We found this wonderful place by accident as there was so little open (other than chains which we avoid when we can) on Sunday evening. It really is a gem of a place with great food and a really warm welcome. The only menu is on a white board, there is only red or white wine - no wine list - and the menu is not extensive but wed definitely go back if we find ourselves in Bloomington again. Great soup, great veal and fish dishes in excellent sauces - no choice of vegetables or dessert but all were good. The owner is a great personality and makes dining there really special. The only slight criticism we had was that the plates were not warmed and we would have liked the soup and main course o be just a bit warmer. Highly recommended never-the-less.

Our experience here was wonderful! Everything they made was quality. You could tell they cared a great deal about the food they served. We had the cheese in pastry for and appetizer, it was fabulous! We then moved on to a steak dinner. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce they had on top was delicious. Our sides were generous and tasty. Our dessert was a custard and cookie soaked in brandy. Every element of the dessert melted in my mouth. My husband had a glass of red wine that was, you guessed it, delicious! I loved the French couple who owned the restaurant. You can tell it is there baby and they take great pride in it. They were very friendly, kind, and accommodating. I highly recommend coming here!

The owner was nice and took our order but then went to go sit with some other Francophones and completely ignored us. A waiter/son sat in the corner absorbed in his laptop and one had to go over to get his attention and when he delivered the mains he dropped the spoon into my plate and fished it out of the sauce with his own bare fingers. The mains were good but came with undercooked, unchewable cous cous (I think thats what it was). For desert we got a tired, dried out chocolate cake and a delicious raspberry cobbler. For the price, the experience was not terrible, I would go again if I were really hungry.

This food is honestly some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life. The first time I ate here, I ordered a steak. I was expecting something that I might get if I ordered at Outback or something, but what I got seemed like it was straight out of the Food Network. It honestly looked like something Gordon Ramsay might serve. Everything from the way it was presented on my plate to the way that it was prepared was bar-none the greatest steak I ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food is pure and exquisite, and the customer service is excellent.

I ordered the buffet from Le Petite. The chicken was terrible and fatty, the pasta bland and oily, the salad dirty and bitter, and the cheese pastry tasted of oil and cleaning solvent. Absolutely horrible. Ive never had worse food from a purportedly "high end" resturant. Id be ashamed of my work if I produced such awful fare. I have been sick all evening after eating their swill. On a lighter note, the crepe are okay. We will see if Im still sick tomorrow. I couldnt finish the food tonight if thats any indication. Stay away!!!!!

Absolutely perfect, food wise. Patrick stood out as an all star, took care of our every need carefully. I have worked at four restaurants (decades ago), and Le Petit far exceeds the best of them, including The Griswold Inn in Essex CT (began business in 1776, now owned by the Paul Brothers). That said, be careful about your bill. I signed my debt card bill for $68.48 on Nov 15. On Nov 18, when I returned home to Wisconsin, I learned that I paid $70.50 for the two meals.

Le Petit Cafe has an intimate and inviting atmosphere. Patrick and Marina, the owners, are active in cooking and serving. Patrick will sit down with you at your table to talk through the days menu options. The food was delicious at dinner. They also serve wonderful options on Saturday mornings out of the window along the B-Line Trail during the farmers market. Highly recommend the place as an experience, not just a meal. Bring good company and enjoy the evening.

The owners are some of the sweetest and most friendly people that youll ever meet. Every dinner eaten there is a treat, the food is cooked with sensitivity and love, and always a wonderful sauce to accompany. With the frequent menu changes you never know what culinary wonders youll be served on your visit, from the soup of the day to the beef, it cant be beat. Cant forget the desserts are exquisite, and dont forget the wine!

Decided to check out Le Petit Cafe after not being there for many years. You know this place has been in Bloomington forever. Our experience wasnt bad. But it wasnt as good as it was back in the day. Sorry to say, the food was good, but it wasnt great. The prices , we thought, were fairly high. I believe its the only French restaurant in town. If youre a big fan of French cuisine, by all means give it a try.

A Bloomington classic, simple francophone cuisine prepared home style and with an absence of pretension. A small daily rotating menu based on current market availability, but always some tricky decisions. Friendly owners who work the front and back of the house as a long term partnership. One visit and youll be at home.

They charged 2 mothers extra due to their very young babies making a fuss. She said it disturbed the other customers so that was her way of taking revenge. I would not refer this place to my worst enemy. Not only was this illegal, she also went on to post it on her business facebook page. Very unprofessional!

A favorite restaurant Ive returned to again and again over the years. Weve come to love so many cuisines from around the world that I sometimes have to remind myself how wonderful cooking from the Continent can be. When I think of it, I plan for plenty of time to enjoy a meal at leisure here.

Sunday Brunch was very, very good. So far our favorite dining experience in Bloomington. You enter through the kitchen of the converted house (I assume) and sit back while course after course of unpretentious food arrives. Cannot wait to go back.

My favorite place in town. The owners always make a point to be welcoming and gracious. Theyve even started to recognize us around town. Best food and service in Bloomington, hands down.

My husband and I had dinner here on a Thursday evening and loved it! Not only is the food wonderful, but the owners are delightful. The portions are large and appropriately priced.

Interesting that the website listed here on google maps for Le Petit Cafe in Bloomington, Indiana gives directions to find the place in Connecticut. Huh. How about that.

The food was good (we came for dinner on a Friday) although the service could be a little slow.
