EDITED: The only reason they received more than a single star was because the cake was beautifully designed, the flavors were delicious, and was delivered on time. The issues lie with the customer service which is severely lacking and has made it an unpleasant experience. In fact, we did not have a two hour appointment, because of scheduling conflicts (my husband travels and I have a two hour commute). So under these circumstance (and so close to the wedding) had to place our order at the counter on Sept. 3rd. To be fair, it was a very simple cake design and smaller cake for 30+ guests. It began with the lack of attention we received each visit. We would have to wait over ten minutes to even flag down one of the employees behind the counter. While the young ladies that run the counter are very nice, they would rather spend their time chatting to each other rather than help out a customer. Finally, we were approached by a young lady. She was very sweet but seemed a bit clueless and wasnt able to divulge into detail about their cakes. Fortunately, we had already decided on flavor, filling, icing, and design with a picture to make this a simple process. So we hashed out the details with the young lady and placed and paid for our order. We had a couple of questions which she could not answer, so she fetched an older male employee. This man (owner, baker, or manager?) was unapologetically unpleasant and rude. At no point did he ever make eye contact and every question was met with annoyance as if we were inconveniencing him with our stupid questions. Our cake was ordered and set to go. We requested a copy of our order. After ten minutes(and some other customers the young lady needed to attend to before making our copy), we never received our form. We asked a final time and were pretty much brushed off. We simply gave up and left, it probably would be easier to call them and confirm details closer to the wedding date (which we did). Come our wedding day, we walk up to our table to see a single tier cake. As much as we loved our cake, this was not what we had ordered. We had the understanding that we would have a two-tiered cake which instead was a single tiered two-layered cake on the table. Whatever. We were too happy about the fact we were married. After the wedding, we contacted the manager and we told her that there must have been a mistake: we were told it would be a two-tiered cake (which we had specifically requested). She began explaining that perhaps it was a misunderstanding from our behalf, it was documented as a two-layered, single tiered cake. She began listing off the pricing which amounted the the total we paid a bit over $200 Frankly, $200+ for a 12" single-tier two-layered cake is unreasonable (albeit, $50 from the total was for delivery). At this point, there was no point arguing with her. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, but it was incredibly disappointing and was a damper on our wedding having to ration our cake to our guests. TL;DR; The product is good; the cakes are beautiful and taste heavenly and are almost worth going through the hassle. Almost. The staff is unorganized and inattentive. The management is straight up rude (with the exception of Malinda). Our mistake was not demanding a copy of our order confirmation even after requesting it two times.

If I could rate NO stars I would this place has a great atmosphere and setting HOWEVER I set up an appointment days prior to show up for a cake tasting for my wedding cake when I got there the severs asked if we wanted anything to drink we said no the male server said well the woman you set your appointment with is still dealing with her 9:00 appointment she should be over shortly.....10:00 comes for the appointment that we made and her ass is still sitting there dealing with her 9 o clock appointment that she had an entire hour with I mean she isnt about to get up at all shes still engaging with the other couple she hasnt said excuse me and acknowledged the fact that we had been sitting there waiting there was plenty of servers someone could have at least started bringing out the cake and based on the reviews I saw prior to coming to the bakery we were not about to be sitting there for 30 minutes or more I like for things to be done in a timely manner which is why we made such an early appointment we have things to do its rude and inconsiderate I looked at my fiance and said if this place cant even go through the cake tasting on time WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WELL HAVE OUR WEDDING CAKE ON TIME????? this place has some great workers but maybe they arent so good with multi tasking so we will be taking our money else where

Love it here, I love all the different types of delicious bakes goods BUT the customer service was HORRIBLE. Ive been here a few times and every time I see them treat other customers VERY WELL meanwhile I am usually left wondering in the store having to get peoples attention so that they could help me and it doesnt help that I am not white. After 3 times I decided I wanted to take my family here and we were treated the same way. ☹️ We wanted breakfast but I tried asking around if they served breakfast-no responce. They werent even busy, so that couldnt have been an excuse. We eventually ended up buying a bunch of baked sweets and ate that for breakfast. Will be going again, i just hope theyre customer service next time is more inclusive. And if your wondering, yes I am Latina, Yes I am a US Citezen I was never rude to anyone and Yes my whole family speaks very well in english. Our kids first language is english so I dont understand why we werent treated the same as other white customers.

Super great lunch spot. Servers are a bit relaxed about getting to the table quickly, but this isnt an Applebees or a Waffle House - its a place to relax, to linger, and to enjoy the moment. Food is AMAZING. Simple recipes done very well, with fresh baked goods featured prominently. Loved the (included with sandwich and chips) cookies, and there is a good selection. Decor is French country with rustic touches. Chairs are vintage style, a bit narrow for big girls, but fairly comfortable. Lots of outdoor seating under an awning or indoor seating. Very handicapped accessible - wide doors, no steps, all tables and chairs (no booths), multiple handicapped parking spots with clearance for vans, and even the bathrooms are large enough for a wheelchair.

The staff is awesome! I went in to get a cake for my birthday , one of the ladies with tattoos on her arm helped me. She was do nice, really worked with me on the price I wanted to spend too. My cake tasted amazing and I ordered it 3days before I needed it. I got a buttercream cake , and the designs on the cake were beautiful, the cake was an still is moist! Excellent just excellent I would definitely recommend this place. BUT they need to update their website, they moved to the mall of Ga outside the food court near the water fountain

We contacted Lexi from The Baking Grounds to make us a cake celebrating our oldest sons 8th birthday. She designed a themed cake for us and it was absolutely stunning. The detail was spot on and my son loved it!! Not only was it appealing visually, it tasted just as good! We were thoroughly pleased we have now found a new bakery to fulfill all of our baking needs! We highly recommend The Baking Grounds for anyone looking for great cakes, customer service and genuinely wonderful people! Thanks Lexi!!
