This restaurant serves a purpose and does it well. Variety of food. However the place is filthy and the quality of the food is very subpar. The steak is rubbery and most of it was unchewable even at med rare. there are splatters on the windows in front of the grill that appear to have been there quite awhile, food on the floor and on the ledges and they dont replace empty bins during peak dinner hours. If you are a vegan, this may be a good place to go as the salad bar was okay and I filled up on the vegetables which were acceptable. A few items that were somewhat tasty and very popular was the bourbon street chicken and the corn bread/cake. Even tho the cornbread was tasty, it had hardened into a rock and it was hard to find a moist piece. The meatloaf was just okay & the catfish was acceptable altho it was mislabeled as Fried okra. The yeast rolls were fresh and hard to keep on hand but could be more yeasty for me ala parker house. Lastly Golden Corral, clean your carpeting. It is disgustingly black from filth. People spilled their food on it and people walked on it and ground it in. Yuck. For $30 per couple, we didnt eat anywhere near that amount of food and it certainly wasnt worth the price. We will not be back and we wouldnt recommend anyone else go here either.

Simply terrible, I went there Sunday night and the cashier was just rude, I dont understand how a company requires an assessment test and cant personally tell that someone is just so unpleasant. On top of that our waiter didnt show up for 30-40 minutes, so I had to go to the counter to get a refill and again was given unpleasant treatment over some fruit punch. lol The manager needs to get their employees act together. Also the place is very unclean I wouldnt bring infants or a little kids here. Hopefully the owners or managers read this review to help the company before the restaurant gets shut down. Jeff Foxworth put his face on the company and Id hate for it to get shut down, I respect Mr. Foxworthy.

Its more like 0 stars. Rude cook at the meat grill. Very dirty place. About 6 plates on the table before the server introduced herself. Had to go to the front counter for water because server never stopped at our table or was anywhere visible. When I talked to the manager and expressed my frustration about the one in Algonquin being better she was surprised because according to her its usually the other way around. People telling her this one is so much better. Save your money go elsewhere. Disgusting, which explains why it was so empty.

Wow, been here for 20 minutes and no server. Have I been living under a rock.. Golden Corral has gotten rid of their servers?! One lady continues to walk past our table yet ignores us. The table right next to ours continues to receive refills! I finally got to go to the counter and ask for one, and she follows me back to the table just to ask what I got.. even after that she never step foot to our table. Only the table across from us Not a good experience with this place!!

I come from the south , I recently moved to Elgin , and to be honest I was expecting more than I received at my visit ! In the south , golden corrals have a wonderful service and very clean!!!!!.Poor service only been checked at my table no more than 4 times , when I asked for refills for me and my fam . Waitress gave us back a Carbodinated soda , third time waitress gave us another drink we didnt have in first place . Never coming back . First and last time.

Either food was over or under cooked, staff proceeded to joke and play in the corner, and when they did come past the one time didnt pay us a bit of attention. We got sick and tired of waiting for drinks and for plates to be removed so I took it upon myself to walk into serving station and get out own drinks and put the pile of plates on a table next to us. TERRIBLE!!!!!! Save your time and go to Algonquin instead.

Food is good and a big selection but wont be going here again. One of the cooks preparing the steaks was extremely rude and made my experience there horrible. I asked him for medium he gave me black on the outside and so bloody on the inside I couldnt eat it. To top it off he acted so annoyed like I was bothering him. All I have to say is if you dont like your job quit!! Ruined our whole experience there!!

Food is mediocre at best. Overall cleanliness of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. There is always trash and food everywhere on the floors even during the slow times. Their outdoor signage on the building has had several light bulbs out of commission for months and months leaving it an eyesore to passing traffic every evening.

Actually exceeded my expectations, but I dont trust the quality. I stuck with the fried chicken and also some other chicken dish that was a little spicy..I forget the name. Manager really friendly. Mac and Cheese looks good, but didnt like it. Kids loved the chocolate fountain. I ate too much. But, for the price, we could have gone somewhere a bit nicer.

Too many mexicans letting their kids stick their fingers in all of the food trays. Also they were laughing and making fun of everyone sitting around them(including my family)while we all were trying to enjoy our meal. And if that wasnt enough, besides their rudeness and vulgarity, they are excessively LOUD! You used to be great. Never coming back.

Dined at the Golden Coral on a Sunday around noon. I found the food quality to be rather good however, and I realize this is difficult for a buffet style restaurant to manage, it seemed the post church Sunday brunch crowd made it difficult for it to continue to clean up after everyone. The restaurant was very dirty as a result.

People like to complain a lot. This place is fine. Its a cheap buffet. Dont expect too much. The food is good, staff is very friendly. One time I wanted cotton candy before I left and there wasnt any and a manager saw me looking for it. So she personally made me 3 bags of cotton candy to take home.

dine there on Tuesday night the waitress was very nice but the chef cooking the steaks was very rude to me I am veteran have been other Illinois locations they treated me well. but him not at all like Doing me a favor they werent busy at all that night like I was in his way.

I love this place because they have good food a disserts and good drinks and they do pay the correct way and I think they have good tables and the tables do not have food or disserts on them and they have cheep prices and good flavor to the food and it is a good place.

Its a buffet, so the food is okay, and the restaurant would be better if the drinks were self serviced. If you are looking to feed the whole family for very little, this is the place I would recommend if everyone is looking for a different cuisine for lunch or dinner.
