Read some other good reviews and thought wed give it a try. Dont know what those folks call good BBQ but its sure different than me and my crowd. First word that comes to mind is "awful". Dried out meat with syrupy sauce that I couldnt describe with words cause nothing is supposed to taste like that. I like my BBQ spicy and they do have some spicy sauce but a little spice in something that taste like I would imagine embalming fluid would...doesnt fix the problem. What few sides they actually had (were out of most on their menu) were about the same...bad. On a positive note my wife did like the cole slaw and sweet tea.

I dont know what Kentuckians call Bar-b-Q, but this is as close to original Texas bbq as you are going to get north of Nashville. The meat is juicy and well-smoked (because in Texas, its all smoking the meat, while keeping it tender) the sides are great, the tea is very good, and the service is friendly. if you want to know what bbq is SUPPOSED to taste like, check them out. and the barbed wire display on the Texas shaped display board. I love Ken-Tex and drive from Louisville to get some when i just cant wait anymore.

This place is awesome! A perfect whole in the wall place that prepares the food right in front of you. A lot of people rave about their brisket, but I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was GREAT! The seasoning on their fries is out of this world. Only downfall was they were out of green beans the day I went, but the baked beans I had made up for it because they were delicious. Good prices too.

OMG I am in LOVE! Went here with my daughter and aunt and even though we live in Louisville we will be making at least a weekly 45 min trip out there because they are the most sweetest stag, the best BBQ you ever tasted and a family warm atmosphere Support local and not just because they are local, THEY ARE AMAZING! oh my I need some today!

This BBQ is legit. The real deal. The meat is one of the most flavorful smoked meats Ive ever had. I had a brisket sandwich that was not fatty and very juicy. No BBQ sauce required, which is my opinion of good BBQ. The sides are a little flimsy though, they taste like they came from a can. But the meats are why you come back.

We always stop here to eat if we can time it right while traveling. The BBQ is flavorful, tender, and juicy. You add your own sauce. Plenty of food for the price. All-you-can--eat ribs on Monday night. Do yourself a favor and drive past the Cracker Barrel. The store front may not look like much...but the food is delicious.

We eat here all of the time. I am friends with the owners daughter and have grown up eating their bbq. My favorite is the Brisket and even though it can be a little pricy, my mouth waters even thinking about this place. The workers are so friendly, the place smells amazing, and our family never goes too long without it.

This beats any other BBQ place I have been in Kentucky! They smoke their meat and dont following the Kentucky BBQ thought of "BBQ is the sauce" - WRONG!!! I stop by most on Fridays and get the Picnic Basket - good eating for the weekend! Yes, they cost a little more but quality is worth it!

This was not good at all! I got a pound of pulled pork BBQ and it was very salty. Not to mention it gave me stomach cramps for next two days. I also did not care for their sauce, tangy and hot only ones they had. Had to use Sweet Baby Rays just to eat a sandwich.

Very good BBQ! As I opened the door and went in, I was greeted with a friendly hello and the by the smell of smokiness and meat cooking. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and gotta say, if you eat here you wont be disappointed.

The brisket was amazing as always, but noticed as we were leaving, that the workers there were smoking inside the building ride beside the food in the back. If theyre allowed to do that, who knows what else they are doing.

Loved the BBQ at Ken-Tex! Staff was very friendly and courteously answered all of our questions at the counter. We tried a little bit of everything. The ribs and brisket were outstanding! Cant wait to come back!

What a horrible excuse for a BBQ joint. The empty parking lot, disastrous interior, and terrible food would indicate this place should simply close. RUN away from this place. RUN!!!!

Great place to eat! Very friendly atmosphere! I love the fries they are flavored just right! I also love the BBQ chicken! Tonight was my first time there but I definitely recommend it!

Sauce and baked beans were great. Baked beans were sweet. Sliced beef brisket had flavor on the edges of the meat. Cole slaw was okay and then gross when washed down with a coke :)

I was kicked out for dabbing! I cant believe that Nazis are still so relevant in America. Shameful. The brisket was alright though, I only found three human teeth in it.
