First visit and will be the last. Waited forever to get anyone to take our order. We ordered Cokes and they were so watered down they didnt even taste like Coke. Finally had someone take our food order and had to ask for a kids menu. Once we finally received it we were asked right away if we were ready to order without given a chance to look over the kids menu. Then after several minutes she came and took our food order. We also had to ask for crayons for the kids menu as there were activities on it to do. After about 30 minutes we finally received our food. Its over priced for the quality. We were never checked on by our waitress, we had to ask another waitress for refills. Later we had to go up to the bar to get refills. Very poor service! So bad we didnt leave a tip and that rarely happens for us. They seriously need to get their act together!

I never leave reviews, but after eating here several times, and the terrible experience we had most recently, I need to. They werent busy but had to wait for them to clear a table in a desirable location with a view, food took forever and my wifes meal arrived cold (I dont mean not hot, I mean cold). Getting a drink refresh was agonizingly slow, and waiting for our ticket took an eternity. Oh, and the mens room was extremely rank (like hold your breath kind of rank). This place could be fantastic if they would just execute the fundamentals.

Went for the $1 burgers on Wednesday. Not sure if these burger patties are the same as they use on other nights, but these seemed cheap like something youd find in a school cafeteria and were not great. My date and I both felt nauseous later in the night and lost sleep over it. The service was decent. It took awhile for our server to initially come to our table, but once they did it was alright. Ive been to this location before and it has been iffy to decent at best, but this visit is the one thatll keep me from returning.

The food is such a plus here; the options are incredible, and the gourmet flavors are impossible to find anywhere else. However, as I did not mind myself, the wait was very below average, and it took through my second course to get a drink from the bar, ordered before consuming my first course. It almost hurt to watch as other people lost their temper around the restaurant with the wait staff. You may want to avoid *this* location if you dont have much patience, but I would highly recommend another location very much.

Ive never had such a poor experience with a business that was not busy by any means. Me and my party helped clear the table, 20mins later asked for water after the table had been clear 15mins prior to that. Again the place was about 5% occupied and a staff of about 7. To top it off we werent asked for drinks until after the water was brought to us. So a total of 45mins wasted for nothing beyond poor service and being lied to as to who the General Manager was (whom was not there).

The last two times I went there, including today, they were not at all crowded, but we could get no one to take our order, this last time even after watching a server bring drinks to the table next to ours. Not just not take our order, but not even acknowledge our existence. We went next door to Brothers. Cheaper food, and we were seated and served promptly, even though they were busy. Bar Louie really needs to get its servers trained, or find some managers who want customers.

Food was good. We had a waitress Ariel that was terrible. The food took almost 40 minutes. It was at night and was not very busy. I told her the beer was flat and didnt get much of a response. Every time Ariel said she would be right back it took her 20 minutes. Restaurant has good food just need better service. Especially with Newport not doing well due to economics growth in other areas. Please coach your waitress to improve their service skills.

Chicken nachos: average. No where near The Comets. Mussels: sub par. Id rather have 2 mussels from Enoteca Emilia than this entire bowl. Loaded tater tots: again, nothing special. Quite salty. At least my expectations are always set low when I enter chain restaurants, so in that respect, everything was "fine". Our server, Markus, was very friendly and accommodating, although my 10 year kept asking me if that was a guy or girl. :-D

The service was horrid. We walked in and every table we passed had dirty plates and glasses. Maybe the busser was asleep? So dirty looking. This was in the afternoon on a Saturday. Probably had 5 tables in total. Food was pretty good but is very expensive for the quality. Not sure there is more than 3 meals less than 10 and they were all appetizers. Draft beer selection was also garbage. This will probably be my last visit.

Excellent food and service! Havent been to eat here in 5 years and was presently surprised with the excellent boneless wings and happy hour draft Guiness! My 3 year old was also entertained and liked the food. Best overall spot for food and drinks on the levee. Outdoor seating area is covered and very open for the occasional good weather.

Another great spot to enjoy during this recession. They have like one of the best burgers...mmmmmmmm but you also can choose the grilled chicken breast, turkey burger or portabello mushroom instead with all sorts of toppings to choose from...it looks good but, not my thing lol (scared of a mushroom that big), a vegans dream.

We like to live on the wild side, and took our child with developmental delays for our first ever outing in eatery. The wait staff was AWESOME! Very friendly, patient, and complimented my child on well behavior! Food was on point, best burger Ive had in a while! Definitely going back in the future! Amazing establishment!

Awful experience!! Estimated wait to be seated 30 mins but after asking the hostess where we were on the list we were seated after an hour. Once seated the waitress walked past our table several times without saying anything. We sat there for 10 minutes before they even acknowledged us. Not a very great experience.

We had a great server (Id shout out if I could remember his name!) who recommended the Clover (Makers and Hennessy and I dont know what else), and my other two party members ordered mojitos. The drinks are bomb, as they should be at $10 a pop. The hummus plate was also very good. Recommended, but pricey.

This place was short staffed with only 4 waitresses on a busy weekday night. The kitchen was backed and we were seated for over 15 mins while no one came to serve my table. After begging for a waitress for so long we decided to leave. I would never go back here after an experience like that

Its not the first time I attempted to dine in and was ignored. Its unfortunate that the service is horrible because the food is great. While I was waiting to be acknowledged, 3 other tables that were ignored, walked out. Bar louie is just a waste of time

I visit Bar Louie nearly every time I visit the levee. As time has gone on service has gotten more and more slow. Today it took 25 minutes for me to get my food, and by the time it arrived it was cold. It is seriously ridiculous.
