I went to this new Bar Louie location on a Tuesday night and it was surprisingly busy, so I was optimistic for a positive experience. I looked through the draft menu and saw Mad Tree Gnarly Brown, which I knew to be a discontinued beer from a trademark dispute. I asked the waiter if they really had it on tap as I found it unlikely they would have an unavailable beer on their menu shortly after opening night. Our waiter was unsure whether they had it or not. He said he would go check if they do. 10 minutes go by and he returns to say they do not have it. So I order another beer on the menu. He goes off and another 10 minutes or so go by. He comes back and says they dont have it. All this time my friends have already been drinking and I am still empty handed. Two beers gone shortly after opening? Seems odd. I order another beer, this time a hoppy pale ale. He finally comes back with a drink, the saga is over. But not so fast. I take a sip of my beer and it is super sweet and very clearly not what I ordered. I inform the waiter the beer does not taste right and is likely not what I ordered. Before I even finish my explanation he chimes in that it was likely a shandy that they gave me instead because what I ordered was out. He seemed to know my complaint before I explained, indicating he knew what the bar staff had done that instance or they had done something similar in the past. So I am now 0 for 3 on selection and have been served a wrong beer in hopes I would not notice. I give up trying to choose for myself and order what someone else has because they at least have it in stock. I would have hoped my first beer would be comped given they should be trying to win over customers, but no such luck. Nor did I get any sincere apologies from the staff. My experience was surprising considering my previous visits to the Newport location were all positive. With several bar options in Anderson close by, namely Goodfellows and Latitudes, I am hardly itching to return to this Bar Louie.

Service at this location was beyond subpar. Weve been excited to visit since weve had nothing but good experiences at the Newport location. It all began with no greeting, but a mere glance and someone telling us to pick a table. After we sat, it took maybe 10 minutes before somebody finally came over and asked if we had been helped, despite multiple tables around us. No biggie, we placed drink orders and glazed over the menu once more. Drinks came quick and we placed our orders for food. Wait time wasnt bad, but not good. The food was brought to us and dropped off, we were told to enjoy. No time for a response or anything. My burger was incorrect so I waited a minute but ended up notifying the bartender who then went and found my server. A little frustration at this point but the names were similar so I let it go. Another 15 minutes passed and the correct burger came out. Awesome, time to eat and an extra serving of mac. Not too bad. Except my burger was lacking the giardiniera..the one thing that tempted me so much. Sick of waiting I ate it and dealt with it. Our server brought our check and notified us that she was stepping out for a quick phone call, that she would be back briefly. 15 minute isnt very brief. We had to notify another crew member who then spent some time looking for our waitress. We werent in any rush when we got there but we didnt really anticipate being there longer than 40-45 minutes, which at this point we were far beyond. Its a shame. The food isnt bad and the environment is great, the service sucked. Wont be going back soon.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! We had a party of six and the place was half full. Literally 25 min. for our first round of drinks and they were wrong! Our server did a hit and run dropping off our Chicken nachos for appetizers but no plates, napkins or silverware. We went to the bar to grab plates that turned out to be mostly dirty. Half way through the apps, our waiter comes by to take our order and we ask for utensils and napkins. The quality of the cocktails was poor due to the amount of ice (large cubes) they use. The quality of the food was such that each of us had enough to put into a to go container yet no one chose to. The flatbread pizzas were just horrible. Some additional details, the friend that we had lunch with is from Anderson and told us this place has a reputation for horrible service. We initially ordered pretzel bits for an app and were told they ran out. As we were leaving (90 min after we arrived) the table next to us received an order of pretzel bits. We saw them holding up their dirty plates and vigorously wiping them with a napkin. Everyone that ate the chicken nachos had stomach issues afterwards. I would avoid this place. The demeanor of the staff is one that exudes frustration. No one is smiling and the staff is poorly trained.

4 visits to this location and they have all been pretty bad. The service, with the exception to the first visit, has been a variety of rude, slow, unprofessional and inattentive, and none of those visits have been during busy hours. I have felt like a bother each time Ive been there. The last visit, we spoke to the GM and gave him the feedback in hopes of seeing improvement but I guess 2 months was not enough time. No manager presence except for when we asked for him. The server today, lets just say she wouldnt be working for me. Slamming our drinks on the table as she walked by, she paid no attention to the timing standards for service and couldnt have cared less. The bugers were way overcooked this time as well as last. The tater tots are usually what we come in for but even they were wrong today... I run a restaurant, i get the struggles and i know what it takes. I opened a restaurant in Florence and that was so tough so i get it and my life isnt close to perfect but Ive given this 4 chances but if the tots are all you have to offer, i cant say Ill be back soon if at all

Lets put it this way, if I could, I would give this place a zero star review. My experience was bad as soon as I walked in. There was no hostess stand, not even a please seat yourself/please wait to be seated sign. I stood there five minutes before a waiter came by, asking are you in or are you out? I should have left then but I was meeting friends. How rude? I finally just went and found a seat when one of my friends came in. We ordered waters as we waited for our other friend, the waters never came and the waitress never returned to take our order after about twenty minutes of sitting there. We finally just left and went to a bar down the street where we had amazing service and cheaper food. Will not go to this Bar Louie ever again.
