Ordered 4 to go sandwiches for my road trip and when time came to consume them, it appeared they were not the ones that I ordered. Called the store to point on the mistake hoping on some kind of a refund or store credit but instead I was told that I received what I paid for (paid correct price for wrong sandwiches) and promise to not make mistakes again which I dont care about since Im not going to come back. Also ended up not eating those wrongly made sandwiches

Ive been in this neighborhood long enough to remember when this space was a frame shop and then an art gallery. Im glad it found its retail legs with Spinning J. A great place to grab a coffee, slice of pie or malted and watch California and Augusta Aves. pass by on soda jerk stool. You can tell the people working here are dedicated to making this place work. Theyre friendly and focused on the simple things. Its a once a week stop in for me.

It has been a positive experience every time we have gone. The owner is out of this world involved in customer service. I cant say enough about the food, service, & owner! Ill keep going back for all the amazingness ! Thanks all for making the outstanding food & excellent service. Thanks Martha ( I think ) for bringing us such a great place with your wonderful food.

This place is exceptional. As a vegetarian, they have unique options that are tasty (hello Beet Reuben, I love you). Their pies are divine and they are out of a lot of stuff because they are divine. Yea, you heard it here first. This place is popular for good reason. Get there early and eat up!

Very friendly and cozy place. theyre usually out of a lot of things, but the things they do have are good quality. If u want to try the mexican chocolate only get one scoop. It starts getting too spicy after the first few bites. Their chocolate chip cookies arent as soft as I would like.

The shakes and the cookies are delicious. This place is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love it here and the staff is very friendly. Ive seen commuters waiting for the bus come in a grab a glass of water without making a purchase, that exemplifies joining the community.

The pies and sodas at this retro place are unique and delicious. You cant go wrong with meringue pies ( their meringue has perfect texture), specifically raspberry lemonade. If the place gets crowded, there is a small bench for 2 outside for enjoying a pastry and beverage.

Kickass sodas, gelato and pies. Aaron the soda jerk is very knowledgable and their sodas are very creative. Got a hibiscus key lime pie for a party and it was a hit. Glad their in the neighborhood and will probably go get something after writing this review :P

The house made Ginger Lime soda was stellar. Super refreshing and not too sweet. The breakfast sandwich with bacon was exactly what I was craving. The milkshakes are creamy and perfectly sweet. The atmosphere was also great. A nice ambiance.

Classic Soda shop with a contemporary twist. Definitely a must for the quick lunch meet up or if you have a sweet tooth or if you want something interesting to taste aside from something involving alcohol.

I hate kitschy stuff, but this place is themed very nicely, and their food and pastries are really great. The staff is nice, and it isnt too busy to pop in on a whim and find a seat.

One of the greatest little spots in Chicago. Great pie, soda, shakes, sandwiches. Secret menu : order a breakfast sandwich with bacon, on the blue cheese buttermilk biscuit

Great little spot, and loved the black dog gelato and vanilla shake. They also do BYOB mixers if you have a bottle of something at home you just dont know what to do with.

The experience here is great! A old school soda fountain combined with great pie makes for an all around solid late night snack or lunch opportunity.

Savory pies were only so-so and they were out of a lot of other menu items. Not a good call for a full dinner. Shoulda known better I guess.

The food is great. The seating is not good for groups. (One 4-top, one 3-top, and then five 2-tops.) Probably better for takeaway food.
