After running a few errands on the Northside we decided to stop for something to eat before heading home. In the spirit of trying new things we found this gem close by and decided to give it a try. When we arrived we found the place to be pretty busy. Almost every table had someone sitting at it - both inside and out. But we were in luck and there was a table for 2 available inside one of the rooms around the corner from the entrance. This table is in an odd spot if you ask me. Its nice because you have a window right next to the table - but yet its weird as on the other side of the window is another table for 2 outside on the patio. Someone dropped off two glasses of water but it took quite awhile before our server came over. When he finally did, he did apologize for the wait. We looked over the menu but I just couldnt decide what I wanted to eat. I was torn between the French toast or the BLT. Our server came back two more times before I finally decided. I am pretty sure my other half was getting annoyed that I could not make up my mind on what to get. I ended up going with the French toast after I saw another table order it! This location is an old home that has been turned into the cafe. I personally think its cute as they did a nice job with keeping it as close to period as possible. The floors look to be original as well and are quite lovely. When our food came out I was in heaven. The French toast is really thick, 6 halves and spiced nicely to keep you wanting more. I ordered as side of bacon as well - and it was nice that instead of just 3 slices like normal it was 4. Yes, that 1 extra makes the difference! The food was amazing. My other half got the turkey club and kept going on and on about how great it was! Overall this is a great place just about half a block south of the main strip in Broadripple. If youre in the area you owe it to yourself to check this place out. The service wasnt over the top amazing - but it wasnt bad either. I understand that they were busy so I was more forgiving of the delays in seeing our server. He was nice though and when we did get the chance to see him he kept drinks full and us taken care of.

I went with my entire family of five (me included) and while the majority of us were happy with what we ordered, I was not. I had half an order of the sausage beer biscuit with a side of calico potatoes. Holy hell, was that a mistake. Calico, more like cali-no. Cali-never again. They were incredibly dry, tasteless and it wasnt just me. I had my sister and pop try it and they had the same reaction. My dad said they tasted like they were from a box. The gravy on the drier than the sahara biscuit, I have no words for. Ill just go right into it: the consistency (watery), the awful taste (tangy and unfortunate), even the smell was off (horrible remniscent of my dogs diarrhea). At that point, mentally, I had given it two stars, simply because my sister, mother and father seemed very happy with their meals (they had omlettes and a sandwich). After I tried the pancakes though, I changed my mind. My petite grandmother decided to take on the extremely large pancakes and she let us all try some. They tasted like oil and nothing but oil. Bitter. Just, not good. Finally, the place lost its half star for uncleanliness. The table was sticky, which ruined my sleeve and the menu was covered in the viscous remains of god knows what. I would give it 0 stars but I google doesnt let me, but have no doubt that THAT is what I rate this restaurant. 0 stars. Maybe we came at an off-day. I will say that I took a minute to observe other people around me who happened to have ordered either the Calico potatoes or the biscuits and gravy and the biscuit people seemed to all share a similar "lemon face" reaction. However, when the waiters brought other people their calicos, they looked nothing like the ones I received. Mine looked a few days old, while other peoples looked freshly made. I have no idea who decided to give me the old potatoes but, they will rue the day they do that to someone who is not as politically correct as me.

I suppose I can assume the service was just "off" a bit for a Sunday afternoon. I can also assume that others kind of fell for the food due to quantity or semi-creative production. I guess I just...didnt. Or perhaps my expectations were too high. It was a wonderful experience out on the deck w/ a nice day, beautiful breeze, but everything else was off. I tried the DNai while my wife had the Cuban. We also had their Lemon Corn Cakes. As food goes, the Lemon Corn Cakes were delicious. It led us to believe the breakfast/brunch is probably more of their strong suit. The DNai was OK. But this is one of their special items theyre known for? I felt like it was a short trip to a pork tenderloin at the state fair. Dont get me wrong, I can/do enjoy those at times, I just expected more. Adding some sriracha improved the dipping sauce a bit, but still it was less than Id hoped. The ham tasted good in the way thanksgiving turkey tastes good (and similar) but on a sandwich it just wound up being a very simple flavor w/o nuance. The Cuban was better, but still just good. About an average cuban w/ some decent pickles and bread. But the mustard felt forced (and I *like* mustard). It seemed more that they would have success with more of an aioli or a pepper sauce than simple yellow mustard. What was strange is that they clearly go to some effort to make the foods visually appealing. Theres a myriad of colors and layout that looks interesting. As well, there is of course *plenty* to eat (you wont be hungry afterward). In the end, I just expected a better performance overall. The Lemon Corn Cakes definitely stood out, but the rest was only visually outstanding vs. taste. I dont expect them to go out of business. I think theyll continue to do well. Again, perhaps brunch/breakfast or the vegan options are more interesting, but our choices simply did not stand up to the expectation we had.

I came to 3 sisters twice during a one week period while visiting family in the area. The food is great, the customer service was very disappointing. During my first visit, I was seated outside and often felt forgotten by the waitstaff...it took too long to get coffee, order food, find someone from whom to request the check. The waitstaff really didnt seem happy to be there. The food was excellent, and the lemon curd corn cakes are amazing, however. At my second visit, I was also seated outside, and again, the waitress would disappear at long intervals. I ordered the lemon curd corn cakes and after about 25 minutes (with no food and no sign of her), my waitress appeared asking me if I was ready for my check. I told her that my food hadnt even come out yet. There was a mixup with my ticket...by that point I was done, told them to cancel my order, and walked to Starbucks. I am a huge supporter of local businesses, but this was ridiculous. Also agree with previous reviews that the cleanliness of the place leaves a bit to be desired. Great food overshadowed by poor service.
