My husband and I have been there twice. Our food was not good at all. My daughters used to love going there the past few times they had a bad experience. MY oldest daughter and her family went in there last night and they got in there a hour before closing. She and her family ordered their food she got hers it was chicken dried tomatoes and some type of cheese in it all they put was cheese in it,the waitress took it back to the cook to have her another one made she came back and told my daughter he would give her 50%off of the one she did not ordere because he had already cleaned his grill. She said no thats not what she ordered and wanted one made right. I wouldnt be surprised if he hadnt done something to the one he had to make over again. They ordered the chips and Cole slaw which was extra and it was not like it was before when they went there. They should have taken care of the meal for them. But they did not. I hope they dont stay in business very long if that is how they treat their customers. Like I said my husband and I tried it and was not happy at all with our experience. But my girls used to go in there a lot. But no more. And for the women who wrote the review about eating fish tacos and getting food poisoning to the manager I have eaten somewhere before with my mother and we got the same thing and ended up with food poisnoning so you dont know what the hell you are talking about!!! My family and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight. Being from NY We were very skeptical because it was our first dinner out in the state of Kentucky. We were very impressed, it has the small home town feeling, the hostess was very cheerful and sweet and the waiter Ben (yes a man) was so sweet ,polite and just an all around great waiter, right on point. We ordered the reuben wontons , and green fried tomatoes. Absolutely delicious! All 3 of our dinners were absolutely delicious as well, the food came out fast, fresh and so yummy. We would all definitely recommend if you are ever in Lagrange Kentucky or the surrounding areas make it a point to stop in there and have an excellent meal with great service and a smile. Id give 10 stars if I could

Good: Large menu has one of the best varieties ever.... loved the menu. Location in historic downtown area is very nice. Interaction with server was just right and we never had to wait or ask for anything we needed. Cautions: Food in our party may have been prepared too quickly and all of us noticed undercooked items. Personally, my steamed broccoli was too crunchy and my fish, while seared nicely on the outside, was a bit slimy and barely done on the inside. While my food wasnt a best, I will chalk it up as a fluke. I think the restaurant is worth a visit and I may give it another shot the next time Im in the area.

Have traveled quite a bit and this place is exactly why eating local is great. Fresh and unique food, genuine service, and fun a environment. Come as you are, wearing jeans and with kids in tow, but don’t let that fool you the food is not your typical diner patty melts and meatloaf. Instead they boast fun and very tasty quesadillas with pimiento cheese and country ham as well as an apple butter and amaretto glazed pork loin stuffed with granny smith apples. Both were AMAZING!!! Glad I ate and watched the train at One Nineteen West Main!!

It was a 50 minute wait. Guests came and left before our food arrived. When it did finally arrive they forgot my dish and it didnt come for another 10 minutes. I ordered their signature dish and it was cold, over cooked, and terribly bland. Everything tasted like it had been frozen or canned. I sampled other meals in our dinner party and they were varying degrees of awful. Not to mention the depressing cafeteria ambiance. Paper table cloths and all. I implore you dear reader, spend your money on any other restaurant. Literally any!

The menu is large and fun to read! Portions are large and tasty. We shared a bowl steak soup and the Kentucky "haute" Brown; full order and we really would have been satisfied with the "Half Brown". Everything passing by looked mouthwatering as it was plated beautifully. I wish we had a large group so I could have tried many more of the dishes. We arrived just before the lunch crowd who looked like locals. It was a great find traveling from Michigan to Memphis!

Ive had great food here! Unfortunately my family tried to eat here on a Friday night at 7pm. There were about 5 tables open and they asked for our name to put us on a wait. The response was that the kitchen was too backed up because of to go orders. I would have waited if they wouldve sat myself and my family. The food is that good. The bad part is I have 2 kids under 3 that needed to be sat. We went to hometown pizza instead. We will be back next time!

Update: March, 2017 - Salmon was good, but the rice was crunchy. I asked for a separate bowl of rice, but it must have come from the same batch of undercooked crunchy rice. Surprisingly, after letting the server know, again, nothing really happened after that. Oh well. ==== Original Review January, 2017 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Always good, anything on the menu. Some nice healthy items as well!

I hardly ever write a review while Im still at the restaurant. However, this place is super. The atmosphere is great. The staff are friendly. Most importantly, the food was really something special. Everything was piping hot. The menu was fun to read and they offer some delicious, and unique items. I will definitely return to try the other delicious-sounding food.

I would give this less than one star. Had to ask for literally everything.. Then the waitress forgot to put in some of my order. The food tasted like it came from a boxed meal and the service was AWEFUL. I took one bite of my food and still got charged! Worst. Place. Ever. So so so disappointed and irritated at this experience.

The decor is fun and whimsical, yet the food is upscale and seriously high quality. Creative southern dishes but not the yucky diner quality. The Fish Reuben and Haute Brown are incredible as is the Creme Brulee made with Madagascar Vanilla Beans. Great prices and huge portions. Great service despite being really busy.

Great, interesting selection of food and desserts at reasonable prices. The service was great and the food was amazing! Once you see the dessert menu its hard to resist, even on a full stomach. Plus, if you have kids (young or old) there are crayons to draw on the paper table clothes. :)

I had lunch today, it was the first time Id ever been there. I was excited because all of the reviews were incredible you positive. I had the fish tacos. I barely made it back to work before I got sick. I had to go home early and Im still not feeling well. I doubt Ill be back.

Great cafe with lots of choices, delicious food, and, generous portions. The service was friendly and prompt. We both tried fish dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The fish was fresh, soft and flakey, and seasoned and cooked perfectly. Overall, a great little spot!
