Pastel use to be a record store called Hot Jams, but they sold the building and moved to the northside of Chicago. Pastel has some great cakes! I used them for my wedding and I was very happy with the design and all my 170 guests loved the cake. We had tons of people take cake home. Ever since then I have not gone to any other bakery. The cakes are super moist and they use fresh fruits and interesing choices of fillings. The frosting isnt overbearing and is super delicious and I hate frosting! They sit down with you and do consultaions and give you espresso, cappuccin ets. and they actually listen to you and your decorating preferences. Theyre prices are great and i recommened this bakery for any ocassion!

LooooOve every single cake i have bought from here. Everytime has been the same delicious result. Unfortunately, this time they missed the mark but not by the richeness but rather the design. We ask for a Simple kids design and we got a white cake w/jelly design. I even double send the picture. I would defenitely come back but next time I wont hasitate to speak up more and be more detailed. The worker that help me was great thats the only reason i didnt try to make a big deal. This place can be a missed place but dont let the size of the location fool you. Small location rich in flavors.

This is a "boutique" bakery so prices are a bit on the high side..however, they do make good cakes so sometimes its worth it to pay a little more if you know what you are getting will be good quality cakes...however, recently they have started adding more whip/frosting to their cakes..the cake we got was more than half covered with whipped frosting...I wouldve expected something like this from a low end bakery but for the price we paid, this is not acceptable.

I go for the cake, yogurt cups and coffee..the place is clean to eat in or take out. They just need to advertise more and I would like to see them solicit the neighborhood markets to get their products in the stores. Treasure Island and Freshline, etc. If they go south to the burbs, Orland Park, Palos, Oak Lawn, they will get noticed. Do not miss this place. I try to go there every other week. If it were in my direction, I would go weekly.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Other locations sell incredibly dry cake but this bakery sells some of the most delicious cakes Ive ever tasted. I honestly dont know why the overall rating out of five is a four because this place is AMAZING. My family always gets their cake from here and at every single gathering someone always asks where we purchased our cake from. Im 99.9% sure you will not regret coming to this place.

I order all of my special occasions cakes, bdays, communions, bautizos. I lover thier cakes, espcially the yellow cake,w/pinapple filling and cocount flavored iceing... OMG! the best ever!!! Thier cookes are deliciosos... I highly recommend this place for a special occasion, if you like to show off, flavor is GREAT!

Inconsistent, buy a cookie it tastes great go back buy a pound and its too greasy with too much sugar. I bought a cheese filled cupcake it was ONE note...too sweet! Eek yak. Counter help is weird and grouchy and its not a happy environment. Too expensive to not be consistent in both product and service.

I got a Rosca from here and the Rosca didnt have no baby Jesus. I called to let him know and they said they will sell me another one for half price. Disappointed!! No sorry, no " we will credit you" nothing. Oh and the the way their customer service and the owner suck!

I was there today I was craving cookies because Im 2 months pregnant and these people just ignore me for 15 minutes they saw me I even wave and sad excuse me I want to purchase some cookies and I was ignored they never came out horrible service I will not be coming back

Ordered a cake days in advance only to find out on the pick up day that they never made it. Plus the customer service is terrible, was waiting more than 30 minutes to be helped out. Save your money and go to a legitimate bakery, this place is not worth it.
