Ive already put a call into the corporate office ( waiting for my returned call) to discuss my experience at this life kitchen but I also wanted to put my rating here as well. When I walked into the establishment the manager was at the register (as I later found out he was the manager, as he told me he was) and his first words to me were whats your number in a nasty tone. He said whats your number to me because he saw me carrying a delivery bag. I responded to him "I do not have a number, I need to place an order." I proceeded to place my order and after completing my order he said whats your name? I gave him my name and then he said I need to get your order again because I cant start an order without a name. I said okay and repeated the order to him. He gave me my receipt I sat down at the bar to wait for my food. He then proceeded to approach me where I was seated at the bar and in a nasty rude tone with his voice raised says verbatim "when you come up in here you need to..." and then proceeded to tell me what I need to do when I come into the establishment. I was completely offended by his words to me which prompts me to call their corporate office. As a manager of an establishment this is no way to treat a guest. He was so rude and LOUD that after he stopped talking to me another customer, a woman, walked over to me and asked me if I was okay and if she needed to step in and say something because the way he was talking to me was no way he should be talking to anyone. I told her thank you and that I would be calling their corporate office. This horrible man needs to not work here nor in any establishment that offers customer service because he absolutely in no way is capable of providing a positive experience.

I dont know why this place hasnt received better/more reviews! I really love this spot so when I saw the reviews listed I thought I should make a positive contribution haha. I work down the street so I order take out all the time. Dining in is nice and relaxed, (their outdoor seating is beautiful too), and take out is always fast and presented just as nicely as when I eat in. As for the food, its soooo gooood. Non-greasy, deliciously reasonable portions, and pretty flavorful compared to other health food options. Their menu is extremely diverse which is what personally keeps me coming back to a restaurant. You may be surprised looking at their menu first off, seeing as it contains things that are usually not considered good for you like burgers and flatbreads, but the light fresh taste of everything and nutritional information provided proves otherwise! And I love that most orders include a baby kale side salad. Freshii just opened down the street, and although some of their stuff is pretty good as well, I would recommend LYFE over them any day for their diversity and flavor! (NO TURNING BACK ONCE YOU TRY THE KALE BANANA SMOOTHIE). Enjoy :D

The fruits are unfresh. The place has been my fav brunch place in Evanston since I moved here a few months ago. I almost come every sat to have brunch here. The food were healthy and fresh. I especially loved the little fruits cup they give with meal each time. It is always so fresh, a lovely and thoughtful mixture of dark fruits. However, it ends today. Today I woke up at 9am, and went to the Lyfe kitchen to have my brunch the first thing. I ordered a breakfast tofu wrap and orange juice. The wrap was good. But wait... the grape is dry and getting bad. So it this one.. And so are most blueberries. Eww... They are something you would find on the bottom of your fridge after you left the fruits in for two weeks. The only thing fresh in the fruit cup is the little piece strawberry on the top. So disappointed.... The burger and the wraps are still good tho. I guess I prob came too early and they have something left in the fridge from two days ago that they didnt want to waste. Now Im sitting here, staring at my dying fruits, feeling so betrayed... Where is my fresh fruits cup??

I was expecting fresh, high quality, reasonably priced food. Instead, the food was mediocre at best, extremely overpriced and not fresh at all. The farmers salad was nothing but greens. Very little goat cheese or pecans. Ordering Mahi with for an additional $3.50 was a waste of money as there was very little fish. The grilled chicken avocado sandwich was very small and had too much of some sort of sauce which made the bread soggy very quickly. They put a literal chicken breast on top of a piece of lettuce with chopped up tomatoes. The side salad tasted like grass and was very soggy as well. Both the Farmers salad and the sandwich were not worth the $9.00 they were priced at. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

My friend and I came to check out this place out because we are always excited when new restaurants are in town. The layout is really nice and welcoming, seems like an awesome study spot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had free sparkling water--what a great touch! However, our main entrees were disappointing. My friend got the fish tacos and I got the grilled chicken and avocado. They were both pretty bland. We also shared the roasted brussels & squash. Those were delicious! Not sure if wed go back... maybe to study and try out all the lyfe waters (cucumer mint was yummy, though on the pricey side) and some snacks.

If youre vegetarian or vegan, you will love this place. Ive been here twice and got the thai curry and sausage & mozzarella ravioli. The portions are rather small, but its supposed to be healthy! I think they try to keep each entree under 600 calories. Im generally not a fan of "healthy" food, but the food here is tasty, fresh, and light. They have outdoor seating in the summer and its a great spot to view all the downtown Evanston activities going on, such as dance classes. LYFE Kitchen is self-service so it makes for a quick lunch.

I was excited to go here, our first time for lunch was pretty good. I had the pancakes and turkey sausage, they bring out the sausage first and then ten minutes later they bring out pancakes... cold. So now I have cold sausage and pancakes lol... It would have been kind of funny and trivial if we were not treated like we are the only people in the world who like to have there breakfast hot and all at the same time.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago. Wasnt ovely impressed with the meal. As a vegetarian, I dont love it when restaurants try hard to cater to us. There are many options that we can have that dont have to be made "vegetarian friendly". I would like to go back there and try something else, just to give them another chance. I didnt love it and I didnt hate it! 3 stars is about right!

Really good and healthy + tasty food. The decor and restaurant was really clean. The flatbreads we ordered for the kids were amazing. The sauce was really good and the mozarella cheese was of the highest quality. My red curry was good too although it used Brown rice instead of white rice (did I mention it was healthy food? :) ). I would go back again to try other stuff on the menu.
