I go here quite often, almost every Tuesday or Thursday, with my Grandma. We have always had great service until today (06/08/17). Sometimes its a little slow and we get it but we were barely even waited on by our server. When we finally got our food after 45 minutes we were given excuses instead of an apology. Food was still good, but I dont believe we will be going here as often if at all. We totally understand that sometimes there are complications, but this is the first time weve considered cancelling our order and walking out. It was kind of ridiculous. The only other time we have had bad service was from the same server, the service was very similar to what I have already described, except we had to wait 10 minutes just to put in our drink order (Mid June, Not sure of exact date). Im upset I couldnt give the 5 stars I know the Griffin deserves. I genuinely hope if we go back our service is much better because we love the food and atmosphere.

The place is a relatively decent environment for a sports bar and grill. They recently expanded with a more club like experience directly connected. Ive yet to go there at night since this opened, but really, the place opened in the 90s and always strived to be a popular hangout, and theyve only recently added a club?!?!?!? I dont care how good the new expansion is, thats irrelevant seeing as what theyve always tried to be. The issue is that it took so damn long. Meanwhile rating the sports bar area, it fairs quite well: sizeable drink selection, good choice for TV placement, well above average food, and is one of the few places that opens early and serves breakfast. Service is good enough....when you finally get some. I understand being slow on the weekends, but this place is just slow, period. Go for the food and drinks, not the entertainment factor.

This is a great place for many occasions. My 5-yr old sons favorite for the kids fish n chips. Been there to watch football with friends at the high top tables. Been there with big groups. Mostly very friendly service, rare that a server is not engaging. Laid back, good food, good price. Like the new app with loyalty program. Appetizers are yummy, the fish or shrimp tacos are really good, burgers are great and can be made beef, buffalo, turkey, salmon or veggie. They have a few vegetarian options, sometimes a tough find. Desserts are delicious -- ice cream sundaes, with brownie or chocolate chip cookies, malts, root beer floats!

The best fish and chips in Michigan I have found and 36 beers on tap makes this place amazing! Most of the staff knows how to cater to beer lovers with samples and basic knowledge, which really adds a nice touch. Occasionally you have a new waitress or someone that is definitely green, but I have only experienced that a couple of times while visiting here. Their own Conkey Tavern Ale is very good and a must try for hop lovers and they treat Guinness right. I definitely enjoy coming here and hanging out with friends and family. Good food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Food was ok, but service was horrible. Waitress walked by our table numerous times without checking on us and I had an empty glass of pop, finally someone from our group flagged her down to ask for refills. Also, instead of asking if I wanted my food boxed up she just took my plate without saying anything and dumped the extra food in the garbage. I wanted it boxed up, but she never asked! In the 2 hours we were at the restaurant I saw our waitress eating twice and on 1 smoke break. It took our waitress 1/2 hour to get our checks. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

I love the Griffin. The staff is great, the food is generally pretty good, and they have a small but great beer selection. We went for breakfast a few days ago. I got "The Griffin Breakfast Combo", basically its corned beef has with eggs and cheese. It was pretty good, overall I was happy with the food. However, I was sort of surprised that they dont make their own corned beef hash. They have a pretty good Reuben, Id like to see the same corned beef on their breakfast menu. Seems sort of weird that their serving the canned stuff.

Their chicken wings are delicious. Their burgers are the best i ever had. Their potato skins are cooked to perfection with juicy tender bacon bits on top. Their steak bites are bite sized but not too small. They even have a countdown clock for St.Patricks day. The bru city fries are crisp and crunchy. And i love making my favorite drink. I add 2 secs worth of mellow yellow and sprite then slpenda and apple juice and to finish it off i add lemonade to make the sweetest drink i have ever had. I would recomend this resturant any day.

We go in here every week to unwind after work (wait staff know myself and friends by name when we walk in). Usually the service is great, tonight was a bit off. Likely due to being slammed earlier in the day and everyone was tired. Ive worked in bars, I get it, dont like receiving, but know Ive done similar before. Food was good as usual other than the steal being undercooked for my friend. Will definitely be back again, and hopefully wont be on such a busy night.

Surprisingly busy on a Tuesday night. I live in Chicago and was looking for exactly this. Has a bar, people talking, glass clinging, food was good. Atmosphere. Sat in the bar are and bartender did a great job of greeting quickly. Had a Ruben, could have used a little more meat but it was good. Homemade chips were a little over seasoned, but I was drinking a beer so all is good. When I am back in Battle Creek I will visit here for sure.

Food was average at best. I ordered the blackened salmon sald which was supposed to come with foccacia bread. It also strangely came with hard boiled eggs which looked like they have been dropped on the floor. The foccacia bread was hard and appeared flattened, must have been left over from the night before. The waitress only came by to take drink orders and bring us our food and bill. I should have gone to Arcadia instead.

Service was extremely good from the moment we walked through the door. Appetizers and salads came out surprisingly fast. Normally I order my steak cooked more done than I want it since so many places undercook them, but I wont make that mistake again here! They were perfectly cooked to order, and as juicy & tender as you can get! The Black Irish Dip was fantastic, I cant wait to come back.

We had a large group, but our experience was pretty poor. Long wait times for our dinner and then food arrived cold. Ordered the salmon tacos, and although the salmon was OK, there was hardly anything else on the taco (teaspoon of chopped cabbage). Disappointing. On the good side there were reasonable beer choices, and our server was very friendly as she made excuses.

Good place to grab dinner before/after a concert or show at the Kellogg Arena. Service was good but could use another bar tender. Food was good. Maybe a little expensive for what we got but not totally out of line. Has the potential to be really good if they put time in making food better. Would go again. Must be busy for a reason, maybe just an off night....
