It started with dirty utensils. When we showed to the staff, we were asked to pick other bowls which in turned out to be dirty too. He walked up to us and with anger picked up the clean bowls and said why dont you pick the clean ones!! The mint chutney was overloaded with green color, and the chickpeas were too salty. We asked for the manager to give the feedback on food and got a rude reply that there is no manager around. When we gave the feedback to the server, he in a nasty tone said that either you can have the food or just leave!! We were leaving, and we were asked to pay for such a pathetic service and food. With that kind of service and when we are asked to leave, we were in no mood to pay, and then he wanted to call the cops, and we were ready to face the cops. We kept on insisting for the manager and everytime our request was rudely denied!! In a local language, this server told the other server not to call the manager. When I wanted to confirm if he is calling the cops, he says " Are you blind and cant see that I am calling the cops!!" We waited for 5 mins and then were asked to leave without paying. One of the most pathetic experiences of life and never going back again. First, learn the courtesy to talk and respect your customers!! The restaurant expects us to give feedback to the manager based on his availability and not during the working hours of the business!!

last week i went to Himalaya located in Gurnee, IL , the food was not great.... all the gravy tastes the same ... the service was ridiculous , they need to learn to listen to customer, i felt like waste of money ... and more over when my co-worker found a FEATHER in his food ... we showed it to the lady and saw and took it away .... not SORRY nothing .... seriously food and health inspector needs to know that there was feather in food ...... like a bird feather ..... ridiculous...... i am never ever going to that place to eat in my life .... all the readers please check the food before you to to Himalaya restaurant..

I cant say enough good things about the Himalayan restaurant. I see all walks of people in the restaurant from young to old and different ethnicities. I think the food is fabulous. For first-timers be careful with that mild is good enough for spice. Medium really is quite a hike higher than their mild. If youre looking for a little bit more than mild after you had an initial dish there then perhaps medium with a side of yogurt could help cool it down. We like going there for dinner and we use them for catering as well.

I am not satisfied with Food and Service.I ordered Samosa,Gobi Manchurian and Veg biryani, Only Samosa was good.Manchurian was tasteless and Biryani was over spicy, My friend had order Paneer Sabji, it was ver bad. The servers while cleaning the table were wrapping the used table paper in front of customers, I felt the noise was very annoying.Service was poor.Over all experience is Poor Will not dare to go again..

I have been coming here for several years. The food is always consistently delicious. I have traveled throughout India and the spices they use are top notch. My favorites are the green bean curry and the paneer pakora. I highly recommend this place, you cant go wrong. The staff is attentive and friendly, hardly any turn over. Give it a chance, you will be happy you did.

This place is awesome! The staff is very attentive, they always make sure you have plenty of water and they are super polite. The food is fantastic, I recommend getting the chefs special if youre not sure what to try. And it has so much food it is good for 2 people. They have even brough us complementary dessert a couple of times!

Indian and Nepalese dishes served in a classy surroundings. Popular for its buffet lunch. Most dishes are well done and nicely seasoned. However, for a Nepalese restaurant, their goat curry was subpar with tough meat and questionable blend of flavor and/or cooking process. Overall, very good service.

I just picked up carryout from here and was very disappointed. I have eaten here many times over the past few years and never had an issue; however, I asked for the dish I ordered to be prepared spicy, but it did not taste like anything. There was no flavor whatsoever. I feel ripped off.

Very very good! I havent had the lunch buffet, only carry out. Its delicious! This restaurant adds to the very interesting hidden gems of restaurants in the Waukegan area. Louies, Hillarys, Lenos, Quonset, Toluca, and Himalayan. I have a tough decision to make next take-out night!

Excellent indian food! Try the buffet in the afternoons, always hot and fresh served with fresh naan. We also order dinner here for carry out. Try their Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer. Note: If you ask for your food spicy, prepare to sweat! But thats how my family likes it!

OMG! I ordered spicy, not burn my mouth! After a couple of bites, I couldnt taste the food. I have had spicy food at other restaurants, and it was spicy but not spicy enough to not taste the different spices. Other dishes are like eating spicy tomato paste.

THIS PLACE SUCKS! ITS NOT EVEN WORTH PAYING A PENNY!!! I WOULD RATHER EAT A SANDWICH FROM A GAS STATION THEN EAT HERE!! THE BEST THING HERE ARE THE CUCUMBERS! THERE IS NO FLAVOR IN ANYTHING ELSE HERE! YOU MUST BE DESPERATE TO EAT HERE. THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!

They have multiple Indian food variety and a nice ambience but the food quality is mediocre. What I didnt like at all was the coloring used in almost every food item. Mutton was good and so were vegetables dishes but the kheer was too watery and Gulab Jamun cold.

Terrible food. no flavor what so ever! all these people who are commenting about how good it is are white people...with no flavor profile...most flavor they get in one week is a hotdog and fries...the himalayan will of course taste like heaven to them

Lunch buffet was OK. They did have a couple of nice dishes. Some vegetarian also. They wanted to charge my 10 year old as an adult. The kids didnt even like the tandoori chicken there. They only ate rice and naan. Not going back.

We read the reviews decided to take a chance and we loved the food!!! They had an ample amount of vegetarian options and we picked out a few. Everyone it our party loved the food and we all look forward to eating here again.

Normally Indian food is one of the most flavorful food you can eat. Himalayan somehow made the most flavorful dishes relatively bland and there is nothing spicy about any of the normally more spicy foods we ate there.

It was ultra ultra spicy. We ordered 1 level less than the spiciest level they offer but it was tooo hot to eat. I have been to many restaurants but none have ever served that spicy food. This was not even edible.
