its been 2 weeks since the nightmare visit that we had at this restaurant. what we witnessed was the manager Jeremy cussing out and flipping out on his servers. it was so bad that the customers could hear it including my granddaughter. After I spoke with Jeremy about it he decided to talk down to me and he acted like he couldnt understand why any of this was wrong. I made a point to contact the owner of the store because of how bad the situation was. 2 days later the owner finally contacted me back & left me a message and said that I should meet him in person up in Scottsburg while I was working. Apparently the owner did not understand that normal people have jobs that they cant just take off from to go meet about the situation. I attempted multiple times to contact the owner back via text message and phone call, leaving messages each time only to be completely ignored. He happens to own both ponderosas in Scottsburg and and Louisville so if this is how he runs his restaurant I would avoid both of them at all costs.

We didnt get the buffet BC we wanted steak and who can eat that much? Lol. We both had the 10 oz center sirloin platter with loaded baked potato and a salad. The steaks were absolutely amazing! They were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful! The potatoes were moist and very well topped. Our server Julianne(sp) was absolutely amazing!! She customized our salads perfect for us and she made sure we kept drink our entire meal! She was very polite and helpful! The manager walked around checking on customer all night and we made sure to tell him how wonderful Julianne was!! Hunter the teenager doing magic(kids night) entertained us with some pretty amazing card tricks we are still stumped! I wish we would have had our son with us he would have loved it! We come through here twice a week from Mississippi for work and we will absolutely be returning!!

The food was very good! The atmosphere was very nice! The Waiter was very nice! I havent been able to go there, since my Son took me there over 10 years ago. Because, He is in heaven now! Its was hard to go there. But now, I got to take his daughter there and his sister and niece there! So we had a very good dinner together there! ♡ Yes we will go back! Pretty good sit down restaurant for this area and the salad bar and buffet bar are always pretty good regarding quality of the food. Servers can sometimes be hit or miss but Ive been going to this location nearly 30 years and its been pretty consistently a good place to eat. Really the steaks and potatoes as well.

I had a T-bone steak, Side salad, dinner roll, and pop. Steak was delicious and cooked to preference. Waitresses are busy but easy to grab there attention. Overall a good experience, despite being completely confused, how to order/pairing sides, when standing at the cash register.

I truly dont know what has happened to the Ponderosa chain. They used to have the BEST buffets. The one in Elkview, WV is by far the best. Sorry, Ponderosa, your half cooked chicken, frozen boiled eggs, waxy green beens, and uncooked baked beans have given you one star.

Sometimes good , sometimes terrible. They Hardly replace food sometimes. Sometimes they do. Sometimes food is undercooked.Or.over cooked sometimes Rae bacon is a frequent.. breakfast is extremely cheap. Most.servers are extremely nice and friends . Beware new servers .

This restaurant sucks they have food thats not cooked right and they dont make it how u want it and u have to wait like 30 minutes on your food I would recommend going to a different place then here and the workers are rude to the customers

Just passing through, we stopped for dinner. The buffet is dirty and the selection was tiny. A stock pot of liquid cheese with sausage chunks counts as a soup. I ate maybe three things before I just couldnt take it anymore.

I didnt even want to give them one star but I cant rate without it. Packed, poor service, low quality food, cold steak. You want a real steakhouse? Check Colorado or Texas. The woman next to us said "like" about 100 times.

The ribeye steak I had was better than at Ruths Chris, my waitress was excellent. Overall a terrific experience. I travel and eat at high end places way more than I enjoy. This was an excellent meal for a low price!
