This used to be a family favorite. We would visit Osaka once a week - though it is a bit pricey for the Hibachi. The quality of the service has declined rapidly in the last year or two. It seems that they are outpricing themselves for what they now offer. The chefs used to entertain but if they recognize you as a regular, because they are short-handed, they rush through without any entertainment whatsoever... but you PAY full price... which includes the "entertainment". To charge $5.00 for a child to share an adults plate... when there is NO entertainment is ridiculous. And their list of holidays... where they charge the dinner rates includes Memorial Day and Labor Day... Mondays... when you think you might visit to enjoy the less expensive lunch menu. Dont! We may visit once every three months now. The last visit was such a disappointment, I dont know that we will return. And dont attempt to make a complaint because then they cannot understand why you are upset.

Let me start off by saying I never in a million years thaught I would be writing a bad review for this restaurant, I have enjoyed the overall experience almost everytime. However, today while having lunch with my mom I witnessed something completely disgusting. In the middle of our meal, we watched in disbelief as a waitress carrying a bowl of edemame had accidentally dropped some of the edemame on the floor. She nonchalantly picks up the edemame and puts it back in the bowl and takes it to the table. This is something you would assume goes on behind closed doors in the kitchen, obviously not! Please be aware of food as well as the service. Very sad :-(

used to really love coming here, because of great sushi and adequate service. However my last experience was horrible. The server was disinterested to say the least. She forgot to bring us individual plates, did not once check on us and did not clean the table between courses. She was all rude and snappy. The sushi was not good either, sloopy, dry and did not taste fresh. We placed a rather large order and spent over $100 for dinner, it was a shame to leave so much money for such a mediocre experience.

The locals may love it but if youve had experience with Japanese food its not very good, I wouldnt get anything uncooked and even my pork shumai tasted a little fishy. Bar is borderline acceptable just dont get a drink with more than 3-4 ingredients. I really hate giving something a bad rating but its very underwhelming. However the tuna neck (cheek) is better than most Ive had (the only reason Im giving it 3 stars)

Sad sad day for Osaka and us. We have been going there for years and have a very friendly relationship with all the staff. You can no longer get hibachi while dining. What? This is along with a ton of laundry list of changes. The worst part about it, everyone left. All the bus boys, waitresss, cashier, managers and folks behind the sushi bar. Good luck Osaka Slidell.

I went to Osaka with my husband and kids for Fathers Day and was very surprised. My husband and kids for one are picky eaters, we ate at the Hibatchi grill which was fantastic! Great entertainment for the whole family, the food and service were amazing, both my husband and kids ate everything... and the prices were reasonable, for lunch time. I definitely will be returning...

Theyou have change the recipes making the food tasteless and not worth the price you pay. The menu says you get soup and salad on the lunch they told us they do not do salad with launch even know the menu said they did. I have been going there at at least once a month for over 15 year and will not go back again.

New owners and "new system". 1 waiter (terrible) and 1 cook. Cook was amazing. Stopped in the middle of cooking to get someone elses sushi for them because the waiter disappeared after he started cooking. Took us 50 minutes just to get sushi. Top it off a roach crawled up the wall beside me. Wont be back.

The flavor of the beef teriyaki was ok. The meat was tough. Needed a steak knife to saw through it. Had to cancel the sushi since they had not even started making it when our beef teriyaki arrived at the table.

I almost always go to the Hibachi when I come here. I always have a great time and find the food to be great. Their portion sizes are HUGE and prices are very reasonable.
