We hosted a surprise 65th wedding anniversary party for my parents in the banquet room at Docks and the whole event from start to finish was fantastic thanks to Cheryl Nelson, the banquet manager. Cheryl made it her personal mission to ensure everything went smoothly, responded to my numerous emails and requests, came in on her day off to help me with decor, assisted with planning a customized menu and even enlisted the help of her husband to make sure the DVD we created worked properly on their equipment. The food was fantastic (everyone commented) and the service was great. Even her young son came in during the party and helped serve the cake. We could not have been happier and will always treasure the memory of this very special event honoring our parents. Thank you!!!

I am new in town and stopped by Docks with my wife as it is always busy on the weekends so we thought it would be really good. The atmosphere was good, with friendly staff and a good mix of patrons. The view put over the lake was sublime and relaxing. Food was about what youd expect of a lakeside bar and grill. The price, on the other hand was what you would expect of a fancy restaurant in downtown San Diego. I expected about $60-70 for me and my wife, having ordered two appetizers, two entrees and one drink each. We were greeted with a bill well over $100. If there was going to be a next time I would stick to the bar and have a liquid lunch, but there wont be unless the prices drop drastically. Its a buzz kill for such a great location and atmosphere.

Didnt find anything positive except the lake view. The food price range is somewhat on the high end "bar and grill" places, while the food quality... Its like the fries from the bag from walmart, and chicken wings fried in 3 day old oil. Ive been there on Monday, and probably most of the food are leftovers from the weekend and the oil in the fryer wasnt changed in a while. Horrible. Walmart-style fries served on the old lettuce leaf (you know greenish-brownish). Flies around the place. It was a second time I did give the chance to this place. Never anymore. I dont know what people doing there on the weekends. Probably its ok if you drink the beer from the bottle in the outside bar.

Used to Love it there. They seem to have let some pretty shady type characters in. Hitting on others wifes at times, which should never happen more than once, while not sitting on bar, facing the lake which is why we come. Then we get upset and try to get help with no avail. Staff is young, have no clue what to do in a problem situation. Called police to help, the owner thought it was fair to make all involved leave,. The man was so drunk and hanging on a women. Very creepy stuff goes on there. Never will come back with how things have deteriorated over the last couple years. Love you Linseys. No Riff Raff there and the service is much much better

Cant say enough about how fantastic Docks banquet facility and staff are! Our party was fantastic. Cheryl, the banquet manager, did an outstanding job from the time I booked, through the planning and then the event itself. Everything went flawlessly…the food and service were great. They were very accommodating about letting us decorate the room, and helping us out with special requests. And, you cant beat the view of beautiful Bangs Lake! Very reasonable prices too! Highly recommend this as a perfect spot for a fun and memorable occasion. Many thanks to Cheryl, Elena and the rest of the staff for making our event so special!!

This was the place to be last summer. Food was always good and it was a place to meet friends and family to throw down a couple. When they changed chefs to the current regime, NOTHING is fresh and everything tastes bad! All the good crew is gone. The only thing left is uninterested wait staff and bartenders. When asked in 2010 and before I would have HIGHLY recommended Docks to everyone!!! Now Im asked in 2011 and I tell everyone to go to either Lindys for the Lake experience or J & Ds for the party experience. From someone who frequented Docks 3-5 times a week. I will NOT be going back there anytime soon!!!

We visited for first time and had apprehension due to comments about service and food. The six of us had a great time, with very professional and timely service (thanks, Linda C) and found the servings to be large and delicious. Several had requested unique (non-standard) orders, and each was delivered perfectly. Prices were a little on the high side, but the value for the variety and quantity was very good. Several of the ladies had to request boxes to take excess home. We will definitely revisit Docks when in the area again!

Manage your weekend expectations. Ate in the dining room, and definitely felt like the dining room was completely back burnered for the patio area. Waited 2 hours for burgers and Mac n cheese! They got multiple aspects of our order wrong including burgers being overcooked. Dont order the cheese curds, there were less than 20 and theyre clearly frozen out of a bag from GFS or something, not worth $9 for sure. Adult Mac n cheese was good. Would probably go back on a nice night for a drink outside, but definitely not to the dining room.

Fun place to have a drink and enjoy live music. But the service can be ridiculously slow on weekend nights, for food and drinks, and if you go to sit and eat on a Friday or Saturday night, forget about eating in less than an hour...we waited 35 mins for our food, we couldnt find our waiter for drinks, and had to flag down anther server for help. Then ended up having to get our own drinks. Plus, they dont sell pitchers of beer, which I dont care for. Beers seem over priced for a local bar and there never seem to be any specials.

My family has eaten there on several occasions and have always been pleased. It is couple friendly, group friendly and even baby friendly because there is just enough noise that no one notices a small child.....great for new parents that just need a night out!!! The food is tastey and the service is comparable to any other family restaurant (ie: Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays, etc.). The view from the decks and restuarant are great! Average plate price is $$-$$$

When I received my ordered, strawberry spinach salad with chicken, the centers the strawberries were obviously carved out, indicating that the berries were beginning to rot. One strawberry even had mold on it! Although the waiter apologized, I am disgusted that I was being tricked into eating rotten produce. Fruit that is rotting should never be eaten because the pathogens travel throughout the fruit. Rotting fruit should never be served in ANY restaurant.

This restaurant suffers from a terrible management team starting with the owner who has no idea how to utilize his employees. You will be lucky to find the same wait staff person from year to year because it seems easier to blame them for any problems than it does to fix or address the actual problem. This is a beautiful location and would do well to learn how to manage its employees in order to give the customers the service they deserve.
