Bloomington Sandwich Co. closed at 8 and we arrived at 8:15 the night that we went but the door was unlocked and people were sitting inside so we went in. The owner said that they were closed but he would be happy to make a to-go order for us. He is a genuinely nice guy and that does not go unnoticed in the restaurant biz. While we waited for our food the owner gave us samples of italian ice which were delicious. We will definitely get a cup of that next time. I ordered the greek salad, only because I was on a detox diet for the week (otherwise I would have definitely ordered a sandwich because they all sounded delicious). It was fresh and tasted good, but not great, which is understandable because it is not the Bloomington Salad Co. My girlfriend ordered the Chicago dog and a cup of the chili. We are both from the Chicago area and have been spoiled by Portillos, that being said it was still a good hot dog. The chili had a nice hearty texture and rich flavor as well. We will certainly visit Bloomington Sandwich Co. again and will order sandwiches. If they are as good as they look and sound, Ill have to change my review to 5 stars. I would recommend Bloomington Sandwich Co. for their friendly service and menu selection.

Recommend: Italian Beef, Reuben, or Btown Sub. Do not hesitate to go here. I cant bring myself to spend money on a sandwich anywhere else in town after eating here. I have friends who come down to Bloomington and its a tradition to eat here. The quality of their sandwiches are unbeatable and as the owner will tell you, they make Corned Beef and Italian Beef in house. (Their Reuben is the best Ive ever had.) The portion sizes are great, the prices are reasonable, the owner can be seen working most days and he is the epitome of customer service. I LOVE that they dont advertise and are a word-of-mouth restaurant. I really dont know how there isnt a line out the door everyday. After living here for two years and trying most places in town, I can now safely say this is my favorite restaurant in Bloomington.

The place is very modern and extremely clean. They had quick service and the staff were friendly and eager to help and offer answers to any questions about the menu. I got a cold sandwich (Turkey Provolone) and was able to select my own bread (Multigrain). The food was fresh and tasted great and equally proportioned toppings. I also got a side salad (Caesar). The lettuce was fresh and came with parmesan and croutons, both fresh and correctly proportional to the serving size. I would strongly recommend this place. I am unsure if they have gluten free, I had not been looking for that either though. They served us a sample of their Italian Ice (Lemon and Strawberry) when we had been close to finishing our meal, which I thought was so nice and it tasted great!!

I was very disappointed, my co-worker and I both ordered the Bacon Sandwich with 50% more bacon. There was only a few slices of bacon, very thin bacon, that is the pre-cooked kind. I just expected for a $7.49 sandwich there would be more than four thin sliced pieces of bacon folded over to give the illusion of having more bacon, especially since it was on a french roll. In the end all I tasted was the bread. Just a very disappointing sandwich from a place that is supposed to specialize in sandwiches. I am sure there are other great finds on their menu, but I will never order their BLTs again. I am still giving them 2 stars b/c their staff was very friendly.

I cant stress enough how awesome this place is. Great ingredients, hearty portions, and always geared toward making the best food possible. I always get the Bloomington Sub Sandwich with gardenaire peppers and hot pressed. Mike, the owner, is seriously one of the most dedicated people I have ever seen when it comes to his business. He not only takes making sure everyone is satisfied very seriously but also really embodies the kind of work ethic and commitment to quality that I hope to see from all local businesses. Also, he includes a pickle with each sandwich and I am firm believer that good sandwiches include pickles.

Some of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! The prices are not very expensive at all for the quality of the food you get. The staff there is super friendly. I have never been there when the owner wasnt working the register and providing amazing service. He always is doing whatever he can to make your experience there the best that it can be. To get anything close to this kind of quality, you have to go to feast, but there prices are twice as much as Bloomington Sandwich Co. and the staff there isnt as friendly. Cant recommend enough!!

Absolutely delicious! The sandwiches are so tasty. There is a gentleman who possibly owns the place, though Im not completely certain, but he is always incredibly friendly and doesnt ever seem to stop smiling. He gives such a strong positive vibe to the whole place, and is always quick to give a refill. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. My favorite here is the Bloomington Sandwich Co. Sub, give it a go and you wont be disappointed! Also, be sure to try the italian ice, it is always delicious!

As far as sandwiches go...you cant beat it in Bloomington. The prices are reasonable, the sandwiches are flavorful and interesting, and the service is great. Its a small place...so get there early if you want to beat the lunch rush! My favorite is the Mufaletta - if you like olives, its a must-try!
