Ive been here for some casual beers before and thought it was great, but I recently had family host my bridal shower here and I hate to say it, but I really didnt care for the ambiance of the back room. The food was extremely bland. The room in the back was open; which would be great for a really big crowd of minglers, but this was a sit down lunch with less than 25 people so the space looked under utilized. There was no charm or decor to the back room. What they refer to as a buffet, was really food set out on a counter. It just seemed thrown together, not really thought out. I was rather disappointed and probably wouldnt recommend it for a private event. If you are in Evanston and looking for a beer - this place would suffice.

The menu is a little quirky, which makes it a bit unique. The front pub area is a comfortable place to hang out, have a drink, and watch a game or chat. The middle room is the restaurant and has some fun artwork. The food is good and as another reviewer mentioned, Tonys chocolate chip cookies are fabulous! The back room has a pool table, bar, a couple of dart boards, and another room with tables which I think is mostly used for parties. Ive been to several get-togethers back there and have enjoyed great food and the fun atmosphere. I think Rob does a nice job with Prairie Moon.

The food here is so-so, but the beer selection is the best in Evanston. The painted soup can be good, but the preparation is inconsistent. The same goes for the veggie burger. The quesadilla was too greasy for my taste. The salmon sanwich is quite good. Wed recommend skipping dessert; most are not worth the calories. The tap lineup is glorious, however. Theres usually at least one Belgian on tap. Theres a lot of turnover so the beer is usually quite fresh. The turnover also means that the menu changes frequently.

Dark side of the Moon burger all the way! Very good burger! This place has a large selection of creative foods. If you are questioning to go, go... I would just say that they should work on the decor of the restaurant seating area.. also.. the food can be inconsistent. I have had the Dark Moon burger and found it to be the 2nd best burger Ive ever had.. another time I got it and it seemed that the ingredients were old and the fries were sitting around for a while. I still wouldnt discourage anyone from going tho.

Prairie Moon is a place with solid bar food and an awesome beer list. Ive had about 80% of their menu by this point and can say that there are not any bad dishes and most are well above average. Some favorites include the grilled fish tacos, northwoods burger, and the chimichurri salad. Beerwise, they are far and away my favorite. World of Beer recently opened and has more beers on tap but the selection at Prairie Moon is far superior. Plus they get beers that are incredibly rare like Surly Darkness.

Id like to preface the following sentiment by saying that my view on hospitality is hyper-critical due to my profession as a general manager of a fine dining steakhouse in Chicago. Ive been to Prarie Moon on numerous occasions and Ive never had a less than stellar experience. The food is cooked fresh. The owners are great guys and the staff is happy to provide hospitality. Bar patrons are always fun and interesting. Well done Prarie Moon. Keep up the great work!

Good neighborhood bar in Evanston thats less college student, and more grad student, professionals, and family oriented. Staff can be a little short with you, but its definitely related to the staff:customer ratio at certain hours. Nice selection of eats on a broad menu with some unique options like the Three Sisters. Great tap and bottle selection. Family friendly, but also a place to grab a few beers with friends.

Went for lunch. Ordered a Moon burger, medium. Food came-but no waitress to see if everything was ok. It wasnt. Had to get condiments ourselves. My burger was well done, not medium, and quite dry. The fries were soggy, not crisp. The service was pretty much nonexistent, which was surprising since the place was almost empty. Then again, maybe that is why it was almost empty.

Review for Sunday Breakfast: Its a decent spot for breakfast/brunch, especially for large groups. Theres plenty of space that doesnt get too packed. They were able to accommodate our large group with no problem. The food is pretty standard fare. I dont recall any bottomless mimosas offering. If you bring your own desserts/cakes for a celebration, note theres a $10 charge.

I came here for drinks on a Friday night in the summer and the place had about 2 other people. They have a large dining and bar area, which was underwhelmingly utilized when I was there. Prairie Moon might be a better option for meals, but dont come here expecting a party. Their beer list is quite short but mostly affordable. If you want a bar scene, go elsewhere.

Good atmosphere but inconsistent quality. I know people who love this place, so I dont want to be too harsh with my review. If you get something that doesnt seem right, send it back. Theyre great about addressing problems (one time I got a fish dish that tasted like a pound of salt was poured on it, and it turned out that they used the wrong fish).

maybe this used to be a good restaurant, but last night we were seated next to the kitchen when the whole place was empty and available. We had to speak up abt that. The brocoli was so inedible, I almost took it into the kitchen to ask the chef to eat it. The rest of the food wasnt much better. Im flabbergasted that anyone likes this place.

Surprised by how good the breakfast is there. The fact that they have killer bloody marys is just a bonus. I had the breakfast burrito. Its larger than your head. Very tasty. I recommend it. The place is not packed on Sunday mornings. So if youre craving a good brunch and dont want to wait it line, give it a try. They open at 11!

Went for Easter Sunday Brunch. We went later than most, and there was still ample food left. We had several other, more expensive choices in the area, but decided Prairie Moons price was right with one cocktail included. Its a comfortable, casual place wtih singles and families, and with a lovely patio.

We had a fantabulous experience today at Prairie Moon restaurant in Evanston. The food was delicious and my sirloin steak and Adrienes cedar planked salmon were cooked to perfection. Our server Zac was the best. Attentive and quick! And we love the Theatre partnership with Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre!!

one of the most disappointing meals in a while. a bland, luke-warm, soggy offering (i am talking about the food AND the service). i didnt expect a burger and fries to set my world on fire, but i likewise didnt expect someone to proclaim "ive had better food at applebees."

Great bar with good food... Here are some of my favorites: Cedar-Planked Salmon, Fish Tacos, Marthas Vineyard Salad (add blackened Salmon) and Black & Blue Moon Burger. They also have a bar in the back that you can rent out for parties.
