tried for the first time based on very positive word of mouth reviews. will not be returning. upon entering there was no host. numerous employees walked by before a young man emerged from the bathroom and said oh, im not on the clock but i guess i can help you great, thanks. seated in the bar area. service was slow and indifferent. tried repeatedly to hail a passing waitress - who spent ample time talking with the table next to mine - simply to find my waitress - but she wouldnt give me the time of day. had a burger. it was overcooked (badly) despite being ordered medium (waitress did ask how i would like the burger cooked). i was unable to voice any complaint as my waitress did not return except to drop off the check. requested to speak to a manager then waited 5m+ for one who never arrived. left a voicemail afterwards and never received a call back. this was a thusday and the location was half full. disappointing. took 30m+ from being seated to receive food. pricey - the burger was decent but overpriced ($17 for a burger, fries and iced tea). no better than the Fridays or Chilis burgers. extensive menu and while many things look and sound enticing, ill take my mone elsewhere.

I hate it when good food is spoiled by bad service. That was our experience here on 8/29/16. The food was good (2 of us had the ahi tuna, 1 had the baked halibut), but the service was poor. Inattentive, uncaring, and somewhat pompous. There were several examples, the worst of which was that 2 glasses of wine ordered prior to delivery of our dinner was not delivered until after we were done with the dinner, and only then because one of us had to go to the hostess stand and ask about it. The server, Jeremy, never once came by the table to see how things were, and was out of sight most of the time. When he finally brought the wine, there was minimal apology until we made it clear that we were not happy. He then came back and said “I bought one of the wines, since they were late”, saying it as if he was doing us a tremendous favor. When he finally delivered the bill, he disappeared again, never coming back to take payment. We finally left cash, with a small tip for him because of the denominations we had. Watching the servers, the hostess, and even the manager on duty, you could just tell that service was not their priority. We won’t go back.

I went for lunch to this place. We were seated fast at dinning area but we wait 10 minutes before the waiter came to get our order. We order calamari and I had Cheese Steak Sandwich. My friends had Cheeseburger classic plus I had a Sprite and they had just water. After we got the food we never saw our waiter again until he got our check and even after that we had to look for him to get our credit cards so we can get out. Never we were asked for more water or Sprite or if we need anything else. (My tip was only 10% to him for the service I got) Calamari was taste good but it was full of Oil. Same was for fries that came with the food. I could not finished mine it was so bad. It just like they did not use the Oil temperature right. The other thing was that it was over priced for the food we got. I will never go back there and same goes for my friends

Have had a couple of fair/good lunches here. Today (Sunday) stopped in for late lunch. We wanted to sit in the bar area. The Hostess said there was a 20 minute wait for a high-top so we sat at the bar. The whole place as about 30% full and the high-tops never saw any action. The bar tender was inattentive. We ordered the nachos, but they were not good. Way too sweet, and the sour cream tasted fake. We told the bar tender to take it away but he was completely uninterested in why. Ordered the blackened brie because we were still hungry. Tasted like burnt nothing. Prtty disappointing. We wont be going back.

Won a Cubs game watch party for tonight which included "Old Style beers, Hot Dogs, apps, and swag" for my party. Appreciated the beer and hot dogs but didnt get anything else. Plus, service was horrible. Server(s) rarely came around unless we flagged em down. Still ordered a couple drinks and apps. Have been here a few times and my rate would have been a 4 or 5, and it really wasnt that bad. Is it the free drinks and hot dogs that turned em down? Dont think Ill be coming back.

We stopped off here after a movie for a quick burger. I ordered the Bourbon Street Burger with a side of fries. They must have misunderstood because I was served a salt-lick burger with a side of ungodly bland yet still surprisingly greasy fries. My wife ordered her burger medium-rare. It was beyond well-done and also very salty. The waitress did the absolute minimum so I gave a rare 15% tip (I normally tip 20-25%). Overpriced bar food.

I have gone here for so many occasions and the service is always great. Large selection of beer and food. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. And we love the fact that they have outdoor seating. This was a huge bonus point for us. The burgers are great, the tuna app is amazing. A must try!! Service was quick and the food was delicious and filling. The atmosphere is comfortable. Portions are large. come with an appetite.

Blackfinn is an American pub experience, the food is good, the atmosphere is good, and the drinks are always flowing. The best thing about Blackfinn is actually the service, Ive had a phenomenal experience with their event planner and with the waiter staff, they are really great. I recommend them to anyone looking for a place to throw a party for adults in a upscale bar environment!

One star to offset all the positive reviews. Nothing special on the menu. Burgers below average made from frozen patties. Flatbread were just ok, but how can you mess up a flatbread, lol. The best part of this place are their fries and homemade ranch dressing. If you dont care to have fries for dinner, then this place is no better ( food wise ) then any other local tavern.

The service and quality of the food was disappointing. Ordered Jumbo Crab Cakes and my son had Chicken Parmgean with angel hair pasta. The angel hair pasta tasted like there was way too much pepper. I dont know if that was a mistake or if that was their recipe. The Jumbo Crab Cakes were not very "Jumbo". For 20 bucks I expected them to be a little bigger.

They made a lot of changes to the menu in the past month modifying the dishes we liked last time. The manager we met last time came to say hello and we noticed a marked improvement in the service from our waitress. The manager was concerned that he had lost us as customers but everything was fine after he recognized and fixed things for us.

Ive eaten here on quite a few occasions with my father and generally stick to the same dish - the fish tacos. Something about the beer battered fish and the aioli sauce just hits me the right way. The service is my only minor, minor gripe as sometimes it takes awhile to get things moving along.
