This was our second visit. For the first visit, 5 stars all the way around. Todays visit would have been 5 stars except for our only complaint which happened to be the SERVICE. Even though it was lunch time, our server only had 4 tables to deal with, including ours. We came in, sat down and waited a good 10-15 minutes before even getting a menu & then taking our drink orders. The wait to get our menus wouldnt have been so bad if she had simply acknowledged us during that time, but there was no apology whatsoever and she only came back once to check on us. Not a great experience, especially since we brought our Mom and had previously raved about this place. Maybe she was having a bad day, but servers need to realize that it also affects the customers who come in with the expectation of having a nice dining experience. Because of this, it will be awhile before we return. Food is consistently awesome. Kudos to the owners for managing to provide the good, old fashioned, home cooking that many of us still enjoy.

The food was not bad. A little over priced if you ask me. The service was atrocious though. Our server took forever to bring us menus then left after taking our orders. Another girl brought us our food then, we were ignored. We waited for a long time after eating then finally asked for our check. The lady that brought our check complained that our server had left and blamed her for our wait. Surely the other people knew she had left.... Why did no-one check on her tables?

Awesome breakfast. My wife had biscuits & gravy with a side of bacon, over easy eggs, & hash browns. I got a chicken biscuit w/gravy, the fried country steak sandwich, and a side of home fries. We actually ended up combining some of ours together to make the ULTIMATE breakfast sandwich, & if you go here then do what we did... take the fried steak sandwich, top it with the gravy, some bacon, hash browns, & over easy egg. It was life changing! Cant wait to do it again.

The chicken fried steak tastes just like grandys. Gravies were weak and institutional tasting. The turkey and dressing tasted like lunchmeat and stove top stuffing. The best thing is that everything was nice and hot. Too much salt on some, too much black pepper on other thimgs. I do not believe the cooks taste what they prepare. I almost exclusively eat at family owned diners, and this is one who could use some help.

This is first time trying the place we placed our order and it was simple 1 bacon cheeseburger plain,1 plain hamburger,and 1 plain cheeseburger when it showed up the plain hamburger had cheese sent it back and they scrap the cheese off and send it back the bacon cheeseburger had No bacon and my plain cheeseburger had everything on it so this being said I will never come back to eat here

I Love Love this place so glad we have this place so down to earth friendly, great atmosphere my little boy has to get ice cream every time. Another cool thing is how thereally is always fresh baked cakes on the counter the food is great too the pancakes are awesome. And pricing is definitely great you get alot of food for a great price.

Good: Comfortable and cozy. Decent amount of seating for a "diner." Cautions: Much like family members in a household, not everyone can cook. In addition, server skills vary wildly. I think some great down home cooking can be found here, but it seems very hit or miss.

All staff is very friendly and works as a team, therefore, service is impeccable. The food is great and very cheap for the amount you get. Have tried several different things and all have been delicious. Cant wait for summer so I can walk down for cake and ice cream!!!!

Service was slow, food was OK but not made correctly, had to get my own refills, napkins and carry out boxes after carrying around my plate asking for help. Staff was not friendly and didnt seem knowledgeable about what was in stock and on the menu.

Good food but every time I go there some things are cold. Would be excellent if food was hot. And they open a little too late for me. I think 6am would be better for most working people. Still really good though, l go for breakfast every chance I get.

Our first visit to the Hillview Diner. The food was hot and delicious! Highly recommend the chicken fried chicken and also the broccoli cranberry salad. The staff were very friendly. Cute diner atmosphere. Cant wait to co.e back.

They were busy but were seated immediately. First thing I noticed was no air conditioning, or was not working. Food was good but plain. Was glad to get outside after eating as it was literally cooler (and this was in August).

Best place to eat in Hilllview, Kentucky. Excellent food and the portions are huge. Great family place and wonderful service. Id recommend the chicken fried chicken and a scoop of bourbon ice cream.
