Me and my wife eat here on 9/14/2012 just before they closed out, they advertise free lobster on Friday and Saturday night, we came in. There are none lobster left, they put a paper sign "one lobster each person, very expensive do not waste" then I asked the owner if we can get some crab, he said 15 mins. The customer service suck, they served us expired soda, when we order juice, they dont have any juice. Crabs leg are out in the tray, the owner called us come over and pick some, from the way I see it, all the legs fell off, I see no body at all, basically he just scoop up all the left over legs and restream it. And I was disappointed, guess what after that, they (I guess its the owner wife and bunch of children) all waiting in the waiting room for us to finish so they can head home, its kind of rude, so when we finish, we see them all sitting near the front door , kind of telling us pig hurry up and finish up all the left over and get out the here, so we left and pay $24.00 and $0.00 for TIPS, when the owner see I put $0.00 for tip, he looks disappointed, I say "thanks you for the food" he dont bother to say thanks , in his mind is like "hurry up and get out" Oh and the sushi they made, they put those wasabi and a ginger in a 2 seperate small bow, you suppose to use a spoon and scoop it into your plate, and the sushi? they are all inside the pan with a foil/wax on the top, and its hard as a ROCK, not even soft, its like they put it away if no body finish it and take it back out the next day. They didnt refill our drink, or clean up our plate. And what I hate the most is the owner taking out all money from a cashier machine and start counting, making me think this company is desperate for money.

Two and a half years ago this place was reasonably clean, had good, hot food, and was a cheap-yet-filling dining option. On our most recent visit, a third of the hot buffet options were consistently empty even though the restaurant was maybe a quarter-full. Half the wait staff skulks about like theyre being forced to work off a debt against their will. The Friday buffet sushi is a flavorless, difficult-to-swallow mess, and 3 of our 4 fortune cookies brought at the end of the meal were crushed in such a manner you could read the fortunes without opening the package. Im sure the little 6-legged fellow who made his way up the wall to within 6 inches of my plate wouldnt have eaten much of my lunch, but when youre seated in the booth right next to the kitchen and it happens, it tends to put you off your feed - I stopped eating right then. Recent inspection reports from the Kansas Dept of Agriculture and critical health code violations on follow-up visits make me decide that at some point, you have to take the health of you and your family into consideration when making sound dining choices. Until they get closed down and fumigate effectively, stay away.

I should have known better than to disregard everyones opinion of this establishment. Poor poor service. If I could give it a negative on the service, I would. They didnt pick up dirty plates, the cashier (Im suspecting he was the owner/manager....as lazy as he was being) playing with his smartphone or pulling all the money out of the register to count in front of customers. When I paid, and without tip, he gave nothing but a grunt when I signed off on the debit card and handed it back to him....all the while sporting a dirty look. The employees kids playing/walking on top of chairs and tables in another section of the restaurant. What could I say to put this restaurant and its employees/manager in a good light...not a blasted thing. I will NEVER go back to that nightmare, period.

First off I will say its tough to have a buffet fresh the whole time youre open. I think you know where this is going, I arrived at 315 p.m. on a Saturday the food was barely warm some of it was very bad. Not a huge selection. If youve got children they better like Chinese, theres no so-called American items. I fully understand that this is a Chinese restaurant not an American restaurant :-) but typically a Chinese buffet will have something for children. On the positive the staff is very responsive and attentive. I just dont think if youre going to spend $8 Plus on a buffet you should come here. Hopefully this review helps

After Kwan Wah closed years ago, I have been trying many Chinese buffets in Wichita (mostly south and west) and this is by far my favorite. Everything is always fresh and their rice noodles are the best!! BTW the reviewer that talked about the crab legs is mistaken...crab legs are offered every dinner buffet (it says so right on their sign) and are included in the dinner buffet price. Just needed to set that straight. Also, the "super buffets" that offer 100 items are usually sub-par. I would rather have less items that are really well done than tons that are at best marginal. This buffet is not small at all.

Me and my husband always go to buffet restaurants and I thought this one is good based on the comments, we get there past 11 for our lunch then theres no one around. foods r stil covered. we wer asked to wait ugh! then they kept talking chinese...very little food on the serving counters. Also they all talk chinese which i find rude especialy if customers are american. Not rrcommended. There r other chinese buffet thats better than them when it comes to staff attitude and food amount servings

based on the reviews on here i was excited to try this place, tho they were right with some others were a disappointment. the rice noodles were great, the wait staff was nice but it is hardly a super buffet and the food was just not good enough to make up for the lack of variety they had. the only situation i see myself going back to this place is if im stuck on that side of town with no way out and cant think of anything else to eat.

Went to eat Chinese and there was no crap on the bar we asked the waiter why there was no crap on the bar and he had said that you have to pay extra and you only get crab one time but you have to pay $3 that extra fee so they do not serve crab on the bar anymore they serve it at your table for an extra $3 very disappointing that was my Valentines present

Overall China star super buffet is a ok buffet. The food is good but not great, and the price is not cheap but not expensive too. It is good for a working lunch or causal dinner. You can eat pretty full but dont expect too much. Personally, I will go there to eat again. It is still better than a take out, at least you can have a lot of more food.

The food was old and barely warm. Thanks for the memory of having someone hold the wheel for me as I puked into a bag going down the interstate. Having to stop multiple times to race to a bathroom added hours to my already ridiculously long trip. Avoid this place like the plague unless you like to gamble with food poisoning.
