First Review- Awesome Mumbaiyya/Gujarat taste pav bhaji after a long time! Edit-05/08/2016- Second Review- Reducing from 5 starts to 2 stars. Took my colleague over here expecting the authentic Mumbai pav bhaji taste that we got in the initial few days when this joint started and we were given a dry stale tasting pav bhaji with overbaked butterless pav-not at all worth for the money you charge! Also, like the others have mentioned over here, they have a problem managing the wait times when the restaurant is full. I think one of the causes of this problem is they reserve tables over phone for people and people turn up late-all the while the tables stay empty while other customers are waiting outside! It is a bad idea to reserve tables when the size of your restaurant is so small and people are waiting out! However, we werent minding the wait times until now, as long as the taste was authentic, but the last visit killed the deal for me! Please go back to the authentic taste else it would be difficult to survive!

I purchased 4 regular pav bhajis to go yesterday and was rushing since they were about to close for their break at 3. They didnt offer me a receipt and since I was rushing I stupidly forgot to ask for it myself. They gave me extra pav. and if I got 4 bhajis I should have been charged less and as I was driving from there, it occurred to me that without me even asking they gave me extra pav and obviously charged me for it. Had I known they are giving me extra I would have said no. I had regular sliced bread available at the place I was going to be eating and would have just eaten my bhaji with that instead of getting charged without knowing for the damn pavs. I am just upset that they sneakingly made more money off me- I almost was contemplating to call at them to let them know how messed up they behaved but then I thought ill do this next time I go in there. IF YOU GO THERE MAKE SURE TO GET A RECEIPT especially for take out orders.

The restsurant is called Honest. Who are they trying to fool? The name should be called DisHonest restaurant. I went during lunch. The plain dosa was excellent, crispy and very good. The sambar was very good but dont know if they are adding sugar or corn syrup to it or using tomato sauce that has corn syrup. They need to list the ingredients to let us know what they are using especially in this day and age of GMO crops and the dangers of sugar. The tea was not good at all and quite disgusting. It is like the American Chai tea that you get from dunkin donuts. It was probably powdered tea and disgusting. This is not indian chai. I will go there again but definitely not order the tea unless they change it to indian tea. I order samusas and they said they ran out. The price of two samusas is $4. This is way too expensive for two samosas.

For those who did not grow up on Indian food, I think this is a great experience to try. This was my first experience eating this type of Indian food. The food is more of snack food. I believe the entire menu is vegetarian. The restaurant is very clean and the smell of spices is not so overpowering that you believe that it will cling to your clothes. We had three items - masala dosa, mixed uttapam, and a cheese and chutney sandwich. We loved the masala dosa. The dosa was thin and crispy which went well with the flavorful potatoes. The combination went great with all of the dipping sauces. I was disappointed in the sandwich but that may be because I perceived the image as a grilled cheese and it was not. In my opinion, the uttapam was very bland even with the dipping sauces.

One of the finest restaurant in Illinois area. I had try all most everything here. Everything taste fantastic. Reminds me the good old taste of Ahmedabad honest. I must say there is no change in taste of all their items. My most favorite items are pav bhaji , cheese pulav. Such an authentic taste. Honest has kept their taste alive. Service: staff is really friendly. Service is excellent. A very very friendly place to be with family and friends. Service is really fast and they listened to their customer properly and served according to the customers expectations. I have been coming here since the day this place open. I should say its my weekend place to hang out. And I highly recommend this place to have good Indian street.

Chaat menu is limited compared to the places nearby but they have more snack foods and lunch items. Honest is more expensive than the the other places too but the food is excellent with a lot of attention to plating/presentation. Its all fresh tasting but the wait times are long, even for simple items. I stuck to the cheaper sandwiches and chaat which were both excellent. pav bahji seems to be the specialty here with options starting at 9 bucks. Inside is clean and modern however the music is extremely loud. Overall a welcomed addition to the area and a great veg only lunch option.

I highly recommend this place for authentic Indian food. Waited for sometime to get seated on Sunday night but it was worth. We went in a big group hence tried multiple items and and loved all of them. I ordered Mysore Masala Dosa- Spicy and Yummy, and tasted Masala Pav, biryani and Uthpam from my friends order and just loved it. And to end if you can get the Meetha Pan :-) then nothing like it. I hope Honest open ups in Downtown soon and wish for same quality food on every visit!!!

Great taste and quality food but Cashiers and Food prepares makes mistakes on my order every time i have gone there. So i highly recommend you check your receipts and also make sure you have received your full order. There is one guys who is really nice who always takes care of order for everyone but rest of the folks are terrible. This guy i dont know his name but he is young and always near the register counter and running around helping everyone.

worst service ever. We came from omaha to visit this place. When we went to this place they said it will be 30 minutes wait time. After 30 mins we went there and asked and they again said that it will still be 30 minutes wait. After an hour wait we asked again they said more 30 mins. And the guy was so rude he didnt even care and start shouting at us. We just stormed out of there. If you have self respect please dont go to this place ever.

Pretty standard fare...we tried 3 different things on the menu and all were average or below average. We had gone on a Thursday night and did not have too many guests, so service was quick and the staff was polite. The layout of the joint is a mess and definitely needs an improvement. Price wise, it is just okay but could have been a value for money if the taste was better. Biggest disappointment was the Bhaji Pav.
