I have been a customer since they were on 78th and Halsted in the 90s. Havent been in 4 years but am excited theyre still going, despite the economy. That should tell you something. I dont really care much for pizza anymore, having been force fed it so much in the Corporate sector. But I will return to this place for sure. Its not so much your typical deep dish, if thats what you get. Its really gourmet; very fresh. The butter crust and the sauce are the bomb; not soggy or dry. As for extra sauce, you wont regret it on day 2 especially if it lasts that long. Not greasy, very succulent. Not one ingredient over or underdone. Great hand packed ice cream for dessert, another thing I dont normally eat. (strange, I know) P.S. headed there this weekend and will edit this dated Dec. 19, 2012.

order a jumbo pizza and it looked horrible. The cheese was falling off, one side of the pizza was missing a crust and the pizza crust was all soggy and wet at the bottom. I dont think the pizza was even fully cooked. When I called in 2 complain, he hung up the phone.The older white guy/owner tried to justify, like were both looking at the same pizza. I wouldnt even give this place 1 star but they had nothing lower. This place serve lower class ppl because their not to picky so he gets away with selling that bullshit to them. If this place was in Lincoln park, they would of been out of business.

Old Chicago makes terrific pizza BUT it is NOT a good value. Their "large" pizza is just a bit larger than a dinner plate. It is what most people used to call a Medium sized pizza. Although it is very tasty pizza the price is, simply, outrageous. $21 for a "large" (actually smallish medium size) pizza with shrooms, sausage, and green olives!? I think not. So have a couple of beers with a friend and you EASILY have a $30 tab for PIZZA!? Thus 5 stars for taste, 1 star for value. I do not like to have a businesss margin shoved in my face.

IVE BEEN EATING FROM HERE SINCE I WAS A LITTLE BOY... LOOOOOVE IT.! GREAT PRICES AND VERY GOOD PIZZA...ESPECIALLY THE DEEP DISH.., GREAT EMPLOYEES... I DONT KNOW HIS NAME BUT THE GUY THAT ANSWERS THE PHONE AND TAKES THE ORDERS IS THE BEST.! HE REMEMBERED ME FROM WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY COMING IN WITH MY MOM AND GAVE ME A FRE UPGRADE TO MY PIZZA... I ORDERED A MEDIUM DEEP DISH AND HE GAVE ME A JUMBO FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE JUST FOR BEING A REPEAT CUSTOMER... NOW THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

This pizza was really bad. I ordered a thin crust spinach well done. The spinach tasted like it was defrosted from a freezer burned package, the sauce had no flavor, and the crust tasted like cardboard. I had to drown it in sriracha to mask the terrible overall flavor. I will never, and I mean EVER order from here again.

Order took 2+ hours to come and delivery man refused to knock on the door. He had me OPEN the door and stand in 20 degree Chicago weather. These people will not ever get my money again.
