Ainsleys is great because of the location, view, variety and types of food offered and the atmosphere. Adult seating in the bar, some seating outside the bar, a second room with a bar and three outdoor decks with two levels. The Captains steak sandwich has been a reliable favorite, one time I had the best cheeseburger in my life here...I was drunk. The shrimp bianca is another favorite...I usually get the appetizer and then get a salad. Pizza was better the next day, cold. Steaks have been consistently been cooked to order. They have a special Acapulco nachos which is perfect over a couple of beers. Id give it a 5 just because it is the only gig on the lake and is pretty good all around. Atmosphere , quality and variety of food. A few of the servers are not very attentive. I think it is more a training or college age thing. Some are terrific but you cant choose your server. There is also not a very good place to wait if it is raining or hot. The foyer is small and the restrooms are super busy. You can stand outside with the smokers.

We had lunch here with family for my daughters 16th birthday. The food was good but the service couldve been much better. We got our food and had to wait and ask for silverware. After we got our silverware is when she asked is everything was OK. That was the only time she came back. We had to ask a food runner - to get us a refill. I seen all of the other severs several times. I work in the restaurant industry as a manager and this was unexceptionable. We had to ask for our bill then after we paid it and left the cash tip she came running out the door yelling we forgot something then said oh that is the tip sorry for the bad service. We left the gentleman more of a tip that we left her. I typically tip VERY good but a tip is not just a percentage of your bill it is the quality of service you get. All of the other servers were very attentive to their guests.

We took our father to Ainsleys for father day today and it was our 1st time eating here. It was a horrible experience. Our waitress did not even smile or introduce herself. After she took our drink order at 7pm we did not see or hear from her until after our food arrived. She did not give us any silverware nor did she ask us if we needed any refills for the 90 minutes that we sat there. She took our order, gave us our drinks, asked us if we got everything we ordered and gave us our check at the end-HORRIBLE service. Thankfully, throughout dinner-the bus boy-asked us if we needed refills, gave us silverware, and had a wonderful conservation with us- very nice young man. and we appreciate him checking on us.

Its been close to twenty years since my husband and I last visited. We spend the day on the lake, which was great, and decided to have dinner over looking the lake. While the view was nice, the swarms of bugs on the deck were never addressed by the staff-gross! Then food was terrible. I had the ribeye, which was tough and just tasted like a cheap cut of meat, and my husband had the walleye pike and it was horrible. The breading did not have a good flavor and the fish was fishy and mushy - did not taste like walleye at all. $70.00 not well spent.

We found Ainsleys Cafe just by chance and it turned out to be a fantastic surprise. Ainsleys has plenty of seating with terrific views of the lake, a large and friendly wait staff, and very good food. We were there on Sunday afternoon and the place was full. The next time we are in the Brookville lake area we will be sure to stop back in again.

Waitress,Tara, was not friendly at all. Never introduced herself,was in a hurry and just not friendly.. Our order wasnt right when it was brought to us. Sucks cause I love coming here to eat and sit on the deck and look over the water.

Absolutely nothing close in the area.... add the fact that this gem is "On The Water" with great boater access... Great Food, Service and Atmosphere.... AINSLEYS CAFE should be on your radar if ever in the area...

The food and drinks were good. The burgers and sandwiches were huge! They were extremely busy so it took awhile to get a seat and so service was a little slow as well. Overall good and would go again.

Absolutely a great place to eat.with awesome service and the food is great. Resonably priced with boat dockage free while you eat. We make it a point to eat there while fishing on the lake.

Great food and great atmosphere. The views are absolutely amazing and the service is second to none. Definitely some of the best pasta around and you have to try the onion straws.

The staff is seasonal work. Never know what kind of service youll get. They nickel and dime you (split charges, etc.). Outside atmosphere is nice.
