During a recent visit to winterset, i had the good fortune to walk into the montross rx. coming from calif, i am used to stores with lots of choices, but i was amazed that a pharmacy in such a small picture-book town would have our rxs beat! (i found a favorite disposable flashlight that is not always easy to find)...not only is there everything from tools, candy, stationery, small aplliances--and SHOES! ...they have quite an impressive pharmacy...but my reason for stopping in was... THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL BISTRO! ...Good food--Good service--Great place! and-- i got the flashlight at a cheap price!

When I stepped in the door, it was like stepping back into the late 1950s, early 60s when I was a boy. The personal service is beyond amazing and the atmosphere is old time, "soda fountain/drug store". After your first visit, they remember your name and soon recognize your voice on the phone. Their satellite store in St. Charles is even better! Youre a person; not a number! And, if you think youre getting better prices at the big chain pharmacies, youre not. With this place, Ben Franklin and the hardware store I may never have to go to Wal Mart again!
