Before posting a review here, i actually read all the previous reviews (posted on facebook n google)and really wondered how come someone give them 5 stars. Only reason i didnt gave 1 star is because I didnt want to demotivate someone who has started a venture. Now coming to why I gave such review: 1. FOOD - It was below standard in terms of taste, quality n quantity . We were a group if around 6 people and had ordered a wide variety from their menu and to our surprise, everything was pathetic. Samosas were frozen( readymade). And since we ordered potato peas one, there was not even single samosa which had potato peas. The lady boasted us that her dosa was amazing and made us order a dosa ... And what came as a dosa was a blunder. It was a deep/ swad frozen dosa which was totally burnt and there were no chutney, sambhar to go with it. Now coming to palak paneer, it was completely a disaster with some green puree with salt and cheese cubes in it, yes cheese chunks rather than paneer and to top it all it was cold. All the chicken gravies that we ordered were pathetic too, i can describe them well coz i didnt ate them myself but my friends ordered them. The service was super super slow and when we asked for our order after around 50 mins , they served us naans that we ordered , the curries were not there and it took almost half an hour more for them to bring the curries . By that time the kids who were hungry n disgusted by the service had already finished their naans that too without any gravy. We were more in a state of shock that how come someone start a restaurant when they dont even know the basics of a certain cuisine and now I understood why all the reviews are given by people who barely have idea about indian food .And the owners are fooling people with their restaurant.. If given a chance i would prefer to stay hungry rather than going there and pissing my mood off on top of my hunger. In short , disgusting food and service, a total wadte of time, money n energy

I dont live in the area, but anytime Im in Hopkinsville I eat at the East India Cafe. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and their cook is amazing. The last time we visited, I had the shrimp curry with rice and lasso to drink, and my husband ordered the chicken biryani. Everything was delicious. If youre afraid of spicy foods, theres no need to be because you can request your order in mild, medium or hot. I usually go with mild or medium but my husband is a bit more daring. I recommend this place to anyone who either loves Indian food or is looking to try something new.

I was very anxious to try and when I did I was disappointed. I asked if the naan and the samosa were fresh and was told they were . That was a lie. Ive had better Indian food at truck stops in New Mexico , California , and Oklahoma. The food seemed as if it was reheated , pre fabricated and a hardship to prepare. I will not be back nor do I suggest anyone else waste their time and money. This wouldnt even pass for a fast food Indian restaurant. If you love authentic Indian food like I do you know what Im talking about.
