I ordered a cake for my daughters first birthday smash cake photo shoot and I was so disappointed. I was hesitant to try this bakery but decided to give it a try since it had good reviews. But I regret it. First of the cake did not look like the cake I had shown them, it was an ok attempt to recreate it but I was not impressed. And I have to say it wasnt like a complicated design for somebody that makes cakes. I had asked for an ombré petal butter cream design that went from dark coral to a lighter shade of color ending the top with a cream color, just like a picture I provided them with. Instead I got the dark coral on the bottom a bright pink in the middle n the cream color on top. I hated the pink, I never mention I wanted that color in my cake ! Im giving them two stars only because when I called they right away agreed to redecorate the cake even though i only had 30min before my daughters appointment. The color turn out much better even though the cake looked a little worst since they had to rush to have it done. I dont see why they didnt get the colors right the first time? I definitely wont be ordering cakes from this bakery Again.

I just ordered my first cake from them for next week so I will update when I receive it and taste it! But I have spoken and email the staff several times and each time everyone was friendly and had great customer service. When I went into the store it was smaller than I expected but I must admit it had a small homey feel to it and it was packed with people. The place was cleaner than some Dunkin Donuts Ive been in. They accept the EBT card which was nice and the donuts I did get were big and delicious. Im hoping the cake is as well. If so then I will recommend this place to my friends as another means to get cakes made instead of going to the grocery store. And the cake was delicious I will definitely order again!

Excellent cookies and coffee cakes! We were in from out of town to see family and stopped by to pick up treats and were really happy with the service and the quality of the pastries. Fresh and very tasty! It was really great to walk into a good old Chicago bakery again. Will definitely be back around during our next visit.

The absolutely best bakery everrrrrrrr.!! The donuts is so soft and fresh...even I do go in at closing. The donuts are fresh and soft.! Boston creme is my absolute favorite.!! I live on the corner and Im there everyday.!!! I gotta stay away. Cal City bakery is gonna make me fat.!! Lol.. 5 stars.. I love this place.!!!
