The restaurant is beautiful the food was great but the service was lack luster. This was our first time coming here. When asked where we wanted to be seated, we didnt know! So the waitress lead us to a back area behind the bar. Now! for my first time here you think she should want to sit us near the chefs! Right? Ok well that may seem a little petty but I did not want to sit in the back. Okay now as for our server, I dont know why she wasnt attentive. but that kind of put a damper on the experience. It was crappy service. It was a Sunday evening there was no crowd and yet we kept looking for our server. Idk! Maybe she was having an off evening. I will however be returning because like I said the food was good and the ambiance is nice. Ill give it another chance and see if I get a better server if not Ill probably just order carry out

If you dont mind waiting an hour for overpriced sushi then this is the place for you. Mondays and Tuesdays are your best bet because they have 1/2 priced rolls from 3-6pm. I wouldnt know though... because somehow our food just missed the happy hour specials... Our drinks were able to make the specials though! (Yay...) We had a 530 reservation and the place was empty, so Im not sure why they had difficulty entering in our order right away, but oh well. So we ended up with $60 bill for two 8pc rolls and two drinks. Aside from that, the sushi was very good. Management was ehh. Overall, wasnt very impressed.

The food was delicious but very over priced for the portion size. We had the steak appetizers. Having 6 small thin slice of meat. I believe it was like 2 oz or less of meat. The menu can be deceiving. A stone plate is different than hot rocks. Octopus salad does not mean squid salad. Having what seems like 6 oz of salmon for $24 for dinner is over priced. That should be lunch for that size. Putting it on a extra extra large plate does not make it look bigger. The sushi was worth the price. $80 later we went to Chinatown to grab some more food. Overall beautiful place but not worth the price.

While the atmosphere is what you would expect, we got sat right in between two very loud tables. It was almost as if we all came and sat together. Not what you want for date night. Our server was very inattentive. After setting down our drinks, and having been ready to order before she took our drink order, she immediately turned around and started taking the drink order for a table that was just sat down. I thought that was pretty rude or inexperienced behavior. I got charged $5 each for 2 cups of tea, thought that was odd. Would not recommend and will not be going back.

we were going to try the unlimited sushi but the service was so slow we waited 45 minutes and we only got 3 rolls for two people! when we tried ordering another batch of rolls and we waited another hour for nothing! the server said the sushi maker was just about to make our next order. it was so slow i am very disappointed im never going back here. worst all you can eat sushi experience ever. he didnt even offer anything to make our experience better. instead he was being rude about it and said well if you were to buy each roll your total would be 45 dollars for 3 rolls.

In all honesty, the food was not what I expected from a restaurant like this. The fried rice had an odd taste to it and it was my first time there. When I mentioned that, the host simply explained the difference between "roll" "sashimi" "and "sushi". Not the lunch menu or what it had to offer. I ended up getting the teriyaki New York strip steak because that was safest bet for me. It was cooked how I liked it, just underwhelming. It was not an experience that I enjoyed.

Overpriced for the amount and quality of the food served. I ordered the Filet Mignon with the fried rice and it comes with veggies and my $28 plate had the exact same amount as my daughters plate from the Kids menu but at least she got a cup of fruit on the side. The food was served in a timely manner but it wasnt hot just barely warm. I would not go back and I dont recommend.

My family and I have eaten at Dao several times since it has opened for dinner and lunch. The service has been great and the food has been perfect. Weve mainly ordered many of the different sushi rolls and havent been disappointed. Everything tastes fresh and is actually presented very well. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Dao to any of my friends, family, or clients.

I am very critical of my sushi. There are quite a bit of bad sushi places out there. Dao isnt one of them. I came for lunch and had their all-you-can-eat. I wasnt disappointed. The fish was noticably fresh. They have massive special rolls (2 in thick, 8 pieces). Flavor was incredible. The Dynamite Scallop appetizer was incredible. Definitely coming back!

I mean we went at 2:45 for a late lunch and there was no one there, we were the only ones in the resturant, had the miso soup, tasted like someone boiled a hotdog in water and poured it into fancy bowl. The Angel Fest roll was good, not outstanding, but still had what i wanted. Overall kimd of an awkward experience.

restaurant looks great. Service is great. Food is amazing. If you are getting some sushi rolls ask if they have any that are not on the menu. They sometimes have ones that have not been put on the menu yet that are amazing.

Worst tom yum on the planet. The food is as laughable as the empty setting. Hot Sake is room temp... hot eel is room temp... this place will soon be gone, so dont bother helping a dying restaurant in its death throws.

Food was great, but it did take too long for the food to come out. There werent many people for them to have taken so long, for 2 sushi rolls. Although it took awhile for us to get our food, Id still recommend it.

Very good sushi as well as a nice display of it very pricy tho but luckily for our party we had a Groupon probably the only time I would consider paying the amount of a satisfying meal is with a Groupon
