I wasnt very hungry, so I just ordered the Village Burger without sides. The restaurant has an interesting way of ordering burgers, and most of the toppings are customize-able. First, you choose a burger, either The Village (2 patties), Village w/ cheese (2 patties w/ cheese), the House (1 patty), and the same w/ cheese. They also have a veggie, turkey, and chicken sandwich option, but I was there for the burger. For toppings and condiments, I got lettuce, tomato, pickles, raw onions, and green pepper, with ketchup and spicy mustard on top. The wait was a bit long since there werent any customers (~10 minutes). The burger finally arrived, dripping grease everywhere (could be a good or bad thing). The portion size was pretty good, larger than the burgers at Burger 21, and roughly the same size as the ones at SmashBurger. Starting from the top, the white bun. It was dry and flaky, didnt hold up well after soaking up all the grease. A lot of the other reviewers complained that the bun isnt fresh, which now seems understandable. The patties didnt meet my expectations. Firstly, it was under seasoned. At the very least, I expect a burger patty to be properly seasoned with salt and pepper, to bring out more of the flavor of the meat. In turn, the burger didnt have much of a taste. In addition, the patties were crumbly, and chunks easily broke off when I was eating the burger. Moving on, the tomatoes, onions, and green peppers were fresh, and the lettuce was very nice, almost like a butter lettuce consistency. The veggies were probably my favorite part of the burger, which is kind of a sad thing. My friend ordered onion rings, so I tried one. I ended up getting one with the outer onion layer (the tough fibrous layer), pretty much unacceptable. The other ones looked fine, so I probably have terrible luck HAHA.

First 2 times we went here, we remarked that the burgers were burnt black and crispy on the outside and dark grey like hockey pucks on the inside. So we went a third time, because we live around the corner, and specifically requested that they take the burger off early so as not to burn it. We got the standard "Oh, okay." But same result, black n burnt on the outside and dead charred inside. Finally gave it one more shot. Told the kid kindly, "Please, please just tell them to take it off a little early, its always burnt when we get them." Again I got, "okay, and would you like fries with that?" - "No thanks on the fries, just please dont burn it again : )" "Okay.", he says. Guy said nothing to the cooks Again. Burgers come out again charred and black. I looked at it, disappointed. Gave it back after asking why he couldnt just tell them to take it off a little early because they are always charred black on the otiside, and walked out, after this forth chance. I love meat and a good burger. But Charred meat is actually pretty bad for people healthwise - its been linked as a carcinogenic, so people should be careful. Now, the place is called Village Burger - which means the Burgers are their specialty, at least according to their name. This is why I have to go with 1 star. If you cant cook a burger, call it something else - Village pub or something, idk.

My husband and I love Village Burger. With all of the fancy ways restaurants have come up with to make a burger, sometimes you just want an old-fashioned, classic burger, and Village Burger never disappoints. The fries are hand cut but not burned, and the onion rings are delicious - lightly breaded with a little kick from the pepper. Tip: a side of fries easily feeds two, and a shared basket will feed a table. My husband also loves their turkey burgers. They are so flavorful and juicy, he eats them on his own. In fact, the double turkey burger has probably become their staple.

We went to the Village Burger on 2/26/16. The food was great and the service was quite speedy. I ordered the house burger and it arrived around 6 minutes later. The sauces were good and I really enjoyed the size of the to share foods. It was enough for the entire family and my son liked the burger so much that he ate 2! This is a great place and is surely recommended. The buns could be better and the restroom cleaner. Other than that great value!

Great fast and casual burger joint. They have turkey, beef, chicken, homemade veggie, hot dogs, and grilled cheese. The turkey burger is very good - not dry and plenty of flavor. The fries and onion rings are really good and a 1/2 and 1/2 basket is more than enough for 2 people and a toddler who likes fries. The prices are very fair for everything. I keep wanting to try the frozen custard (looks so good!) but I never have room.

VB has always been fresh and hot when we ordered. Service can be slow when theyre busy- it seems that they expect the cashier(s) to get all drinks and ice cream items.. and when its busy and someone orders several milk shakes, etc, its slow moving in there, and most of the time there is only 1 cashier there. Prices are fair for amount of food. Good place to eat with kids!

A decent neighborhood place for burgers and fries. Burgers were the good and messy kind where once you start eating you cant put it down. Dont go here expecting to find much in the way of healthy food, though there was a token veggie burger on the menu.

It was OK. The burgers werent cooked to order, and the patties were very thin and dry. My husband had the hot dogs, and he wasnt wowed by them. They were just OK. I ordered grilled cheese for my son, and the bread was just a bun that had been flipped.

Wonderful place :^) The staff is great and are always willing to go above and beyond. The food tastes great in my opinion. I come here and couple times a week since finding it under Google Explores Best Places to Eat Lunch

Nice atmosphere, small joint. The food itself was standard burgers like you get everywhere, and was overpriced on top of that. Not many selections, and while the food was good, a little variety would go a long way.

Good place for a good handmade burger. My budget was juicy and had great flavor. The fries were soft inside with a slight crisp to the outside and had a sprinkle of flavoring added. Definitely get the village sauce.

Very nice place for a quick burger. The fry portions are huge, and the burger is great. They have fresh jalapenos instead of weak pickled ones.all together a normal meal is about $10.50.

Food is awesome, get the seasoned fries. Service was great, they had a small hiccup and the owner came out and went above and beyond to correct. Best restaurant in the area by far.

I expected more from a restaurant with the PRIVILEGE of employment from a Mclean. My burger was extremely salty and unsatisfying. However, those Mean Mclean Rings hit the spot.
