The Cake Box has always held special meaning for our family and it is absolutely wonderful that year after year their baked goods and customer service have been constant. If you bought something there 30 years ago, you will not be disappointed purchasing baked goods from them today! Just consistently good and tasty. I live in Barrington, but my mother-in-law lived in Arlington Heights and she would always buy coffee cakes and breakfast pastries from The Cake Box. I knew it must be good because she herself was an excellent baker. We began buying birthday cakes from them, as well as the small variety butter cookies, which my children have the fondest memories of! Recently, they baked a birthday cake for a special birthday for my husband. I can honestly say the cake is as good now as it was 35 years ago. What a treasure of a bakery. Long may it live and thrive!! I wanted to add that small bakeries, not grocery store bakeries, or even a Deerfields, can compare with this neighborhood bakery. It is hard to find a home town" bakery, and Arlington Heights and its surrounding suburbs are very fortunate to have a kind of bakery which is quickly dissappearing from the American bakery landscape. I have no idea where some of the one-star reviews come from . . . their pastries are not cheap-tasting, and I honestly feel their prices are fair.

Worst cake ever! Wrong icing. I was transporting this cake and it melted. I even looked at the order form to ensure it was ordered correctly. Buttercream frosting ordered, whipped cream is what I got. Paid wedding cake price for them to decorate my daughters first birthday cake. It looked nothing like the picture I provided. Instead of being smooth (not to the extent of fondant) it was textured with ribbing and pipping. The colors were pastel instead of bright and the dots little smears of frosting everywhere. The cake itself was dry and I was thoroughly disappointed with the service. The girl who took my order knew nothing, she kept having to step away to ask questions and the lady I picked it up from didnt have time to work with me because she was busy with morning pastry customers. Also, bought a few donuts. Those too were dry & the cream donut I ordered was missing the cream. I will not be back and I would highly recommend finding another bakery if you want quality or service.

5 Stars isnt enough to describe the service, attention and quality of whats being done here. After a bad experience last year with a different bakery for my sons B-Day, this year I wanted to make it different and make sure that things were done right! Went in to Cake Box and gave them an idea of what I wanted (cars theme cake) not having anything to show as a sample made me worry a little, I really wanted to reflect my idea. Person who took care of me and the cake box team caught on Perfectly on what I wanted! Impressive! Picked up my cake today, done on time, they showed me and I was amazed. My whole family liked it and kept asking me where, who, how and kept complimenting how delicious the cake was and how the design was perfect with our theme party. Thank you Cake Box Team. Im a lifetime customer and I have other occasions coming your way for the rest of the year. 4/9/2016

Ive been going here my entire life, if you count when my mother brought me here. Sometimes the prices on their birthday cakes are a bit pricy, but on the other hand the coffee cake and brownies are excellent and not that different from the prices at the grocery store bakeries. The Chocolate Chip coffee cake in particular is one of the best coffee cakes available in the area. The others are good, but not spectacular compared other area bakeries although at least as good, but the chocolate chip coffee cake is to die for. I also love their rocky road brownies.

I ordered a cake from The Arlington Cake Box Bakery for my parents 25th silver wedding anniversary celebrations. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious! They fulfilled all my requests and surpassed my expectations! I was concerned about transporting the two tiered cake, but they packed it in such a way that it was so easy to transport and assemble. We didnt have any issues and everyone loved the cake. I highly recommend this bakery.

I recently hosted a sweet 16 party for my daughter. I bought my desserts and cake from the Cake Box, and they were all delicious! The cake was amazing. It was decorated in beautiful pastel colors and even had a photo of my daughter scanned into the frosting! I also bought some brownies, cookies, and cupcakes and they tasted great! Im definetly coming back here for my next party.

I have purchased many items at this bakery, everything is great. One of my favorites is their sauerkraut rye bread, it is wonderful, I have even had co-workers try it. After they do, they want me to get them some. Keep up the great job.
