It was OK. For being a burger specialty bar and grill, I expected to be floored. Regardless of restaurant, if you have a specialty item, it better deliver. TVs were not working. Outdoor covered patio area was "closed" on a perfect summer day. Just doesnt make sense. The low hanging fruit in terms of things needing obvious improvement should have been accomplished prior to launch. Beer menu was nice and balanced. Nice concentrated variety. Pils, IPAs, saison, hefeweizens, wheat, fruit, lagers, radlers, ciders, stout, and other craft hybrids. Mixed drinks also available. Second bar has been removed in favor of no additional seating. Pool tables and two arcade machines are available for use. Pinball and Ms Pacman and a coin machine. Interior uses a lot of black and other dark colors with cool hand painted murals throughout. Again while cool to look at, the place didnt feel welcoming and fun like it used to. The place was pretty clean. Bathroom was clean and nice still. Kitchen and backroom is split on two sides of building. I point this out because there is a rug that runs across the walkway where guests walk to the front and back of the house. Spills didnt all catch the rug and people kept slipping w near falls. Server was nice and was very prompt and attentive during our entire stay. Again, out of 5 of us, not one felt wowed by the burgers that they brag about. Wasnt bad, just not incredible as one would expect when being hailed as the main menu attraction. Its even hanging over route 47. I expect this place to get better, however, I could see why it may not get better either. Drink prices were normal and ok for craft beer. Nothing more to say on that. Overall: just "OK"

Called to make a reservation and made sure I specified I had a Special occasion. ..21st birthday ...party of 6. When we arrived the hostess said she gave our table away by mistake? ?? I gave our name so I dont know how that happened. We had 2 elderly people who need canes to assist them with walking. I was concerned about getting them a place to sit. She pointed toward the back and said there were chairs. I guess I am old fashioned but when I see two 70 + year old people hobbling in with canes (especially since SHE screwed up ) I would have escorted them. The only chairs we saw were barstools. No elderly person could get up onto one of those if they tried either. After about 10 minutes she came and got us but our table was a booth that barely fit us all. The waiter was very nice. He made great suggestions for the birthday boy. He also made great suggestions for food. The burgers were great. The appetizers were just okay. The prices are very expensive though. Our bill was $186 for 6 people!! If it werent for the waiter and the perfectly cooked flavorful burgers we would not be coming back.

I been to this place twice and wont be going back. Today a group of 3 of us went out for lunch... The waitresses never asked anyone how we wanted are burgers cooked. The over priced burgers came out cooked about as much as road kill. Im far from a picky eater and usually eat steaks and burgers medium or medium rare and i found these burger way to pink. Now i can respect the high quality beef that they have but what good is the quality if the burgers arent cooked how you like them or you arent asked how you would like your burgers cooked? We order 3 burgers and none of them showed up correctly. Every burger on the menu is between 12 and 15 dollars...BUT the kicker is the burger doesnt include fries or any other side. French fries cost another 4 bucks and if you want lime and hot sauce on your fries thats another 2 bucks and some change. If you decide to give the place a try i highly recommended telling them you want your burger well done... Thats if the waitress even bothers to ask you.

The food here used to be incredible! However, as of late, the burger are not as impressive. This place is always exciting to me because theres regularly something new to try. They offer about 9 different kinds of burgers and I can never make a bad choice because they are all good. The burger range from $10-$14 and comes with fries. You can pay an extra $2 for either garlic butter or valentina & lime sauce and I love the valentina & lime with the fries. Truffle Mac n Cheese $14 - Soooo good. Its creamy and I just love the slight hint of truffle flavor. Chicken & Waffle (breakfast) $13 - The seasoning on the wings was amazing!! There are 6 wings on top a giant delicious waffles served with a side of honey butter and syrup. Burger & Waffle (breakfast) $14 - This dish comes with burger patty, bacon and fried egg ontop of a giant waffle. They have a small parking lot and there are free street parking nearby.

I had heard nothing but awesome personal experiences about Crusade, so I thought it was time to take a drive. My wife and I had an early dinner at Crusade today and we both decided that it lived up to the hype. We were greeted very genuinely and happily upon entry. It was not crowded for our early dinner, so service was prompt and Jenn did an awesome job running down the menu items and describing the weekly special that wasnt listed on the menu. Most importantly though was whether or not the burger lived up to the ambiance and friendly staff... It sure did. Usually ordering a medium rare burger is a roll of the dice. Not today. It came back perfect. The quality of beef used is what will keep people coming back who respect good quality ingredients. I will definitely be checking back in to Crusade to check out the drink selection on another night that I do not have to go in to work!

We stopped in for lunch on our way out to Silver Springs State Park . Its family friendly which is nice so we didnt feel awkward bringing our newborn to a bar. They have a kids menu as well. The craft beer selection is pretty good. They have wine on tap which we found to be pretty funny! The burgers are solid and we both enjoyed them a lot. The crispy mashed potatoes were pretty good as well. The sides are different, like the jar of pickled veggies. The place is much better than "bar food" and theres a lot of creativity here. We had a bar in the Lincoln Sq we used to frequent called the Bad Apple that Crusader Burger reminded us a lot of. Think sort of Kumas Korner if youve ever been to something like that. Anyways we look forward to going back next time were in the area, Im anxious to try the mac n cheese.

I used to go here often when it was Barley Fork. The new owners kept the decor the same but basically painted skulls all over the place. The menu is kind of jank as it looks like they just had a 7th grader make a bunch of photocopies of the menu. Some of them are mis-aligned and graphics are cut out. The menus come to you on a clip board. They have a decent beer selection which is nice, but both beers we ordered were borderline warm. Buzz kill. The food was decent, but again warm at best. They made a pretty good burger, I would say better than average. However, it did not leave me craving to come back anytime soon. All in all, I see myself coming here once a year if I happen to be in town but I will not be making any special trips.
