Almost everything is pretty mediocre here from the chalupas to the quesadillas; even the servers sometimes forget what you told them to get and dont refill drinks on the regular. I went twice, just to see if I was wrong the first time; no, the food is just bland. No real spices used in anything. The first time I got chicken quesadillas and burritos ... the chicken is sliced up breast which tastes awful in dishes like that. Second time I got a Taste of Everything and quesadillas, with beef. The portion sizes are big enough for the money, but trying to eat it without throwing salsa on it is almost impossible. The high points were the chips, the second time; the first time, they always were a little burnt. They also make a pretty good margarita, the best part is that they make some mean churros. I went a second time off of the strength of those; best churros from any Mexican restaurant I have tried in years. Yet, I dont go to a restaurant just for dessert and drinks to get subpar service and bland tasting entrees. Therefore, this place is now a no-go in my book; I will only use it if I have already eaten somewhere better and need to meet someone with a finicky stomach.

WOW! this place is great seriously! The portions are satisfiable the daiquiri drinks are delicious.the only thing I would say is a little off for a mex rest. Is that me and my guest werent offered any chips&salsa.maybe because we sat at the bar and started with drinks idk?¿ But other than that this place is my new GoTo spot! I WILL be askin about the salsa next time! Note: no lunch specials on sundays but the prices are wayyyyy cheaper than bartaco and some others..and the portions are helluva bigger than Acapulco and plenty others..

My fiance and I checked out this place because it is close and we saw good reviews on here. The atmosphere felt like we had entered a Chuck E Cheese and the food matched the atmosphere. It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to give us chips and we only saw him two more times. It took over 30 minutes just to order and then another 25 or so to get the food. The fish tacos were metallic tasting and had nothing on them, while the beef enchilada I had was pretty bad. Would not recommend...in fact, would inform to stay away.

Monterreys use to have excellent food, decent prices, and nice "friendly" staff. However since the economy tanked the folks here havent been as welcoming as they were in the past. Often our writer has a bad attitude and approches the table like were wasting his time. I even witnessed the staff making fun of a young gay couple that was dinning there. The food might be tasty and price may not have changed but their childish acting staff is driving away our business.

Food was good, server was good, environment was pleasant...however, when my wife made it to the register to pay - her receipt was crumbled and rolled into a very small ball and handed back to her. I was getting kids in the car and was furious when she explained, but she asked me to not go back in...we checked the TIP and it was at 22% ... you can determine the why behind it all, we couldnt figure it out. WE WILL NEVER RETURN!!

I ended up giving this 3 stars but you could argue that it is worth 4. If youre just looking for an average Mexican restaurant to eat at then this is it! If youre looking for extraordinary taste and a cool atmosphere then you might want to go somewhere else. The food is good, but theres nothing special about Monterrey.

The food was average as mexican restaurants go. The service was...reluctant. My wife and I sat near the kitchen entrance and still got by-passed a lot, even when we placed one of the untouched orders back at the edge of the table to signify there was a problem. No one was rude, but no one was very nice either.

Peoples just like make a stupid post and they go to a American restaurant and dont complain at all we gift a free chips and salsa and the complaint all the time please people dont be soo stupid and be a nice person if you dont like just dont coment and be a nice and friendly person...

Ok, I am gay and my husband & have been coming here for years with no problems & recently ate there with no issues. That said, the quality of the food & the service have been going down hill for a year now. That and the health score fell below 85 for a while there- not a good sign!

The hostess are terrible. They barely made eye intact and no one had a smile and one girl with the fakest smile did. I rememeber there was one hostess named Jocelyn that was amazing. Always had a cute smile and offered us water while we waited. I was never thirsty.

I would not recommend this place i ordered a shrimp quesadilla and it was really greasy i could taste the cooking oil and i paid 6 dollars for it normally when i get it its good size but today it was the smallest quesadilla i ate in my life not worth the price!!!

You shouldnt put out a "please seat yourself" sign if youre not prepared to acknowledge customers that you didnt see walk in. After 10 minutes and seeing at least 3 different employees walk past and ignore me, Im leaving hungry and aggravated.

Quick, easy, no-frills mexican food. Been going here for years. Check out the Tacos De Carne Asada plate or the super cheap ($6.95) and super good lunch fajitas M-F (11-3pm). Great place and great people who run it.

Lmao, this place is terrible. Chips were burnt, & my waitress tried to convince me the Daiquiri she brought out was a frozen strawberry margarita. The food isnt good either. Hit Mexico Lindo down the road.

Horchata is vanilla flavored rice milk from store with cinnamon. Its not ethnic mexican. Their tacos are taco bell level of athetic. Honestly never been so disappointed in mexican food and restraunt.
