McCook Family Restaurant is certainly a diamond in the ruff. Located just off of I-55, a bar is attached to a medium size, modestly decorated restaurant. The food is delicious! duck, pork, liver, cabbage, delicious gravy and dumplings. Whenever my family and I go its for the breaded pork tenderloin, dumplings and duck. I highly suggest getting the liver dumpling soup, but the beef noodle soup is also delicious. At the bar is a big screen TV.

I stopped in for lunch today and got the half chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was under $11. I left pretty stuffed and it was delicious. The bartender/waitress was not that helpful or friendly but I would return simply because the food is great

Great food. If you leave hungry it is not their fault. This is a local restaurant and bar. Service is moderate but they do their best. This is a low key place. I love the fact I can come in and just relax and enjoy a great meal.

The food was pretty good - the service is extremely slow. Also - no refills on the soda - $2.25 for a small slender glass of coke and no refill? That seems kind of tacky - speaking of tacky - the decor is extremely outdated.

Food is fantastic and reasonably priced. You get more than what you pay for. I was so hungry today that I forgot to take a photo of my Roast Beef and Potato Pancakes. I will return when I visit my dad as he lives nearby.
