I cannot say enough great things about Chef Soon and his sushi. The rolls are amazing, the sushi is always top quality, and everything is prepared exceptionally well and with care. Chef Soon has been featured on Chicagos Best too! The main reason I love this place so much is that he accommodates allergies like no tomorrow! My wife is gluten intolerant and my aunt is allergic to crab. He not only makes substitutions, but even will use rice flour as substitutes so the rolls overall presentation/taste are not altered. There are very few sushi places that can do as well as chef Soon. For rolls, the Summer Roll is amazing and should be the last roll you order. It is served with a citrus soy and is a perfect way to end the night. Zuke Salmon is also one of my favorites. The specialty Mackerel is also bad ass :) Check out the specials when you get there too. Sometimes there are great items that are overlooked and very unique. Ive been here at least 30 times, Ive sent countless people. Ive been to a ton of sushi places downtown (where I live) and Ive not found better. This is the the best, no doubts about it.

Where do I start?...... although the food was good the service ruined it for me! We celebrated my sisters birthday, its her favorite food and she wanted the family to experience the food. The server ask if we were new, we said yes but she didnt explained any of the food. My 2 year old nephew accidentally spilled a drink and the server kept saying sarcastically "good job" as she clean the table. Everytime that they would change the grill they would mix the already cooked meat with raw meat. Gross! My brother in law didnt eat any of it but he was still was charge $30. There was a group of korean old guys that were annoyingly loud their whole stay! But when my nephew made some noise then the server was quick to come to our table and tell my nephew to be quiet. I guess they dont care to provide good customer service when their 18% gratuity is forced!

We were a group of ten people. Half of us wanted the all you can eat Korean BBQ option, so they sat at one table. The other half wanted to order from the traditional menu, so they sat at an adjacent table. The waitress was quite upset about this for some reason. She spent the rest of the evening being very antagonistic to our group. The food was just okay. At checkout, she was also very annoyed that we wanted to separate the checks and mumbled all sorts of nonsense at us while we paid. She said this was a waste of her time (in Korean), but somehow mustered up enough energy to add a 25% tip to each of our bills. If you want to know what it feels like to eat very meh Korean food while your friends mother treats you like utter garbage, youll love this place...

Just a heads up.....the sign DOES NOT say "sushi" or anything of the sort. The restaurant is in the corner of a strip mall with a few other cafes and businesses. Also, when walking in, the restaurant is separated into two different businesses, left side is the Korean BBQ and right side is the Sushi place. Anyways, The food is great!!! They have a variety of rolls to choose from, and each one is very unique with some very interesting ingredients. We tried the crunchy melt roll which had melted cheese on top.....definitely worth a try but I would not order it again. The Gyoza was AMAZING!!!!!! The prices are a bit high and the service is kind of slow but this place is worth a try for some good sushi.

Im usually a really picky eater just because my mom was such a good cook growing up, but this place is awesome!!! The Korean BBQ is super good and so are all the soups. Ive tried sushi there a couple of times, and its surprisingly fresh too. I dont know why everyone is complaining about the waitstaff though. Sometimes they are really busy, but they are all really nice. If you need special attention and 3 people at your service, I recommend Ruths Chris haha.

I love the soups at this place. Id give it 5 stars if it werent for the nasty waitresses there. Theres one particularly nasty server we seem to always get. She use to make me a little uncomfortable but now I find her nastiness almost an interesting challenge to navigate through while enjoying a delectable soup. Youll know which one Im talking about the moment you experience her death stare before words are even spoken......

Chef Soon is possibly on e of the greatest Sushi ARTISTS I have ever had the joy of experiencing. You need to let him take you away from the traditional rolls and rice sushi, but when you let him "create a sushi meal" for you, the food is the best Ive ever had. I have eaten a lot of sushi, but his is, bar none, the most elegant, creative and tasty I have ever had.

I thought this is a Japanese restaurant by the reviews, but I am delighted it is a very good Korean restaurant. I traveled many times to Korea and love Korean food. This is very authentic Korean food. Many Korean eat here so it is an evidence. I got a free pancake with my order. It was tasty surprise. I will certainly come back here when I can.

Have been here about 15 times now in the passed 2 years. This is hands-down the best sushi restaurant in Illinois. Chef Soon is a master at providing quality cuisine. He also artistically presents your food every time. The atmosphere is odd considering the sushi restaurant is connected to a Korean BBQ place, but other than that, its perfect.

Food is okay but service is terrible. Thankless service; dont even look at you when paying the check. Didnt even speak a word the entire time. I literally serviced myself yet I tipped them as a formality...and they tossed the receipt instead of handling it with manner. Pretty disappointed yet feel sorry that they are the way the are.

Food is pretty descent but if your coming here for service, FORGET IT!!!! I was a waitress before and I understood the bad service when theyre busy but I was the ONLY ONE in the restaurant and they were still huffing and puffing that I asked for more water. Its a joke!!!! If you are ok with BAD service, this is the place for you!!!

Weve eaten here a few times and have had nothing but great experiences. The wait staff are friendly, attentive and happy to keep the all-you-can-eat meats coming. Beers are fair-priced and brought in a timely manner. If youve never tried Korean BBQ, I feel sorry for you. Go here with an appetite and indulge.

We waited 30 minutes without even seeing a hostess. And when we finally did, we asked them how long the wait was going to be and they just said "wait one moment" and then ran off. We waited 10 more minutes and no sign of any staff. We walked out after not being helped for almost as hour.

Excellent fresh sushi, the best I have had outside of downtown Chicago. Chef Soon offers unique rolls with tasty combinations you wont find elsewhere. The summer roll is a burst of citrus flavor and a great way to end your meal. If you havent been yet, give it a try!
