Omega Restaurant & Bakery is a large diner/ restaurant serving the suburb of Niles. It is located in the middle of the Golf Glen Mart shopping center. This is a family restaurant where many locals come to for various occasions due to its incredible large Greek-style menu and its large seating areas. When you arrive at Omega, there is a spacious seating area for those waiting to get a table. Omega is a large restaurant broken up in several sections. There are two large dining areas on each side of the building. In the center is the large display case of all their pastries and baked desserts. The diner is right in the center at the far wall. There is also a small bar across the cashier for drinks. This review will be for its diner. Stopped by on a Sunday to have their patty melt, a personal favorite of mine. Sitting at the diner and getting service is pretty seamless. The waitress quickly greeted me and took my soft drink order. Knowing what I wanted I quickly placed my order with her. This place is normally busy on Sundays, especially around noon. However, this place is used to being busy as food is quickly moved from the service area to the floor. A deluxe sandwich comes with a bowl of soup, french fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. There are normally four soups of the day, each made daily. I chose the creamy chicken rice which arrived right after I ordered as well as a basket of rolls. The soup is creamy and not thin and runny like some other soups from other places you can tell came from a can. The rice in the soup has structure to it indicating the rice itself is made daily as well. The chicken is the soup is plentiful as well. White meat chicken is used in the soup. The soup out hot and ready to eat. My order arrived just as I was finishing my soup. The bread was perfectly toasted. The grilled onions were perfectly caramelized. I ordered the burger to be medium rare, and it was served to me medium rare. The American cheese bonded the ingredients together as I bit into it. The burger was moist as the bread was crispy. The caramelized onions added a hint of sweetness to the melted cheese. The fries were ,as always, hot and crispy. Omega goes with the smaller cut french fries. The pickle was crunchy and while the coleslaw was lite and refreshing. The only issue I have with Omega is the price. This sandwich comes to about $12 including taxes. This place is bit pricier for its sandwiches as opposed to other diners serving similar food. However, with the great service and consistency with their food products, Omega is a nice place to stop by at any time of the day.

This was the most absurd, unruly and indecent restaurant around. Ive never felt like someone spit on me until I came there. I was in front of the bakery area about 10 minutes waiting to be served. I asked again where can I place my order? When I finally got to the area to place my order I waited another 10 minutes for a waitress. The waitress comes over I ask her how much is a tuna croissant sandwich? She replied I dont know whatever the menu says. I explained to her it was my first time in there. If I was not ordering for my pastor I would have left. I observed several workers walk around me doing nothing. When I finally got my order placed I went to ladies room it was filthy only one sink working. I come out to here the waitress saying monkey and acting like one. I was humiliated and praying this lady who prepared my food was not speaking of me. A Caucasian gentleman came in was served right away. She made sure someone was attentive to him. The waitress gave me the receipt, my food and walked away. She didnt tell me you have to go to another area and pay. I talk to the manager he was not any better because his apology didnt seem genuine. I felt he was trying to get rid of me. I will never go there again. I ordered a piece of cake it was horrible and dry. Who could mess up chocolate? They didnt deserve any stars for the horrific service. Thumbs are definitely down.

YOU WOULD THINK THAT AN ORDER OF PANCAKES WOULD BE A NO-BRAINER, BUT NOT FOR OMEGA. THERE PANCAKES ARE EITHER PRE-MADE AND FROZEN AND HEATED UP WHEN YOU ORDER, OR ARE DIE-CUT WITH MACHINES FROM SHEETS OF SOME SORT OF INSULATING FOAM. THERE PANCAKES REMINDED ME OF THE MATERIAL THEY USE TO MAKE GASKETS FOR INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY. NEXT, RIDDLE ME THIS BATMAN, WHEN IS A GREEK OMELET NOT A GREEK OMELET? ANSWER: WHEN YOU ORDER IT AT OMEGA. THERE GREEK OMELET ONLY COMES WITH CHEESE. WTF?! A GREEK OMELET IS FETA, SPINACH AND TOMATO, SOMETIMES GYRO MEAT. BUT AT OMEGA YOU DONT FIND THAT OUT WHEN THEY BRING IT TO YOU. "NOPE, THATS IT" WAS THE MANAGERS EXPLANATION. WHY DOES SOME IRISH BOY NEED TO TELL GREEKS HOW TO MAKE A GREEK OMELET?! WHAT ARE THEY SAVING BY CUTTING OUT THE OTHER GREEK OMELET INGREDIENTS...MAYBE 12c. DINER TO DINER ADVICE: MAKE BREAKFAST AT HOME OR MICROWAVE SOME PANCAKES OVER AT THE GAS STATION OR GO TO MCDONALDS WHICH SUCKS, BUT AT LEAST YOU KNOW WHAT YOURE GETTING FOR YOUR MONEY. SO WHAT IF SOME THINK OMEGA IS CHEAP (NOT--$26 W/O TIP, FOR BREAKFAST FOR 2 IS NOT CHEAP) YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS CHEAP?--EATING AT HOME. OMEGA IS RESTING ON THEIR PAST. CUTTING CORNERS=CUTTING CUSTOMERS

What an utter disappointment. Arrived relatively early this morning and should have walked out after the sticker shock. I ended up going with the 2x2x2 for $8.35. The bacon is obviously not cooked to order, as it was served cold and they knowingly only put 3 tablespoons of gravy on the biscuits. Its just enough to cover the biscuit, but certainly not enough to add any real flavor. My biscuits were overcooked on the grill too. I also feel if theyre going to serve complimentary fruit and cake, it should be palatable. The honeydew wasnt ripe and was full of seeds. The day old sheet cake with the hard icing was no treat either. I used to enjoy my visit here, but I certainly dont feel any urge to return. I brought all this to the waitress and managers attention and all I got was a bunch of excuses. "The fruit is complimentary." "You can always ask for more gravy." "Did you bring this to your servers attention?" I did once she finally made an appearance and I was nearly finished. I did finally get an "Im sorry" after I overpaid $12 for coffee and a below average breakfast... it would have been a kind gesture and been meaningful if the manager offered me a complimentary coffee.

I have just visited the place for my B-Day and will never do it again. Nasty, dirty, obscure, outdated, stinky place, Id close this place if I had the authority. Dirty and dusty windows ledges with a dead bugs inside lamps, hanging right above your tables- UNACCEPTABLE. I ordered onion soup and it was the worst thing I have ever eaten; salty, with no taste of onion whatsoever, with some cheese melted on top so it could cover the cloudiness of the "soup". Than I ordered dish of the day: wild caught salmon with portobella mushrooms- I got sick the same night after eating it. Also ordered bbq chicken wings for my kid and I received fried chicken breast sticks instead, I did not say a word, my kid decided to eat it anyways- the same evening my 8 y.o. started going through stomach issues till the next day. My wife ordered a tomato soup with rosemary, and she couldnt finish it because the "soup" tasted like squeezed and boiled rotten tomatoes with jelly-like consistency and some noddles to hide the nastiness of it. Terrible, terrible, terrible, not enough words to describe the loathsomeness of this place. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY.
