We stopped in to Fuego on our way back from a day trip to Amicalola Falls. This place was on the route that the gps had us take, and we were quite hungry when we passed by, and decided to take a chance and eat here. We were quite pleased that we did, because the service and food were excellent!! We made it just before the lunch menu expired (3pm), and my girlfriend had fajitas and I had Santa Fe chicken, and both were fresh-tasting and nicely presented to us. Chips and salsa were quite tasty and fresh as well, and the cheese dip we had was warm and creamy. The service was attentive without being in-your-face, and we were kept in drinks and chips as we needed them. The price was right as well, we both had entrees, had the cheese dip, 2 drinks, and was less than $20 (without tip). We now have more of an excuse to go back to Amicalola falls...and might just have to go to Fuegos without any other destination in mind as well...it was worth the drive!

Alas, this is the closest Mexican restaurant to us, and an utter disappointment. And weve given them a couple opportunities too, since everyone has an off night. I could give you ever detail of over priced, mediocre meals and lousy service from unconcerned, seemingly annoyed staff. But the most important thing, and the reason well never go back, is A 74 HEALTH DEPT. RATING. Whoa. Even the huddle house around corner has a 90! And it lists rats and roaches as part if the cause. Gag. Sadly I noticed this after our last meal there. They need to spend less time of fancy decor and more time and $$ on restaurant fundamentals.

Staying at the Amicalola lodge with wife, decided to watch a world cup match here (Brazil vs Colombia). Sat at the bar and was quickly served chips and salsa and cold water. Everything tasted very fresh, and the chips were crispy fresh. Service was good, everything looked clean and ok, as it should be. Frozen margaritas were good, but a bit on the sweet side. One was good enough to get me in the mood, you know what I mean. Ordered Texas fajitas for two, it comes with shrimp. Good. Best thing, my team won! Wouldnt mind coming here again if the opportunity arises.

We loved going to Fuego Mexican Grill while staying at Big Canoe. It is super convenient to the North Gate of the previously mentioned, gated mountain community. The prices are reasonable, and the food is some of the best Mexican food around the North Georgia area. The decor inside is very inviting with high vaulted ceilings, which have a lot to do with the beautifully constructed shopping center, North Gate Station. The service is generally consistent, and at some point, I heard they even served breakfast. We definitely recommend giving them a try.

We really dig this place. I actually used to work here and everyone there was always super professional and helping eachother out. Food was always out really quick and suuuuper hot and the owners werent afraid to jump in and help you run your food. Everyone is super chill there, really positive environment and my fiance and kid still come here/order in pretty regularly, even though I dont work here anymore. Good food, good prices, good people.

Not good. The portions were decent sized and reasonably priced; however, the chips were burnt and cold with a strange odor. One basket of chips had a hair sitting on top. While the meal got better from this point, there was nothing special or redeeming about this restaurant. I doubt I would go back after reading the other reviews posted.

Highlights: Chips were great. Party of 4 and everyone was happy with their food. Service was great. Downside: They dont serve alcohol on Sunday - a Pickens County Law - if youre in the area and jonesing for a Margarita or beer on Sunday, you have to be inside Jasper city limits.

The food and service was phenomenal! I order the Cajun Tilapia and shrimp was so good my whole group was very satisfied with the experience. Wasnt expecting such great Mexican food in such a rural area I will definitely be back!

Weve been on the hunt for a good Mexican place ever since the old Chi-Chis chain folded. It only took us 13 years, but tonight we found it. Great food, great service - and so close to where we live! Couldnt ask for more.

Fuego is the best Mexican restaurant Ive ever had the pleasure of eating at. The fajitas were sizzling, the margaritas were tasty, and the atmosphere was authentic! The service was on point, as well. Highly recommend!

Food was ok but service was bad. They were not that busy when we got there but it took about an hour for us all to get our food. They did apologize and comped us for one dinner because it took so long to come out.

Delicious fish tacos. Friendly staff and a short wait on what seemed to be a busy night. My family all loved their food. I love the very cool decor as well. If you like Tex/Mex, you will love this location.

Waitress was good, but the kitchen sent the cheese dip out lukewarm and the fajitas were on the tasteless side but it may have just been the day as many others like the place, salsa and chip were great.

Pretty good Mexican food with friendly service. Ambiance is better in bar area than rest of restaurant, which looks pretty plain. Nice deck allows enjoying a meal outside.

Carlos and kim are great servers. They always go above and beyond to make sure you have a great service. The owners are very involved in business. Best margaritas...

Waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we had walked in. 3 people walked by us and others patrons waiting without saying a word. Needless to say we left.

Ordered the Texas margarita pitcher which was very weak and full of sour mix. The food is adequate but just OK. Overall just an OK experience.

Avg food. Weak liquor drinks and management made zero effort to cover blinding sunshine through windows at sunset.

Salsa tasted like hot sauce. Texas fajitas were not good either. Portions were on the small side.

Messed up 2 orders at our table, and they charged $1.50 for a side of sour cream.
