Living in Oskaloosa you dont have a lot of choices for fine dining - the Pepper Tree comes to mind but theres not much else Id rave about in town although the Mexican Restaurant Mi Ranchito also offers excellent value. Thats why I have been consistently surprised and happy about Asian Buffet. There is always someone available to greet you at the entry way and typically we are seated within moments of arriving. There are always about 2-3 dozen things to eat at this buffet and except for the occasional slow spot the dishes are always refreshed in the buffet. The variety is excellent - there are always chicken, beef, pork, shrimp and seafood dishes available. There is always fried rice, white rice and chow mein. There are always 2 hot soups and, I guess this being the midwest, there is always pizza and fried chicken wings! There are always desserts like jello, seasonal fruit, cake, 4 flavors of ice cream and cream puffs. The dishes themselves range from excellent chicken with broccoli in a brown (oyster?) sauce to plain baked salmon and a variety of shrimp dishes: coconut, boiled shrimp (plain in shell) which is my favorite and improbably a variety of sushi rolls of which I always partake. Everyone here is friendly and attentive. If you need a dish taken away or a refill on your drink someone always seems to notice and get the job done. Although its a buffet I always leave a tip because service is part of the package that is offered in this nice local place.

Asian buffet has fallen down hill since the day it opened here. My husband & I decided to give it a second chance today. That is a mistake I will not make twice. When you walk in the first thing you notice is how dark in there it is. The only light source being from the buffet table lamps. The staff is is not very pleasent & very short with you. The hostess pretends not to speak English until it comes time to pay the bill. While the main area is very clean the food is lacking. It is dry & bland, sometimes even hours old. When you request food to be made new you waste 20 to 30 minutes waiting for them to bring out the fresh food.

For the second time in a row, Ive found a hair in my food/on my plate. Last time they claimed that the hair was me or my sisters (both blonde) when the hair was thick and black. They gave me $1.00 off of my $20 order and didnt change the chicken. After going back again hoping something had changed, I found a hair on my bowl. Also witnessed one waitress flipping her hair around all of the food, and another eating food straight out of the pans with her bare hands. Disgusting.

The buffet took a little bit to get used to if thats how you would say it... Dried out, bland, blah. Its hard to give this a rating because of the selection in town, but coming from the Waukee/DM area this leaves a lot to be desired to be considerd palatable food... GLTA I hope you can stomach it because I was not able to, I was sick for two days with gut rot.

One of the worst buffets I have ever seen. Dry old flavorless unappetizing food with a scant selection of entrees and poor cuisine quality. As far as Asian American food in Oskaloosa, youre better off going to HyVee only a few blocks away. However, thats like picking between letting a dog bite your hand or your foot, either way, it bites.

Found a thick black hair in my chicken. Confronted the workers about it and got told that "customers can get their hair in their food all the time." When I dont have black hair and neither does my friend who was with me. They said all they could do was change the chicken *or* give us 10% off of our $22 bill. Ridiculous.

When getting the buffet, the food is decent depending on what time of the day you get there. Most of the times that I go, the food is either dried out, or needs to be restocked. Its decent when they finally bring out fresh.

This was the worst service I have ever gotten at such a resturant. I had to remind the waitress 3 times about my drink. They were extremely slow at preparing their food with very little people there.

Was horrible. First time i ordered they gave me chicken fried rice instead of pork. And gave them a second chance and didnt cook the chicken all the way. Work $11 ever spent and never going back
