Delicious food, fantastic friendly service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere to enjoy a full dinner, or share a couple of appetizers and relax by yourself or with friends. (I suggest the crispy vegetable egg roles, crab rangoon and the Shrimp and Tofu Hot Pot - AMAZING!) Ive followed Chef Alex Chin for 20 years - beginning with China Kitchen in Clifton, to the Pacific Moon in Montgomery, to Shanghai Mamas downtown Cincinnati. So I was delighted to learn that "Szechuan Garden Bistro" just 5 miles from my home, was now "Under new Management by Alex Chin " !!! YEAH! Upon learning this news about 8 months ago, Szechuan Garden Bistro has become our go-to "Lets meet at Szech-Garden" for me and my group of girlfriends at least twice a month. The food and service is so consistently great, it is the only place we have found that everyone is the group is always happy and willing to try new menu items because we know that Alex and his staff will take care of us. About three months ago, I learned that Szechuan Garden Bistro will deliver to my office in Downtown Cincinnati! WHO KNEW!?!? Now whenever I need to impress a group of new clients, I make sure to include lunch from Szechuan Garden Bistro. The food is always delicious, fresh, and all the ingredients come from local organic farmers. You can taste the difference that fresh organic ingredients make in everything from their handmade pork egg rolls to their vegetable lo mien. Located a few miles south of Cincinnati on the Dixie Hwy, it is worth the few extra minutes in the car to dine at Szechuan Garden. The best Chinese food in the city and at a very reasonable price. Lunch portions cost less then $8 and come with a homemade egg roll and fried rice. 10 STARS **********

Not much to look at, but its a pretty good Chinese place. Obviously its not authentic Chinese, but the dishes are typical Americanized Chinese dishes that are well-prepared and generously portioned. Its not a buffet and it does have alcohol although I wouldnt characterize the bar as well-stocked. Compared to most Chinese places the prices are a bit steeper than you might suspect but the portions are very large and the quality is very high. You can tell things are being made to order rather than reheated in the back. Lastly the service can be a bit spotty. I wouldnt call it unfriendly, but it always seems like theyre either understaffed and too busy or so empty the servers get bored and forget about you. Honestly its not like Id avoid the place based on the service, but it definitely has never stood out to me.

This was possibly not only the worse Chinese food Ive ever had, but probably the worse "food" ive ever had. Nothing tasted like it is supposed to. The sweet tea tasted like they filtered it through a used toilet first. 2 of 3 people with me got sick from the food. If you eat here, please be sure not to eat your fortune cookie. the only fortune you want from this place is that you dont die from the horrid food. even when we walked in, we knew better than to stay, but we ignore our gut feeling. bad mistake. then the bad sweet tea, we realized we shouldve left, we had our warning signs to get out, but we ignored them and suffered the consequences of having the food coming out both ends later that evening.

Ive lived in NY and CA, so Ive had my fair share of Chinese food from restaurants. Being asian, Im pretty picky since Ive had my taste buds spoiled in some of these places. I was surprised by how fresh the vegetables were, not- over fried or over cooked. and seasoned perfectly...we had a group of 6, and every dish was perfect. The eggplant was delicious, so were the green beans. The only down side is that since Im health conscious, there may have been some msg in it since I had a slight headache afterwards. overall though, for the price and place, it is excellent, and we gave a generous tip when we left.

...sumptuous food, either delivered or when time allows, its a GO(O)D PLACE to sit and savor the flavor, the wait staff is attentive without being obtrusive ...AND EVERYTHING IVE EVER EATEN THERE, OR FROM THERE MAKES MY MOUTH HAPPY! Freshness, Quality, Excellently Prepared...from garlic spinach to various styles duck, shrimp&lobster to pork bellies. Ive tried and enjoyed many of their offerings and each has been exquisite in its own way ...cost is relative, but the portions and care given each dish makes it money well spent... ENJOY...i do

If i can give them zero star i would! Their food is not freshly made, you can tell that is like some kind of left over. The fry food i order over there is not fresh at all! If is fresh fry food it should be crispy instead it was very soft and not fresh. And they use the same sauce for every food the make! I dont know what kind of sauce they use to put in their food, but every food i order, it has the same taste! The same garlic sauce they use, it was horrible! Eat in there twice, i never want to eat in there again! waste of money!

Recently under new management, this has become one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the Cincinnati area. A few years ago I would have given it three stars, but the food quality has improved tremendously, they have a huge selection on their menu and the prices are decent (although not cheap, to be fair). The hot and sour soup is especially tasty, as are the potstickers and crab rangoons. Service is a bit on the slow side, but the food makes up for it in my opinion.

A nice neighborhood restaurant, the food is definitely a step up from your casual Chinese place. The staff is friendly and the service has always been quick. It has a quirky vibe in that its in what seems like an old house remodeled into a restaurant. Their $6 lunch specials are a great deal. They also offer an authentic Chinese menu, though I havent given it a try.

As a vegetarian, Szechuen Garden has always been the only Chinese place I really trust and enjoy coming to. (many years ago at a random Chinese restaurant they gave me chicken and told me it was vegetarian. Was in my mouth before I realized they were wrong). This place though is always good. Fast and friendly. Great stop for lunch or dinner!

This unassuming building houses a comfortable dining area with tables and banketts good for dining solo or with a group of friends. The service was good... our waiter had a quirky sense of humour which made the dining experience fun. The pad thai was perfectly spiced with just enough pepper to enjoy but not leave you guzzling water.

Szechuan Garden Bistro has a pretty good lunch special: a meal for less than $6! You get an entree, soup, and rice; standard Chinese food, but perhaps a little on the salty side. Best part: nice clean aquariums filled with cute fish. Service was fast and the prices were great.
