I came over to the blue strawberry on an unexpected free afternoon. What I found was very nice place to study come up with some good espresso and a huge array of sandwiches. It would definitely qualify this place as a sandwich shop that serves coffee rather than a coffee shop with food. Their menu is pretty extensive and included a lot of different sandwich options. In addition, there were plenty of soups as well as some beer options. Its nice to have options for what to eat and drink! Theres a good amount of seating, with plentiful outlets throughout the place. Options range from booths to counter height tables with tall chairs in the back and along the side. Parking was a little bit tough as they only have street parking available, but it didnt seem like people had too much trouble with it. I deduced that the place is actually situated on the ground floor of an office complex or something as people kept walking through and coming out in business attire. Seem like it was a good meeting place and then people would go about their merry way, or up to the aforementioned offices. Overall it seemed like a good spot to come and grab some coffee or some lunch, or to get some work done. The place was comfortable, the internets free and the ambiance is what youd expect from a fairly well-established coffee shop. Plus, the name is quite hilarious! A Blue strawberry, how ruthlessly absurd :-). Well worth checking out, with the only downside being that you have to pay for street parking. #firstworldproblems

My cappuccino was bitter, too hot, and milk was too foamy. Cinnamon roll was just okay. Please free your surface of the sun hot coffee from its styrofoam cup prisons. The staff was also impersonal all the way from taking my order to pick up. They call your name on a PA system (very weird, felt like an old Burger King). I went to pick up my order which was on the far side of the counter. When I kindly asked if it was mine, the young woman said yes, but then just stood there and didnt even try to move my items to my side of the counter. Just kind of awkward. Seems a nice place for a coffee work or networking meeting or to grab a more substantial meal, but I was not impressed at all, especially given its central location downtown. Definitely better coffee shops in CR. Try Brewhemia or Brewed Awakenings.

It saddens me to say that The Blue Strawberry has gone very downhill. Last year I made this coffee // sandwich shop one of my regular places to eat lunch as the food was delicious. I finally came back after a year for lunch today, and was extremely disappointed. The bread was so dry it fell apart, the meat was terribly oily and the tomatoes were bad. The only perks of this place now are the environment of the shop and their selection of chips. I came in expecting a delicious sandwich and left wishing I had gone to Milios.

The Blue Strawberry has hands down the best espresso Ive ever had. I used to be a barista at Starbucks (I know, I know) and it is much better. Their food is great, although it can be pricey. I go there pretty much on a daily basis so they know me there. I would recommend it to anyone! Been going there for years.

You have to try the Mike Gary wrap! The Blue Strawberry is a great place to grab breakfast or mid-morning snack with a coworker -- a tasty way to get business done. Admittedly, every time I go there I think the wait shouldnt be as long, but then I take my first sip/bite and realize it was worth the extra minute.

A great coffee shop, the only one of its kind in Cedar Rapids. Now with the floods its completely gone. If/when they rebuild this one they can count on my business! I always like to go to good local coffee places before the chains, they just are more welcoming and the Blue Strawberry was no exception.

Love the BLT on a Pretzel Roll - its a one-of-a-kind flavor combo that makes your tastebuds come alive. Service is always friendly and prompt. Great place for lunch with indoor street-view seating from barstools, outdoor seating, tables, and booths available. Love the whole package.

Kind staff, and the coffee is pretty good too. They also have a decent selection for wine and beers and can accommodate a larger group. Nice and laid back area creviced into the downtown area of Cedar Rapids. Not the best, but still a good option for your caffeinated fix.

Love this place. I go almost every week with my lap top and work to get done. The atmosphere is great and the prices are crazy low for how delicious everything is. Ive been quoted saying they have the best chai tea latte Ive ever tasted.

Inexpensive and Excellent food, Decent coffee. Variety of different coffee options, with revolving availability. Food ingredients are not amazing quality, probabably bought at a massive chain store; however, the food is still tasty.

I love the salads for lunch - especially the Polynesian. For coffee, I like the Americano. Overall I like this place but I do wish theyd offer paper cups instead of Styrofoam for those days I forget a reusable mug.

I always come back to this place when Im in town. Just had an amazing biscuits and gravy dish for under 4 bucks. That and in-house roasted coffee makes this one of my favorite breakfast places in Cedar Rapids.

Its ok. Half way decent food, staff is friendly. Prices are high, but about what they would be for a place like this. One of the better but certainly not the best coffee shops in town.

I come in here quite often for a Salad or Sandwich for lunch. Portions are just right so you will be good for the rest of your day, without being weighed down by an overly heavy lunch.

The Expresso drinks are tasty, they maintain multiple varities of brewed coffee. The French roast is good. The food is good and prices are great. Service is wonderful.

This was the first coffee shop that I actually went to I found it overpriced and the staff was in a hurry to move to the next customer with no other customers behind me
