BEWARE OF FAMILY SQUARE!!! After voting...my wife and I stopped by Family Square for breakfast. We ordered an omelette and soup. Got a doggy bag for food not eaten. While the misses was paying the bill at the cash register...this guy walks over to our booth and asked what happened to the contents that were in the bread basket. I thought he was kidding so I told him oops there all gone. This guy then identified himself as the owner and demanded I give him the contents that I had put inside the doggy bag. He then had the nerve to start looking inside the plastic bag.. After a bunch of expletives and yelling I was then grabbed on the arm by some guy who I warned to unhand me. He identified himself as the second owner and complained that I took some coffee creamers in addition to the other so called complimentary items. They also insulted us referring to us as derelicts...hard up taking the complimentary items etc. I told them both to go f*&&%^&% themselves and exited the place. My wife and I had been to this restaurant many times...But never again. P.S. But while I was there, I noticed the waitress twice walking the bread baskets from other customers tables back into the kitchen. The contents of the bread baskets are not covered. After my horrible experience I am convinced that the restaurant has a policy of giving out food that has been previously pawed over by other customers. Why else would the owner want these items back. I intend to report this incident to the Will County Health Department.

I came in and was seated within 4 minutes, waited for server like 1 minute she brought the menu and offers coffee. I placed my order and she made it into a combo style so it were cheaper (loved that suggestion) the only thing a wished is that the cleaning staff were more careful with the little plates that are on the table with half and half coffee creamers because the one at my table had some paper straw garbage and some food crumbs but other than that the food was amazing and for once I found a place with French Toast that arent to eggy or toast to burnt all my food was perfect and the server Cindy wasnt hasty at all she asked only 2 time if I was fine or needed something and thats not pushy at all love that about her. She was precise with my order and she was very nice to me. And even offered coffee to go. I Love the old fashioned music they played and the tv was in a appropriate channel. Also from where I was sitting I was able to hear the kitchen staff and I like that they dont swear or yell there nice and quiet. Love this place and Im looking forward to coming again. Also the manager seems very friendly with the workers he listened to things they say and comment to him and he seem to have a grate relationship with everyone.

Our work crew has been going here for years. Ive never been disappointed going to Family Square. Definitely a better choice over Dennys next door considering the portions and the price. Breakfast is great, lunch sandwiches are good too. 2-3 people can easily eat for under $30 but once you see the menu youll get greedy. Ive never tried their dinners because we usually go for early breakfast before work or a sunday brunch. What Ive seen looks good. Salads and soups are good. Staff has always been friendly. Im surprised at some of these reviews, if youre a jerk youll probably be treated like one no matter what business you go to.

This use to be my favorite restaurant for breakfast however I ordered the 4 duces and requested cheese on my eggs. I asked a simple request that the pancakes be in a separate container than the rest of the items. The guy who took my order, who barely spoke English, felt that he needed to charge me extra for the container. I told home I was never charged before and he stated he didnt care what was done in the past and that hes charging me this time. Sophias House of Pancakes is literally a block away and the food is bigger and better. Ill never visit this place again.

Family atmosphere good, but not loud. I have been going to this restaurant since 1979, when it was called Mr. Quick. This was the year I moved to Bolingbrook THE OWNERS WHO ARE BROTHERS WERE THE COOKS . This was a tiny fast food restaurant , later it become Family Square . Now we finally had a great FAMILY RESTAURANT were you felt like family. I specifically like the Greek style steak and their desserts like the rice pudding and their delicate delicious baklava

Came here for breakfast and everything was great. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, the coffee was good, the crepes are delicious. My husband ordered the country fried steak at the recommendation of the waitress and it was great. Sausage gravy was good too. I always get corned beef hash everywhere and theirs was better than most. Fresh strawberries on my crepes made for a perfect finish. We will come back if we get the chance.

Not impressed. After being seated I noticed that this restaurant is not clean. Mirror along back wall is filthy! Run down for the most part. I ordered a skillet and my eggs were crispy along the edges like they were deep fried. Not good. Potatoes in the skillet were good, but swimming in butter at bottom of dish. My husbands chicken fried steak was mostly breading. Coffee was hot. Service good. We will not be back.

I wont be back. I ordered a spinach omlet for breakfast. It was cold and the hash browns were even colder. The spinach was either very old, or it was canned. Either way, the flavor was bad. The coffee was ok but you had to ask twice, or more, to get a refill. The bad food came with a high price. It was more expensive than other restaurants in the area that do it right. Like I said, I wont be back.

So it may seem a little on the run down side and could use updating, but fact remains they have one of the best meat sauces for pasta i have ever had!!! And for that, i keep coming back to get the same thing every time. Tube noodles with meat sauce! Very yummy and well portioned. Cream chicken with rice and split pea soups are also very good. Fortunately for me I hate spinach ;)

Stopped for late breakfast. Turns out they serve breakfast all day. The food was exceptional, more than we could eat and priced very well. You cant find a better deal if you want to get away from the chains. Service was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend it, were going back for sure!

I love the tuna sandwich and fries here. The cream of chicken rice is amazing. The service is fast but the customer service side blows. It depends on the waitress you get. Update: been here ar night which customer service has been exceptional. ..hit and miss with them.

The food is good, the service is very friendly. If you are white or you want to be surrounded by white diners this is the place for you. I am Latin and sometimes I have felt out of place, but it is only my personal perception, theyre very gentle.
