This place is absolutely amazing. The coffee is spot on and the waffles are some of the best Ive had. Ive recently read that the owners plan on shifting the cafe to a restaurant. I love the idea, however Oak Park is seriously struggling to keep a well done, gourmet coffee shop. And though I love Ethiopian food, I think the better business prospect is a coffee house. We all know that operating a restaurant carries slimmer profit margins, more operations, staff, and risk of food inventory spoiling. Coffee businesses are easier to streamline and market to a broader customer base. The coffee business they run today is awesome, and improving daily. I would hate to see something going so well drift to something else. In the mean time, I hope they read my review and consider the restaurant/coffee market and business economics of their options. Having lived here my entire life (27 years) the trend is that food restaurants come and go quickly and there is never a great coffee shop.

Ive lived in Oak Park my entire 21 years of living & just recently started going. After my first visit of getting an iced honey vanilla late, my order is memorized from easy ice to the owner politely correcting my "late" to an "iced honey vanilla". True gem of Oak Park. A little pricey for a 16oz but the coffee is so worth it. Havent tried the waffles but if its as delicious as the coffee, WILL get them soon. Id consider myself a regular thats become memorable to this establishment.

Ive had the best coffee here in my life. Idk how but they make the best americanos for me. Usually coffee has a burnt taste in my mouth but theirs is really smooth and delicious. They have true craftsmanship there. Plus the waffles were good too. I had mine to go so i didnt get the real experience. Still golden brown and fluffy though.

Love this place! Coffee is great, service is personal and great, the waffles and other items are top notch. I long to go there some winter day when theres 2 feet of new snow on the ground and lazily sit in the warm indoors sipping coffee half the morning.

I was hesitant to go to a place that doesnt have a website and only serves waffles, coffee, and chai. But the food and chai was FANTASTIC. Im looking forward to great service and delicious waffles again.

Every time, I come to Addis, the service is always warm and personal and the menu keeps you coming back. The Cayenne Mocha is my favorite. Addis fits well into all that is Oak Park!
