I dont like having to write a negative review but I must. I thought it may be a one time thing, but the blatant rudeness displayed by the individual (sorry, I cant say "lady" because she DEFINITELY did not act like one) is unacceptable. We used to pick up Old Fashioned for staff meetings and for weekly treats. I moved away for years, however, I remembered Old Fashioned & wanted to start picking these up for our office again. Due to dietary restrictions (some religious), I called & inquired about the type of oil the donuts are fried in. Initially, I allowed one of our teens to do it as a way of teaching phone etiquette and learning social skills. After calling and saying, "Good Afternoon. How are you?" the reply was a cold, short, "How can I help you?" The young man proceeded to inquire about the oil. She responded with a cold, condescending, "DONUT oil!" I then took the phone, asked, "How are you?" and proceeded to explain *why* we were asking, noting that I wanted to make weekly purchases but needed this information. She gave me the same dry response of "Donut oil." I am not familiar with what "donut oil" consists of and explained that I didnt. She gave a rude, "Its just donut oil" and hung up. I waited until the weekend passed and called Monday (today). The same la--I mean, individual answered. I asked for the owner. She asked, "What is this for?" I said, "We just need to get some information about your products." She then said, "Well you need to call back!" and hung up. I dont care how good your products are, if your customer service is poor, it is not worth it. I refuse to *pay* to be mistreated! I will gladly support businesses who treat me like they actually want my business. I plan to let the owner know (if I can get past this rude person) about his rude staff person. UNPROFESSIONAL & UNACCEPTABLE!

Very heavy heart. Ive given OFD my last dollar. This is my pick me up place, and the last few months I missed their window. It started with their vacation. I was not aware they were closed temporarily, and only after they reopened did i see a one sheet sign saying they will reopen. I wasted gas often to find this store closed. The last two consecutive times Ive gone, late morning, they had NO DONUTS at all. The last visit, they were giving out wait times for donuts. Hard to find great donuts on the south side. I even try to call to save my gas, but no one ever answers. I give up. Count yourself lucky if you get them when you can, but Im not going to spend 5 bucks on gas, to wait 2 hours for a 2 dollar cinnamon roll and 8 dollar dozen. Thats a bit much to wait. Thats disregard to my time and money to get to you.

I was drawn by the amazing donut smell but I was completely turned away by the customer service. I asked the worker if he could tell me what kind of donuts they offered (4 different types of chocolate that I couldnt visually decipher). The worker had an unpleasant attitude and acted like I was wrong for asking him to tell me about the product. I mean he does work there, right?? I asked him to tell me the specific chocolate brands again and he said its just chocolate. I asked him to be nice to be and he was silent for the rest of the transaction. Now I see why I stay out of hood establishments. Trash service. I will not recommend this to anyone, I will take my dollars elsewhere. If you receive poor service, you should consider not supporting places like this.

Havent been here just yet as its not sorry close to where I live. Ive heard amazing things. I wanted to respond to Proud Momma to tell her that the donut boxes for take out say "pure vegetable oil" used. Most all places now, in this day and age, restaurants, bakeries, etc, when deep frying, ONLY use vegetable oil for health and vegetarian reasons. They will state otherwise for specific products (Hot Dougs Hot Dogs used duck fat to fry fries on Fridays only, some bakeries will state "all- butter" coffee or pound cakes). Sad to say, but sometimes a "walk-in" for confronting is needed. Dumb people are just that...dumb.

Worked nearby for a while and cant recommend this place enough! The apple fritter is the size of a dinner plate and is IMHO the perfect fritter: Slightly crispy on the edges and soft on the inside, plenty of delicious sugar glaze and cinnamon with tons of apple that somehow is not completely drowned out by everything else. The Texas donut is like a KK donut but with more texture, way larger, and tastes great hours later. Their other doughnuts vary with the seasons (like the blueberry and apple) and are worth scouting out. If you like doughnuts, look no further than OFD.

At 12pm still no glazed cake donut balls made, the preparers response I have to glaze them n I can do right now because im making additional donuts so it will be a while. My reply is im on a metered park n only have 30 min for lunch, I gotta go. His reply Ok. Like he didnt care that one travels far to get donuts that two generations of family has been raised on and eating and he doesnt understand the craving n need to have donuts avail for customers

Ive been going here since I was a kid and the food and donuts have always been excellent but I give 1 star for customer service (excluding the males) The women have nasty attitudes and when you call in an order they are always rude...especially this one that can hardly stretch her hair into a ponytail. Shes short and ugly so thats probably why she has poor customer service skills (5-16-2017). Whoever the owner is need to get those ladies training regarding customer service

Best donuts Ive EVER had! They make the national chains seem generic. When you arrive, you see them through the front window, making them fresh. Men who look like theyve been expert donut artisans for years. If its your first time, dont go when youre super pressed for time so you can take a moment to learn the different varieties. My experience was, I couldnt choose just one so I got a dozen for the family and a very special Apple Fritter for myself. Aaahh-mazing!
