Took my 4 year old daughter out to lunch for a "daddy daughter date" on a Tuesday afternoon around 1pm- tables were open but an extreme wait time, ordered drinks and an appetizer, which never showed, different waiter came, I ordered her nachos off the childrens menu for 3.95 my meal and appetizer again. Drinks finally came, and eventually the appetizer came as well after my daughter asked the server again. Food was decent, but to my suprise the 6 chip childrens nacho plate was 7.95 on my bill. Without saying a word I signed my reciept. My server came up to me unsolicited and said "oh, hey, I rang that nacho up as a childrens meal, but my manager came behind me and changed it to a medium nacho plate". As dissatisfied as I was, I realized that there was little point in bringing any complaints to a manager who would act as unprofessional this one did in his/her "up charging" of my bill without as little as a brief (in person) explanation of managements protocol for changing price. Its very saddening because this restaurant use to be the place in town of elite service and atmosphere. After this latest series of failures, its descended into mediocrity due to the obvious mismanagement. RIP Superior

A real waste of $100, Im from the El Paso area so if the cooks need some help in the kitchen give me a call. The only reason they got a two star is because the people were friendly. The food lacked flavor. The cost vs taste was way to high for me . If I recommended this place to a Vaquero I would be hung. We got the El Paso combo and it was just covered in a thick slurry of cheese. No Chili Rojo or Chili Verde which is an El Paso, Tx staple. It did come with one slice of Jalapeno though. The chili Relleno is supposed to be crispy not soggy its fried for Gods sake. We also got the Juarez Fajita which was ok. Except I didnt get the rice and beans and the the pico de Gallo lacked any heat/flavor, not sure where they get their jalapenos from but they lack much heat or flavor. They only had one store bought hot sauce. Their chili con queso lacked any flavor and was a greasy mess. I love Mexican food and this place lacked any good similarities to a Mexican joint. The friend that recommended Superior grill is no longer a friend, well his on probation for a little while. He has had some great recommendations just missed on this one, no ones perfect.

Everytime Im through Shreveport with the significant other and her friends they demand to go here... My feelings about this place are its sorta just okay. Cool building, nice bar and patio. The dining room small and cozy, you will get to know everyone youre crammed in next to and all the waiters that will be bumping into you... But I guess thats just the "character" of the place The food isnt bad, its good food. Its Mexican food served in a TexMex style. Queso is good, prefer the "New Queso" style. The chips and salsa runneth with regular refills. The iced tea is cold. The dishes are good, good quality meats, lots and lots of cheese, rice and refried beans are good. Heres my problem, this place is way way overpriced for TexMex. Many of the plates that may be 9.99 or 10.99 elsewhere are 17 to 22 dollars. This is not $20 a plate good, its not even $15 a plate good. But to Shreveportites its the pinnacle of Mexican food. Go once and decide if youre a raving fan or a cheapskate like me.

We drove an hour to get there. Was told it would be an hour wait. After two hours of waiting we were really ready to get out of there but just didnt want to drive that far and wait two hours and then leave. Surely we would be seated shortly. Well, fifty minutes later we did get seated. The food was great, the service was good. But they really need to learn to turn the seats quicker. We watched one table of customers eat their meal and then sit for another hour and a half drinking and talking (should say yelling, it was very loud). Now it was a Saturday night and the partying was happening but that is ridiculous. But I suppose they dont have to worry about turnover when people will wait for three hours huh? Well, that wont happen again. No way will I drive an hour and risk waiting any where near that long again.

Came here when it was Cadillac grill from an hour away, back in the mid 80s. Weve been going now almost weekly for many years. Any day for lunch and Sat nights are the best. The place rocks with a happy loud energy, music, great smells and friendly fast service. Pancho the manager has explained many times the great effort they go through and days advance prep necessary to keep the quality up for such a huge volume. Great fish tacos, mesquite chick salad, beef fajitas, bacon wrapped shrimp, chili relleno. Top shelf margaritas are pricey but good. Live bands most nights (thursd frid sat sun). Arrive at 5:30ish to avoid the wait or take a number and enjoy a drink on the spanish style wrought iron patio under the crepe myrtles and magnolias. Top 3 places in Shreveport area. #1 for all around fun and atmosphere.

I stopped here for lunch after driving in from Houston. The salsa was the best Ive had anywhere. My waiter told me that it was especially good that day. It had the right amount of heat and sweetness. It was better than anything Ive had in Houston. My friend and I ordered the beef and chicken fajitas. Before they were brought out, we were served soup and rice. The soup was out of this world! It had lots of vegetables and chicken. The seasoning was perfect. The fajitas were served after we had finished the soup. My beef fajitas were very tender. The seasoned butter was superb. I poured it over everything. This dining experience was fantastic! Great service, great atmosphere, and great food. Im just disappointed that I live 400 miles away. Otherwise, Id probably eat there every day.

Generally great food and very good service. But it is sometimes inconsistent. I have been going to the grill for about 30 years and I go semi often. I love the original queso, but lately I have been hesitant to order it because of being served bad batches. The food and drinks are rather pricey, but not without reason. They are almost always crowded at peak dining hours, so go early if you dont want to wait. I usually go for lunch around 11:30 and dinner around 5:30 to avoid the wait. Patio seating is first come first serve, but there is a live band many nights, so it is quite loud. (the patio is enclosed and air conditioned) Also, there are two bars, one in the main restaurant and one on the patio.

The food, atmosphere, and service here is TOP notch. We once waited 2.5 HOURS for a table -- yes, its THAT good! Why did we have to wait so long? If theres just the two of you, you WILL get passed over in favor of larger groups on a busy night. We watched large group after large group walk up and get seated within minutes....even little league baseball teams...even groups that hadnt fully arrived. Will I wait another 2.5 hours next time? Absolutely not. Weve been here enough times to consider it, "been there, done that." Of course, on a less busy day & time we would return in a heartbeat. But if youve never been, DO experience it at least once....even if you have to wait. It is outstanding!
