Pretty sure you could get a better quality steak from the dumpster behind Ponderosa.. The staff is inattentive and kind of rude, really. The steaks come in two varieties, marinated and regular. We tried the regular the first time and found it stringy and way too much gristle. As bad as that was, the marinated was WAY worse, it tasted like you left the steak in red wine overnight; tough, overpoweringly wine-flavored, and yet somehow still managed to be just as stringy. This is probably due to the poor quality of their meat, their prices are on par with Outback or Texas Roadhouse, but they use the same steaks as Ponderosa. The baked potato was equally awful, not just small but the texture was horrible. Tasted like you overcooked it, then left it in its foil for a few hours under a heat lamp, which Im sure you did. As for service, heres a tip; you might not want to but you really should visit your tables more than just to get an initial drink and deliver the food. Forget getting a refill, we didnt even get a check, had to go up to the front to even get our check so we could leave. The girls that worked there seemed more interested in looking at the guests and giggling to themselves just outside the kitchen than trying to provide any type of service. Needless to say, we wont be back, which is a shame because Scottsburg really could use a good steakhouse. But this just isnt it.

With this place being right next to the Hampton Inn, we decided to try it out. They had a great selection of steaks, Italian and seafood. I chose the 1/2 rack of ribs, but very quickly realized I souks have chose the full rack. They advertise them being the best around, and certainly I believe that is true. The wait staff was knowledgeable of the menu, along with what the full bar had to offer. What was really nice to see was the owner/manager making his rounds to every table to check if anyone needed anything and thank everyone for dining with them. Several times a local came in and he addressed them by name. Thats a great touch of class to see now-a-days! Well see you again next year, if not before that. ...love the ribs!

Roadhouse USA has been around for years, and is one of the best places in Scottsburg to eat. Service is great, and the owner Kayhan really makes the place what it is. He greets many of his repeat customers by name and always has a smile. The food is great, and continues to be top notch on every visit. I bartenders are friendly and food service is great in the bar as well. Its a quick stop off the I65, just west of town, with plenty of parking, and a walking path to the Hampton Inn, for easy access to those staying overnight. Its mentioned on the menu that the steaks are hand cut, and each one I have ordered have come out perfect. The portions are large, and I have never gone away hungry.

The food was terrible! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, cup of chili and 10 wings. There were 8 wings that were ok but not anything different from any other fast-food style wing. The salad was ok however the chicken was very dry. And the chili, took a spoon in and tossed it! My order was to go and when I got back to the hotel I realized I had no plastic-wear. Had to "steal" from the morning breakfast buffet bar at hotel. Not very busy during a dinner rush Im now sure why.

Dear god, the place is run by teens. The steak was disgusting and tasted off. Side portions were small. Vegetables were like they scraped them off the floor. Cook is horrible. This place should be shut down! Possible food poisoning! One steak was pale almost like it was boiled, other was burnt and raw! Very inexperienced staff! Stay away from this place!

Very very good food and service we had a party of 6 and got seated right away. Most of us got some kind of steak and all of our steaks came out exactly how we ordered them. Place was clean everyone was so friendly and working hard. Our waitress was the best we were very needed lol and she was fantastic. I will definitely return and eat here again!!!!

I walked over from the Hampton not knowing what i would find. I ate at the bar and have to say that I was impressed all around. The service was great, the food was great, the portions large, and the price fair. I love to support locally owned and operated when I travel. They have earned my recommendation and Ill be back next time Im in town.

Staff was friendly and attentive and prices are decent. Ordered the ribeye medium and it came out DONE. Several people in our party had the same issue with their steaks being over cooked. Had been there to long to reorder them. Ill try it again, but for 6 out of 6 steaks to be over cooked was a bit much.

I may be out of line but this place is over priced and the food is bland. My "rare" prime rib was gray and rubbery, like its been sitting in a freezer for weeks awaiting my arrival. The staff was very friendly and decently quick...thats about the only positive thing I have to say about my experience here.

Clean. Beer was cold. The owner was very friendly speaking to everyone. My husband ordered the wings as appetizer, not very good. We decided to order dinner. I order soup n salad all good there. He orders a steak. Its cooked good but NO flavor. Up side it was very close to hotel.

we stop in there 3 week ago and I order Sailfish and the other order Steak I never did have sailfish it was good but the when I got it the piece was about 4 1/2 by 2 Inches it was to big clean and they keep checking and c if every thing was ok

Steak was over cooked, near a Medium Well when I ordered Rare. Wife found a piece of wood on her plate, looked like a piece of a pallet there was some blue paint on the said. Server was good but food was not.

A great chef and great service. One of my favorite places to eat. A nice selection of steak, seafood and pasta and very affordable lunch specials. 3 huge screens in the bar area for watching sports.
