The food was very good. however this is not a place if you are handicaped. dining is on the second floor and there isnt an elevator. We didnt have reservations and they looked at us like we were crazy and seemed like they werent going to seat us until they realized the couple in back of us didnt have reservations either.. If he hadnt seated us I would have said something about how I had to climb all those stairs to get there he better well find us a seat.. but i didnt have to do that. I had a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops that was very good and Lemon tortufo for desert.. excellent. atmospher seemed a little stuffy.

My wife and I dropped in to have a drink at the bar on her birthday. The head bartender (shaved head), was the rudest bartender Ive ever seen. If it was my establishment, I would have fired him on the spot. Food was good as is the wine list but hardly makes up for the BS attitude. Ive lived in Libertyville for forty years and drop into the Tavern/Firkin from time to time, just to see if things (service) have improved. From the owners to most of the wait staff its always the same; snobby, rude, condescending and if your not ordering high dollar items, not to be found.

We dined at the Tavern for a special occasion, son graduating from US Navy basic training. Our server, Rachael, was attentive and very helpful. The service was excellent. The food was very good, we had steaks and seafood, cooked perfectly. My son really enjoyed his 12 oz. filet! Thank you to the manager for your hospitality. Thank you for making this celebration very special. I would highly recommend the Tavern for the food, service and ambiance!

Very disappointing service. Reservations were made a week in advance for a party of ten on a Tuesday night. The table provided really only could seat six. Management was insensitive to the arrangement not even accommodating to my guest to even provide a bit of plain white rice! I expect a little more for a $700 tab. Wont be back. I would not have given them any gratuity had they not imposed a minimum 18% automatically on the tab.

My party and I found the food to be well prepared, tasty ,and reasonable. Seafoods are a delight to the palate. Wait staff was excellent. Very nice atmosphere, decor is lovely toward the ostentatious, but overall, I give the Tavern a big Thumbs UP. Id also highly recommend this place to anyone going to anywhere within an hours drive of Libertyville.

Super cute and trendy place. Right next to The Firkin.. but make no mistake The Tavern came before the The Firkin (bartender angrily told me when I asked) havent had food here (heard its expensive) but the decor and bar itself is just reason enough to visit. Definitely one of my favorite places to go! You wont be disappointed!

We loved this place!!! Happened upon it by chance and were so glad! Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, wonderful craft martinis, a tremendous wine selection, great food and desserts! What more could you ask for? Service was great both times we went :-) Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a lovely evening out ❤

The atmosphere is really cool and eclectic. The food left me less impressed though. We split some appetizers that were OK, but the fettuccine tasted really bland. For the expense, I thought it would be better. Cocktails were good though and the wine list was huge. Id return to the bar, but eat somewhere else.

Ive gone here for drinks a couple times now and its been great. The staff notice an empty drink and they offer another. It is funny how they fill the water glasses, the pitcher they pour from looks like a wine decanter that is really tall. But its a classy place to hang out with a group of friends.

My husband and I were greeted with attitude and asked if we understood that we would have to order food... We just walked into their restaurant. I work with children and the staff here could learn manners from them. We didnt even sit down. We walked out and have not been back since.

The menu in the lounge is unbelievably good; the service was non-existant. In spite of the wait staffs inability (followed closely by the managements inability to manage their waitstaff) - I would highly recommend the lounge based on the menu alone.

Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that isnt too loud in the cocktail lounge. Prices are reasonable compared to what I heard about this place before going. Had a great time with friends here many times and will continue to go.

Overall I had a nice experience at this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere but the only thing I didnt like was that the service was a little slow. Other than that, I loved this place! Ill be back soon to try it again.

Ken Wright by the glass? Really. I thought Sea Smoke by the glass was impressive. Obviously a Wine Spectator award winner hands down. Best wine list on Lake County easy. Chicago possibly.
