We had reservations for four at 6:00 Saturday night. We were seated in an almost empty restaurant at the worst table in the place. On the aisle into the main dining area between the doors for the kitchen and rest rooms. A table of 6-8 in front, behind and on the side of us. We had previously checked the menu and knew what we wanted to order. Two of our choices were not on the menu. The server told us the weekend menu was “compressed” to assure fine dining on the remaining items. The kitchen assured my husband he could still have the lobster ravioli with vodka shrimp sauce. I ordered the osso bucco. An Italian linguini item was not available so my guest ordered another pasta. My final guest ordered the eggplant parmesan. We did order a very ordinary appetizer. The bread was just that, cut store bread with herbed butter. It is a good think we had that because it was 70 minutes until our plates were served. Only two plates came out of the kitchen at a time. So I and my husband had to wait until someone seemed to notice our whole table was not serviced and raced into the kitchen to bring out my and my husband’s meal. Simply, it was a dinner I am trying to forget. The pasta dish was less than mediocre. They took it back to the kitchen, added more seasoning and heated it up. The lobster ravioli was hard and cool under a sauce that tasted exactly like the jarred Classico Vodka Sauce I buy at Publix. The worst dish and the most expensive on the menu was the osso bocco. It was over cooked veal shanks with huge chunks of mushy carrots, celery and jarred mushrooms. The only seasoning I could taste was salt. I could have made this plate in my crock pot for a lot less than $35.00. Same with the lobster ravioli which was $32.00. I want to mention the constant server interruptions that prevented us from carrying on a conversation. It was actually irritating as the meal wore on. I keep my salad and finish it with my entrée. Servers from all over the restaurant continued to try to remove my salad plate while my fork was still in it. We were also prevented from commenting on the meal because the minute we so much as tried to discuss it a server was over our shoulder asking, “was there a problem, was something wrong, did we want to do something to the food, should they take away a plate,,??? The restaurant was packed by 8:30. Over packed since the level of conversation to be heard above the people next to us was uncomfortable. I would think the only seats where a conversation could be pleasant would be perhaps in the far left corner table or the two far end booths. The dinner music was worthless. A few other observations are that the table water was served in beer glasses and tasted like chemicals. I would have preferred to be asked if I wanted bottled water. Also, we were two couples. When the server brought the check she asked if we wanted separate checks. I said to my friend that was a question she might have asked at the beginning of the meal. I was not talking to the server. But once again these employees felt the need to comment on our conversation and went into a much too long dissertation on it being easier to divide a check at the end and that is what most of her customers want to do and was there a problem and did we want her to divide the check by order, etc. etc. Actually, since I ordered the wine ($40.00) and the most expensive entrees it would have been fairer for my husband and I to get the check amount we ordered and our guests to get a check based on what they ordered. But that was not an issue. Dining out has gotten very expensive. I only want to dine out what I can not make in my own kitchen. When we get packed into a bull pen, have a constant stream of people passing by our table, wait and wait for food and then not be able to even talk about the dinner for fear of server comments it is not worth the bother of dressing and driving.

I needed a place to hold a rehearsal dinner and let me tell you, Corrado couldnt have made it any easier for my husband and me. We planned out a buffet style dinner and you couldnt have beat the price either. Thank you Corrado for being so flexible. I am so thankful he was so patient and kind and easy to work with. The food was soo amazing, everyone was super impressed! He has a beautiful restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and we all really had a great time! All of the waiters and waitresses were so friendly and nice, and one even sang a beautiful song to dedicate to us before we got married. It was such an unforgettable experience. Corrado was also so kind to give us a bottle of wine as a gift. I cant thank you enough and I dont think I couldve picked a better place. Thank you and your team for all the beautiful memories and having gone above and beyond for us and our families. You made us all very happy! We love you!! Good luck and God bless! Love, Steven and Nganny Eller

This is a great place to take the whole family. Great authentic Italian in a classic and cozy atmosphere. Romantic night out? Call and get a reservation! The bar is well stocked and the bartenders are knowlageable and well trained. The wine list is amazing. The owner was in house and very freindly as were the staff. Food portions were amazing and lasted two meals! I just wish that I could make the drive to eat here every week!

We were overnight at the Ritz Carlton for New Years Eve and Corrado the owner fit us in at a full house of customers with reservations! My family and especially boys 9 & 11 enjoyed the food. The service was exceptional even on such a crazy night. We will definitely be back. Sorry to say, puts the Ritz to shame on the service and food.

The best thing about this restaurant is the food. I had the chefs lasagna and soup the other night and they were both excellent. The chicken pot pie soup was the best Ive ever had. I wish we had good Italian food like this in Illinois. Everything tastes very fresh. The wait staff is very accommodating. Love this place!

I attended a work related function here that they also catered. I was impressed by the atmosphere. It is a beautifully designed building and the food is absolutely delicious. All food was free for us that night, however I took a look at the menu and it wasnt cheap! Overall, I look forward to going back!

Our first time eating here was for our 20th wedding anniversary. What a perfect choice! Excellent service, amazing fresh authentic food, and the owner checked on us several times throughout the meal. I cannot say enough about the food. My new favorite restaurant!

A lovely Saturday night experience away from the Ritz. They were incredibly accommodating for my wife who cannot have gluten, and David was an excellent server-kind, patient, and everything with a smile. And the food was delicious...we will be back!
