I have been to this Cafe on a few occasions during cold, rain and shine and it never disappoints. When the sun is shining the windows are open it is relaxing to be able to enjoy a light meal and enjoy the sun outside with a family members or friends. The staff is always extremely friendly everytime I go in there and always give great suggestions when you ask them for their opinion. Their Panna Cotta is one of my weak spots when it comes to a Sweet Treat. The Turkey is always a good choice of a sandwich for lunch or to grab to go. Their latte always leave you with a fuzzy feeling even if you have to go walk out in the rain. The atmosphere in the Cafe is relaxed and laid back, sometimes you see people with their laptops. However, I think it would be a good place to relax and have lunch while reading a book while it pours outside (Man does that sound cliché haha). I havent been up in the loft area for one of my days there mostly because I am terrified I would spill my coffee on the way up, but I like to believe it is probably cozy up there. Floriole is one of my go-to places in downtown Chicago because it never seems to be too crowded so you can sit back, drink a coffee and relax with friends for awhile.

Stepping into this café from the outside encourages a deep breath--from the large windows filling the space with natural light, to the high lofted ceiling/additional seating on the second level. And then maybe more of a gasp, as you walk further in and can more closely inspect the baked goods on display. I lunched here recently, expecting something along the lines of a sandwich, and was super-pleased when I learned of the option of a salad trio plate (daily offerings are written on the chalkboard). I also had tea and the Gateau Breton....and all I can say is, good thing I dont live in the neighborhood as a DePaul student anymore! It was unbelievably good...but I fear it could be a little too good to my waistline if not consumed in moderation. While this was a partial-service establishment, the service at the counter was prompt and intuitive (I walked over with leftovers on my plate, and was asked whether I needed them wrapped up to go). I will definitely be returning.

This place is perfect. Situated right next to the infamous cupcake joint, Mandy Bs, Floriole takes the word bakery to a whole other level. The best advice I can offer anyone who is looking for the perfect taste, try as many of their creations as possible. Scones that taste like fresh blueberry pancakes, an array of tarts and sweet rolls, and best of all, their mini cookies, tres magnifique! It doesnt stop though, they have a very knowledgable barista, that always makes the perfect cup of joe or espresso. For those who think bakeries are just for breakfast, try a ham and cheese sandwich with their delicious dijon mustard. Five stars to a bakery who knows how to put every zest of lemon or orange in all the right places. This is an instant neighborhood gem and has all the potential to become the neighborhood bakery, sorry Mandy Bs. Why they win? Their service is impeccable, and its well priced for portions.

Floriole is a quaint little bakery in Lincoln Park on Magnolia Street. Like many locales in Chicago, Floriole goes with the open air look in the front when its nice out. They have street seating as well as seating just inside the doors when they open them up. They also have an upstairs that you can rent out for private events. It did not strike me as a place where youre going for brunch, but rather a place where you go for a pastry and drink. Its a really nice spot, and the perfect place to stop on the way to some other weekend activity. I had a the Chocolat au Pain, which was delicious, and the Iced Green Tea which, hey, was awesome delicious. This is a great spot for a nice little date. Dogs abound outside, and its got a very European feel to it. The neighborhood is also great, so you can go for a fun little walk after you eat.

Although slightly overpriced (a subjective judgment since I had been spoiled for years with fresh cheap authentic French baked goods), Floriole does provide a scarce object, baked goods that are very very good. While I do think the almond croissants, and quiche need some refinements, they are leaps and bounds above their competition because of some of the techniques used. For instance, there is finesse in maximizing the outside browning of their products while retaining the soft interior and flavor. Similarly there is very good attention to detail in the taste profiles of the products. The atmosphere is nice, with a spacious feel downstairs and upstairs; there is free WiFi. Midday there is a domination of lunching soccer moms, children, and some local business people downstairs. In short, go relax, and savor each bite.

Local bakery with really crafted baked goods. Their Canelles are a must - Id never had these magical pop-over/custard/carmelized treats before and I love them. But I do not indulge in the $4 fresh little cups of orange juice :/ If they are open, they are busy. Looking to have a shower or daytime party? They are available for private events. They are now offering pizza on Friday nights - I have not been, but their photos look delicious.

Hands down, the #1 thing we will miss most about Lincoln Park when we move. Almond croissant is my favorite - better than all the croissants we had in Paris! Everything Floriole makes from breakfast pastries to salads and sandwiches to pizza to sweets is always simple but unique and just excellent. Gorgeous interior and super friendly staff as well. Thank you for being such a great neighborhood spot for us!

Excellent espresso, expert baristas, delicious lunch menu, and some of the best pastries and bakery items in the city. The seating areas are comfortable, the atmosphere is beautiful, and its quiet enough to bring your laptop and get some work done. Floriole is definitely my favorite cafe in the city. You can usually find street parking nearby, and the ability to make NFC payments is a plus.

I had walked past this place a bajillion times and never even noticed, then all of the sudden, bam there it was. It reminded me a lot of Le Pain (on Sheffield and Armitage). Very basic, minimal interior design, nice inside light, fresh ingredients and great bread. The turkey sandwich was very tasty, as was the side salad it came with. Seating upstairs is quieter and roomy.

A wonderful local bakery & pastry shop they have delicious items for breakfast and lunch. The upstairs seating area is light and bright and wonderful place to meet a friend or sit and work. Its extremely pricey however so be prepared to pay up for the privilege of a beautiful place to sit and higher quality food.

This breakfast and lunch spot serves fresh, seasonal dishes in a beautiful, light-filled setting. Im a fan of the salad trio which allows you to taste all of their homemade salads (grain, veggie, potato) with a side of the daily soup. If the downstairs is crowed go upstairs for a view of their rooftop garden.

They charge $3 for a 12 oz cup of Metropolis coffee and dont offer larger sizes. I can go elsewhere and get 20 oz for under $3...I havent eaten there and am primarily a coffee drinker so take that into consideration for my score. To their credit they seem to put time and effort into their espresso drinks.
