Ive just experienced the bouncer with long curly hair. Not sure how he still has a job after all these reviews about him specifically. Hes super rude. I spit out vodka I was drinking on the sidewalk in front of the bar. Im obviously not close to as drunk as other people inside were, but even with me speaking so coherently he didnt let me in. I just cant take a shot, im weak I know. I didnt even get in so I cant review the actual bar. Thats a shame because it seemed on point. There not a lot around that area so when you go you can only depend on getting into Beauty Bar. Not dependable as if you dont get in you have to go to a different area in Chicago. I probably wont come back since I see that the bouncer is ridiculous, and Id have no where to go in that area after if he doesnt feel like letting me in. Get a new bouncer

Shame, I used to love this place and recommend it to lots of friends, but one terrible night can really make a person do a 180. Extremely rude bouncers, a long and bureaucratic ID process (why??), no explanations for any policies, and then when we tried to call in and speak to a manager, we instead got this woman who gave me so much attitude I had to scrape it off my shoes later. "Uh, hello, its a Saturday night, were like, really busy? Can you call back tomorrow or something?" "No, Id like to speak to your manager please, tonight." "Well like, hes at the bar right now, so..." Sorry Beauty Bar, I will never set foot in you again. Shame, because a lot of my friends perform at Salonathon here, which Im now unable to attend because I dont want to support you. Terrible!

I enjoyed my experience there. we got there around 8pm to get an early start to the manicures and it was pretty much empty so that was nice! Since we were there earlier we didnt have to pay the cover, so the manicure and martini were $20. Theres a coat check ($3), but it got full before midnight. It was 90s night and the music was just okay, depends on your definition of the 90s, definitely not R&B, but a little hip hop was sprinkled in there. I will probably come back and do a similar thing by coming early to avoid the line and cover, but on a different themed night like bump and grind.

I was a bit hesitant to try this joint since it was once sonotheque which was like a cooler version of Buddha in the early 00s. First experience was the Prince and Michael Jackson event and I have been going back ever since! IT gets very live in the smallish space.Recently checked out their Thursday event, Rap Karaoke, and was happy I came out with my gurl. The crowd is fun and diverse and its simply hilarious to see what songs people will choose. The bar tenders are always attentive and keep the liquor flowing to build up your, ahem, courage to step on stage.

Known for $10 manicures and martinis, Beauty Bar features a healthy mix of live music and DJs with cheap beers ($3 PBRs). I wont seek out Beauty Bar on an average night, but it is an awesome place to go dancing. The majority of the space is open for dancing with the manicures up front, the bar hugging the East wall and smaller dance floor in the back of bar. The vibe is very much "come as you are," as Ive seen people their in suits, plaid button downs and ironic t-shirts. As long as youre comfortable, youll be fine.

I was here for my birthday and unfortunately I cant recall the experience. I was told I had a blast. I have been here on numerous occasions and I always have a good time. I believe they host a 90s and 80s themed once a month and thats usually what I show up for. Its not a huge place and thats part of what I like about it. It has a nice lounge type atmosphere and no pretentious crap to deal with. I cant stay this is bachelor party material but it is definitely a good place to go for a night out with the friends.

The worst experience ever!!! I went there for my first and last night to beauty bar. First this place tries to double charge me, so be careful people.. they might try to scam you. Secondly I was with my girls and the body guards dragged my one girl out and threw her on pavement. Like what kind of place do they run here!! Im disgusted with the way they treat people and upset at the fact that they tried stealing. I will never come to this place again.

One of the best places in Chicago to go dancing hands down! The place is eclectic, with lots of different nights, sometimes they have free food and I cant say no to a bar that also offers manicures. Ive had many long, fun nights on their dance floor. I particularly love the Prince V MJ nights, even though we also know Michael is the true prince. Drinks are just ok, but who goes there for the drinks anyway? Best when cute guys and gals are around.

Ive lived in Chicago for many years and never have I experienced such poor customer service. The bouncer (long curly hair) is on a power trip, as previous reviews have mentioned and should be let go immediately. He was rude to multiple people in line and especially prejudice to woman, which is odd considering it is their main target market at BB. I will never enter this establishment again and I urge you not to either.

The djay is not up to date. If the dj even knows who Drake is I am surprised. Old 5 heart beats playin ass. The dj played no current music and when I aksed her too play something relevant she played boyz 2 men... common now. The dj played what she wanted to hear the whole night and had no regard for what i aksed her to play which was something new and relevant. !! Not going back because of the dj. !!!!

This bar is run by racist a**holes. The bartenders and bouncers are so rude and disrespectful and I have absolutely no doubt that they are racist. They are on unwarranted power trips and I will never go back and dont recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of other places to go dancing in this city without dealing with the bullshit of the staff of beauty bar. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Theres no place like Beauty Bar anywhere else in Chicago. 90s Night is the best, but the second DJ of the night is the reason I go!! Two times Beauty Bar has conned me a little with an offer for free admission when you RSVP on their website, only to arrive and have the employees rudely inform you that that isnt the case. But once inside and the first DJ finishes his set, I have the best time!

Both a salon and a bar, expect to pay $5 cover on a weekend. Beer is not overly expensive. The dance floor is extremely tight, and it can get overly crowded. Most of the crowd is nice, though there can be a few jerks of both genders. The music is themed depending on the night and is almost always on point. If you like dancing and drinking, I would recommend their 90s and Y2K nights.
