Wow. Its been a while since Ive had such a bad experience at a restaurant. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, I would give it no stars if I could. The food was awful. I ordered the pulled pork waffle and I couldnt eat more than a bite. In fact, the smell of it was so off putting, when the waiter came back to the table, I skied him to take the whole plate away with the food barely touched. He obviously could care less about his patrons, because he didnt even ask me if the food was okay or if he could get me anything else. My husband ordered the Nothern fish and chips, which was average, and then a soup and house salad on the side. My husband did say he liked the cheese and beer soup, but I wasnt a fan. When my husbands meal came, he was missing the coleslaw that came with the plate and the salad was in its place. Our kids ordered a kids meal each from the menu (they ordered grilled cheese). The grilled cheese was not very kid friendly, slices of bread that was so toasted, my son could barely bite through it. The worst was when the bill came. We were charged for each of my kids drinks (milk), even though the kids menu states that each meal comes with a drink. My husband was going to be charged for the salad, even though when he asked the waiter why he didnt receive the coleslaw, the waiter stated that he substituted it for the salad (the waiter never asked if that was what my husband wanted). So we had to ask to make sure that we werent charged for it. I was charged for a refill of my nonalcoholic drink and the waiter did not let me know that it was not free refills before he brought it to me. And of course, I was charged the full amount for the whole plate of food that I barely touched. Service was lackluster and apathetic, the food was subpar, and the pricing/billing was unethical. I highly DO NOT recommend this place.

Food prep could be better - read on. I ordered the dark flight of four. The glass of the Broad Axe was 1/3 head on top. Not a full four ounce glass of beer that I would expect. My wife and I ordered the bowl of onion soup. Hot, rich and beefy. Very good. My wife ordered the Bennie Mac and Cheese. Very good, but the piece of toast that came with it was over done and dry, mostly air as far as bread goes. Flavor was good though. I ordered the Short Ribs per the recommendation of our waitress, vs. the bone-in ribeye. I should have gone with the ribeye. The portion was small - three ribs, maybe three to four ounces of total meat. Throughout, I kept tasting/chewing on tiny bone fragments, like you might find in cheap hot dogs or sausage. I know from experience this is ONLY a result of poor preparation. Bony meat cuts should ALWAYS be scraped with a knife, sharp spatula or other appropriate device before cooking to minimize the leftovers from the cutting process. I needed to use a sharp toothpick at home to remove the last piece from one of my molars. We would still return to try different menu items.

We drove a fair distance to have dinner at this obviously (very busy) trendy restaurant with several close friends. I should start by saying the greeting and service staff were very friendly and did a great job. It was the food that was a disappointment. I started with the Tomato Gin Soup, which was flavorful. My entree was Blackened Mahi, which the description on menu describes as being topped with crab meat (not that I tasted or saw) and a Creole sauce. The Mahi was way over-grilled, to a point of being dry. Im not sure where to start with the Creole sauce. To be fair, other entrees our party selected included Prime Rib, Dinner Salads, and a Rotosserie Chicken. When I inquired how their meals were, the general response was "Good, but then its hard to screw up". The dessert my wife and I shared, a White Chocolate Brownie, was simply terrible. When you live in the Chicago area, there are so many great restaurants that I doubt I would drive 45 minutes to return to this restaurant.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice place to eat we found this restaurant with a good review. So we drove there super excited and got seated quickly. We looked at the menu... half of the book is beer and wine then the other half is biazzare food. I got a burger and she got somthing that looked like a blt. The bottom bun of my burger was soaked with grease it was still really raw in the middle and still dripping. The blt make her sick to her stomach after three bites and it was greasy. The only upside was the fries and the three free cookies you get in a bag at the end which was used for a barf bag on the way home for me and my girlfriend. We tried to feed the dog the left overs and he just looked at it then looked at me and was like "what the (duck)" only reason I would eat there would be to get hammered and then get the over priced food.

I was a little disappointed, just another franchise making a buck on brewing their own beer. May be ok for the beer but I was expecting a lot more from the food. The burger with shredded pork was just way too greasy with juices flowing like a river, yet it was dry in the mouth (ordered medium rare). All four dishes were over salted. We had the waffle with pork and here too was too much salt. The french onion soup was also a disappointment, onions were missing the carmalization, the krutons were drenched inside and again the cook is way too heavy handed with the salt. I drank like 3 glasses of water there, another in the car and then 2 glasses at home. The nachos were I think the best dish, I just expected a lot more for the price paid.

So I saw this place when I was coming from Aurora with the family. We wanted to check it out, my wife and three kids SAT outside right from the start we felt like we where a bother. Mind you it wasnt busy but our server seemed overwhelmed. Totally forgot about us I had to go to the bar and order our drinks!!!! Wtf! Not even a apology or something complimentary. I work in the service industry and this type of service would never fly!!! Even had to look for her to get our check! Really??? Food is mediocre. Beer is ok... Service horrible! Dont go! I wont, even told the manager the server was awful. Dont even know her name since she didnt even introduce herself

Nice place. It is open but on a Tuesday afternoon there was enough bustle around the crowded dinning area that you get a close almost cozy feeling with your party. The food is simple in presentation (excluding items like THE SHOW burger) yet eye catching in how neat well put together it is. Sadly I did not try any of their brews, but the selection is limited to their 4-5 brews mainly and that left me a little disappointed. They do maximize what they have. I saw a float made with their stout that I really wanted to try. In all, it is a good place slightly hire than average prices, with a wide variety of foods.
