Ive been coming to this restaurant for years with my family. Today i had an extreme craving for their strawberry crepes (pregnancy cravings). First few bites were good, until i found a piece of plastic. I thought, okay that was gross but i took it out of my mouth and set it aside. The next bite had 3 more pieces of plastic. They were lucky i didnt throw up right there and then. I told the waiter what happened, he took the food back along with the napkin that had the regurgitated plastic to show his manager. When he came back he said his manager doesnt know how that could happen but took it off the bill. Honestly the whole bill should have been free. Who knows how many pieces of plastic i ate before that. I sure hope this doesnt make me or the baby sick after today. Needless to say, after 13 years, i wont be going back.

I cant say I hated this place since I liked the idea of the menu but the service was seriously lacking. We did show up at 2pm but the sign said they were open until 4pm so it might have been an off day since they were dead. The bacon was good which was the whole reason we came to this restaurant after reading the rave reviews but undercooked pancakes just doesnt do it for me. After noticing we had dirty silverware our server was no where to be found and when he did show up, to drop the off bill. He said nothing and proceed to leave the restaurant and drive away. In the middle of the meal they decided to start cleaning around us, basicly mopping under our feet. When we were done, no one was around to help get a to go box or to pay the check. Besides the creepy man who could give us the death stare and thats it.

This place used to be one of my favorites. I may never go there again after my last visit. First of all, it took no less than 15 minutes to get service after being seated. I finally went to the hostess and SHE took my order. Of course there was no "Childs portion served to my 5 year old son, and I was overcharged. I tied to tell the other lady at the register to get it adjusted (almost an hour after I sat down, with no real assistance from wait staff the whole time) and she was chatting away on the phone, oblivious to my trying to get her attention. The decor is tired, and the place is starting to get dirty. This is a shame because we used to go there a couple of times a month.

There are many other restaurants that are better. There was nothing that was a stand out from our meal and it was $40 for 2 salads, one cup of soup, and 2 iced teas. The Italian wedding soup had large slices of kielbasa instead of little meatballs and barely any greens. One salad was missing avocado and when we pointed it out, the waitress argued with us. We verified on the menu later that it was supposed to be in the salad, but let it go. We just wont be back. There is an IHOP a mile away where you can get a better tasting meal for $24.

The food is great, but the service is frankly racist. If you are a young minority under thirty they will treat you like garbage. When the host took us to our table, she didnt even say anything - instead she beckoned us with her hands like we were dogs. Our waiter then proceeded to ignore us the entire time while chatting up everyone around us. This establishment clearly had an agenda and made it obvious we were not welcome. Its too bad, the food is great. Wont ever be coming back.

Lovely gem of a cafe! Warm inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff! Huge menu to choose from. Online there is not a kids menu...but they do have one. My son ordered the junior pancake w/eggs & got 3 good-sized pancakes! I ordered the specialty (apple pancake). Takes 30 minutes to cook, but it is worth it!! Its the size of the plate & loaded with baked apples & cinnamon. Mouth-watering good!! Bathrooms very nice & clean, smelled nice too. Highly recommend this wonderful place.

“"Good service and Good food "” I ordered the Captain Crunch French Toast. I also had eggs and bacon. Good choice the French Toast had fresh strawberries was very fresh. Good service had my coffee cup full at all times. When I walked in the smell of bacon is always a good sign. Great place to stop in for breakfast. I will be back.

Ive been going to Pancake Cafe almost every week for more than 5 years for a business meeting. The food is always fresh, hot & consistent and the service wonderful. They treat me like family, know my name & know what Ill most likely order! Great place for good breakfast! (My favorite is their fruit crepes... Yummy!)

We live almost two hours away and have to visit Madison somewhat frequently and we and the kids always choose Lazy Janes. It has a great atmosphere and superb food. The kids always enjoy their food although the portion sizes might be a bit on the generous side - Id love it if a smaller version, for a little less...

Been eating here for over fifteen years and the food is great. Yes, it is pricey, but this is Naperville and not Joliet, and the food is always good. I have eaten at other places that tend to be hit or miss, but this place is always spot on. I do not think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

Warm, lovely service and the best crepes ever. Its a tossup what to order because there are so many favorites on the menu but I inevitably get a big glass of fresh orange juice and strawberry crepes. Family run business and always a warm welcome. Definitely my go-to place for comfort food.

The food is fresh and the portions are heafty. I have been dining here for breakfast for years. I come back because of the friendly service, the high quality food, and it is a clean place to dine. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.

Good service but terrible food. My sons pancake had a printed number on it from the bag it was microwaved in. Yes microwave pancakes from a place called Pancake Cafe. My family of 4, with two 7 years old, spent over $40 on breakfast.

This is a very good place to set up group meetings, initial meetings, or have a casual meal. The food venue is broad and something for anyone can be found. They are willing to make changes to your meal to accommodate you.

Was there with family. Half the ordered the Baked Apple Pancake and the others the Baked Banana & Pecan Pancake. They are amazing, but stick with the small portion, unless you are sharing....the normal size was HUGE.

This place was great! Many reviews complain about small portions but you have to be able to eat a ton for breakfast if you could finish one of theirs. Their portions are very generous and the quality of food is great!

Service and food sucked. Expensive too. We arrived at 7 am. Breakfast did not arrive till 7:38 am. The food was cold. People who arrived at least 10 minutes after us got their food before us.
